This is a link to the Pacers roster. It has new numbers for all the Warrior players except Ike, but here is where I am confused. Murphy took 1, McLeod took 44, but the site has Dun listed as 34. For anyone who doesn't know the obvious 34 now hangs in the rafters courtesy of the great Mel Daniels. This has to be a typo doesn't it? Or is Dunleavy possibly being moved soon so they don't even care what number he wanted?

It better be a typo or a sign he is getting moved. Thats an insult to a great player

Maybe you better get David Mowray on the phone!

I am also finding it slightly odd that Ike doesn't have a number yet...Could there be a deal brewing?

My guess is that since Baston has #9, the number that Ike had in Golden State, his number has not been decided yet.

McLeod was number 4 in GS.

They could be updating it all as we speak. If it looks like that by dinner time, it becomes (slightly) interesting.

FYI, it now says Ike 1, Murph 3, McLeod 20, and Dun is blank. I find it strange that Ike = Jack, Murph = Cabbage, and McLeod = Freddie. In other words, don't be surprised if this isn't what it'll actually be.

ANOTHER SIGN OF A TRADE

The numbers on Pacers.com have changed. Murphy has 3, Ike has 1, McLeod has 20. Dunleavy has none. Could it be the Pacers asked those 3 guys for their number but didnt even bother asking Dunleavy for one because he is getting traded for Corey? Something is up.

I noticed this as well.

Could it be Dunleavy hasn't decided what number he wants yet...

I suppose it could mean a 1000 things but let's not overlook the obvious...

As some of you may have noticed earlier today, the new players were added to the roster. Diogu had no number, and Dunleavy was listed as #34 (which, obviously, wasn't going to happen).

Now, however, Diogu is listed as #1, and Dunleavy...no longer has a number listed. :chin:

Take from it what you will, but it certainly adds to the trade speculation, don't it? :eyebrow:

Not really. It sounds like Dunleavy just hasn't decided what number he wants yet. I hope he's traded though.

Oops, I just started another thread about this.

It is interesting, if nothing else. On top of that, the Yahoo gamecast for the heat game had Murphy listed as DNP-NWT (not with team), but Dunleavy was listed as DNP-TRADE. :chin:

He's the only one on the roster now w/o a number, and Ike took #1, McLeod took 20, and Troy took 3.

donny sounded fairly firm on not moving MDJ today on the radio... i think another move may happen but i don't think MDJ would be involved. lets remember no one had a clue about this deal until it happened. i don't have a lot of faith in these MDJ rumors now.

Well we know Donnie and Bird don't talk, that doesn't mean the other side won't. Remember Atlanta with Al? That was a mess.

One thing all this background info and speculation about numbers tells us....

Update: In response to a question from Chad Ford regarding trade speculation between Corey Maggette and Mike Dunleavy Jr. Donnie Walsh (Pacers CEO) stated, "Let me lay that to rest, I'm definitely not doing that. You know, I coached his father, Mike Dunleavy, and we spoke today and we spoke about how happy he was that Mike Jr. was coming here and during the conversation Corey Maggette's name never came up. I got off the phone and heard that it was all over the internet that we were going to trade for Corey Maggette and that is simply not true."

For anyone who cares, in GS Al is going to be #3, Runi #33, and Jack is retaining his #1. Powell will be #21.

Ya know only Pcaersleft, I am pretty sure that was not an option. So we need to move on from it. this trade may be a bit lateral, but I am thining more and more it is going to be good, Now if we can move David, who no longer has a place Harrison for something, more the better. If not, then more big men in the off season, is not a bad thing.

In case you were wondering Dunleavy's number has been updated on Pacers.com (http://www.nba.com/pacers/roster/index.html)

It's 17. :spy:

Perhaps out of respect for the man who traded him?
