"Danger" Granger?! I mean, you all can't be serious. You might be able to guess what I think his nickname should be, but let's all agree that "Danger" Granger is a terrible nickname and should never be used again. Or am I in the minority here?

I like "Danger" well enough. I don't love it. However, when people immediately follow "Danger" with his actual name, Granger, I think it sounds dorky as hell and I don't like it at all.

Danger? Yeah, sure.

Danger Granger? Bleh.

I'm definately open to suggestions.
What do you want to call him?

Yeah, right, I guess I'm in this boat too, but still...what does "Danger" connote?

I much prefer, "The Gift"

If you think it is too sissy, then consider the dark side of it. In German, "gift" means "poison".

I think it says that he's a threat to the opposition. If you're playing against Danny Granger, you are in danger, so to speak.

I think of him as a gift, so sometimes I'll think of him as "The Gift", but that's a lousy basketball nickname so I don't really use it.

As for Danger, I've tried to play with it a bit during games. When he does something good you can say the other team is enDangered. :D

How about Danny Danger? It makes him sound like he should be appearing on an episode of the Super Friends on a Saturday morning in 1979.

Granger should have his own superhero cartoon.

Mighty Morphin' Power Granger?

Hahahahah...I think you went in the wrong direction with that one - we want a better nickname, but still, I like it.

It's important for us fans to get a good nickname now before he (hopefully) blows up.

As in he sticks to you like glue..
He is the glue that holds this team together
You are glued to the TV when the ball is in his hands... you get the point...
Or you can take it one step further and call him Elmer as in Elmer's Glue. :runout:

Danger Dan is a famous old nickname from something or other. Guessing it came from there rather than Danger Granger. And it came from his college days didn't it?

'The Gift' makes him sound like some kind of supernatural being that roams the earth helping people with their spiritual problems.
He could have his own show on the WE network with Della Reese!

No one has yet suggested the spoonerism: "Granny Danger."

And I'm not about to be the one who does...eyuck.

Kid is The Gift cause he was handed to us at 17th in the Draft.

Also helps accurately describe the past few seasons: The Gift and The Curse...aka...Danny and Ron Ron.

This one could also serve as an alternate for all you O' Brother Where Art Thou fans:

I remember reading he likes being called Danny Gee. That's his nickname from college. Personally I've been calling him Grange, but I'm going to start calling him 'Range.'

Why Range? Because it's a play on his last name and he has range on his shot.

I don't think Danny needs a nickname. Danny is a perfectly good name and plus it has the same sort of beat as a certain great Pacer when chanted.

Only if we can get Jack White to scream it as a sound bite for the times when Danny swats a shot out of bounds.

In other music nicknames, I think we should call him "Big Pippen".

Can't you hear it? "Big Pippen/He be shoting the three's/Big Pippen/From the top of the keys".

Or not.

We all know that is Jermaine O'Neal's nickname and it was given to him on his day of birth. I brought it to the attention of PD users about 2 years ago. Sorry maybe you can find someother holy type name, swagger jacking not allowed.

You mad, doggy?

(I was going to call him "ARES", but that's not as recognizable as God. That and that was the name of my athletic apparel company when I made a business plan last semester )

Hmm, how bout "Mini Pippen"? Can you do a pic of Dannys head over minis head and Pippens head on Dr Evils head? That would be funny :D

But honestly, i like danger, not when you say it "danger granger" but only "DANGER!".

Hahhahah, WOW. That Walker, Texas Granger is right on the money. I love the beard too - it gives him that Karl Malone swagger.

The yellow Power Ranger looks pretty sweet too.

However, he looks a little too effeminite in that Lone Ranger costume...
