What is this about the Raps possibly starting this game with a 2-0 lead due to the fact that they got screwed out of a bucket in their Hawks game?

What is this about the Raps possibly starting this game with a 2-0 lead due to the fact that they got screwed out of a bucket in their Hawks game?

Where did you see/hear/read that?

If true, it's ridiculous and illogical. Not to mention inconsistent.

Teams have been screwed several times in the past out of a bucket due to bad calls, and the best a team ever gets is an apology. Which as much as it sucks for that team, is the only thing you can do because if you try to make it up to them the next game, then you've started a cycle of trouble because now you've penalized a team (in this case, Indiana) that wasn't even involved in this screw-up.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 12:55 PM
Jack back in the starting lineup! :D

Go Pacers, good opportunity right here to move to 8-6.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 12:59 PM
I hope Daniels gets minutes today. He's too talented to get a DNP-CD.

Jack should start, he's our most productive 2 and his game will be streaky in either role.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:09 PM
Rawle starting again.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:11 PM
Jack should recover and I like what he's doing off the bench a lot better then what he was doing as a starter. Great 6th man I would argue.

:gopacers:

Regards,

Mourning

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:11 PM
What was that Rawle? Ugh. He ain't a starter Rick.

Apparently the Raps broadcaster said it. I was just a messenger something about how the scorekeeper in ATL forgot to add a Ford bucket late in the game and the mistake was not corrected.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:12 PM
6-0 Raps and already a timeout.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:13 PM
Another sizzling start.

We got to get this one today and start the trip right.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:17 PM
Tinsley continues to play very well. 11-9 Raps.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:17 PM
Rawle looks pretty bad out there right now.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:18 PM
Halfway through the 1st and we already have 4 turnovers.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:20 PM
Fred Jones hits a 3 and goes to his left for a layup. Thanks for improving your game now Freddie.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:24 PM
Same ole Pacers. :unimpressed:

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:24 PM
Good one Al!

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:24 PM
WTF is Tins doing???

Pitons
11-26-2006, 01:26 PM
They are killing us.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:26 PM
I'm not blaming him for the garbage we've seen today, but Rawle shouldn't be starting. Daniels or Jack need to start at 2.

Pitons
11-26-2006, 01:27 PM
Pacers always sleep in the 1 quarter.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:28 PM
Keep feeding Jack and JO in the post.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:29 PM
Nice ball Jax!!!

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:30 PM
What's that, 5 travels?

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:30 PM
Aiii! JO with the charge after the nice pass from Sarunas.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:31 PM
Jax is doing a good job of keeping us within striking distance.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:31 PM
Jorge Garbageman is killing us.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:32 PM
Sarunas with the missed three pointer, I liked the pass at the last moment from Stephen.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:34 PM
We should just spot people a ten point lead in the first and call it a day.

Oh and how telling Rick's comments were. Psychic even.

Pitons
11-26-2006, 01:34 PM
And once more it will be hard to come back.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:34 PM
Gotta give the Raps credit for a nice first quarter. They took advantage and forced turnovers, while moving the ball beautifully and making their jumpers.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:34 PM
Ok, the Raptors are just red hot not too much we can do about that, except those Freaking turnovers.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:36 PM
RASHO just took Foster to school.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:36 PM
Once again, cut it 7 or 8 at the half.

aceace
11-26-2006, 01:36 PM
Anybody that wants to watch the game, download TVU and go to the link in the other thread that has the link. "will game be shown in indy" click on the pacer game after launching it. Came right up, quality is good.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:38 PM
Keep giving it to Stephen Jackson. PLEASE.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:38 PM
Darrell Armstrong may bring a ton of energy, but he just is not that good. Why the hell has he taken three shots already and missed all of them?

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:39 PM
Nice Stephen!

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:39 PM
Sarunas is absolutely killing our defense. So many open jumpers. Ugh.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:39 PM
Jack is the only one that cares today.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:40 PM
We suck.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:41 PM
Road trip starts off horribly. Gonna be tough to go 3-3 now.

Pitons
11-26-2006, 01:41 PM
So are we finished?

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:42 PM
Al Harrington is a chucker.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:42 PM
Sarunas is absolutely killing our defense. So many open jumpers. Ugh.

I didn't know Sarunas was guarding Bargnani or Garbajosa?

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:43 PM
And Bargnani is slaughtering him on the defensive end... Al sucks.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:44 PM
And Bargnani is slaughtering him on the defensive end... Al sucks.

Agreed. With Al and Saras out there at the same time, the opposing team has a field day.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:44 PM
Christ Al made a shot I am gonna keep ripping him maybe he will finally show up to the game.

Pitons
11-26-2006, 01:44 PM
Wow we are gonna lose 40:200.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:45 PM
I've just about had it with Rick. Take Jack out and leave Al in - what the hell?

heywoode
11-26-2006, 01:45 PM
Man I wish this game was blacked out...cursed NBA rules!

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:46 PM
Wow! That was a nice play!

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:46 PM
I don't even know what to say right now. I'm pretty speechless about this.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:47 PM
Yeah, Al should take a brake. 2-10 after only a little more then one quarter. Waaaayyy to trigger happy at the moment.

I don't know why you would be speechless. We have a long history of this.

Frank Slade
11-26-2006, 01:51 PM
The odd thing about this team is it's 7-6 one of 4 teams with a winning record in the East. But something though just does not add up. I can certainly see sometype of move made here in the not too distant future.
At times we look great and at time horrible.

I hate to jump the gun this early, but you have the feeling this team can go either way, so this is a critical juncture early on to shake things up if this trend continues.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:51 PM
JO and Al a combined 4/15. FANTASTIC

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:51 PM
At the moment? Als been trigger happy most games this season.

Yeah, but IF he continues on this pace he's going to end with between 25-30 shot attempts. That's an enormous amount of shots even taking into account the "normal" amount of shots he useally takes.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 01:51 PM
Get Al out of the damn game. Wow.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:53 PM
Al: You aren't on the Hawks anymore. Time to play team ball.

Bball
11-26-2006, 01:53 PM
Great shot by Sjax...

not...

J_2_Da_IzzO
11-26-2006, 01:54 PM
He should never be taking more shots then JO in a game anyway.

Al was not a good pick up this year in my opinion. I think we might have faired better with Granger, JO and Foster.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:54 PM
Nice one Danny!

Mourning

Al was not a good pick up this year in my opinion. I think we might have faired better with Granger, JO and Foster.

I wasn't a fan of getting him either, but he IS here, so we should deal with it and he should adapt.

ajbry

Tins with 4 turnovers now.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 01:55 PM
I HATE this offense. I don't even know if we have an offensive game plan anymore.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 01:56 PM
It would be nice if the Refs would also whistle if there's a clear foul made ON Tinsley and not only when he makes one .

bnd45
11-26-2006, 01:58 PM
So the Celtics, Wizards and Raptors are gonna have blowout wins against us.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:00 PM
This team must have wet dreams about taking ill advised jumpers and three point shots.

No one understands the concept of taking the ball to the hoop except maybe Tins.

Mourning

Ummmmmm, sounded like sarcasm on the part of the Raptors broadcast crew. ;)

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:02 PM
Almost every single time Jack touches the ball the result has been a great pass for an open look, or Jack has had a nice look. I'm just glad it's only a 16-point game. We can get back in it.

Mourning
11-26-2006, 02:02 PM

If we can get it down to 6-8 at the end of the third, we can win this game. Our only problem is horrible shooting.

bellisimo
11-26-2006, 02:20 PM
well RC did say that the Raps would prolly be leading by 15 at the half....so hopefully he also figured out how to get out of this hellhole :D

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:22 PM
JO with a great effort on defense. Grimacing a little though, damn.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:24 PM
Al Harrington called for offensive 3 seconds. Nice job.

bellisimo
11-26-2006, 02:26 PM
ok...all ive seen so far is about 30 seconds of the 3rd quarter...and it was long enough to understand why we've been struggling so much...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD - DO SOME RUNS...SCREENS...Pick-n-Rolls!
dont just stand there!!!

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:26 PM
Tins trying to take over the game, what a shock. Danny with the nice put-back, and now the margin is down to 12.

Raskolnikov
11-26-2006, 02:26 PM
well RC did say that the Raps would prolly be leading by 15 at the half....so hopefully he also figured out how to get out of this hellhole :D

C'mon, Pacers, make a run!

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:28 PM
If we win this game I might just die.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:28 PM
Jack taps it away from Freddie and gets fed for the layup.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:30 PM
Seriously, could Al be any worse these past couple of games? This is just bad.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:30 PM
Why is Al STILL in the game??????

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:31 PM
Jack with the penetration and dishes to Tins for a 3. 60-49.

granger
11-26-2006, 02:31 PM
trade al for 1st round pick

oh wait

bellisimo
11-26-2006, 02:31 PM
you cannot defend free throws! stop with the lousy fouls

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:31 PM
Ok Tins has found his three point shot but lost his passing abilities.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:32 PM
So Al has 13 boards but cant hit the broad side of a barn? Who would have thunk it...

bellisimo
11-26-2006, 02:32 PM
appearantly my videofeed is a lil delayed than the rest....

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:32 PM
Back within 6, lol. This team is bizarre.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:33 PM
Christ since it was 46-19 Raps we are on a 35 to 14 run.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:34 PM
Good thing Bosh has been just as bad as Al if not worse.

Raskolnikov
11-26-2006, 02:34 PM
Seems RC hasn't run out of half time speeches yet. He might soon though...

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:34 PM
Ok Tins has found his three point shot but lost his passing abilities.

Yep.

bnd45
11-26-2006, 02:34 PM
Al is hitting the boards. He needs to bring Foster-like energy when the shot isn't falling.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:35 PM
Tinsley's turnovers are killing what would otherwise be a great game for him.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:36 PM
If we actually went to the hole at all this game we might already have it tied up.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:36 PM
JO is really playing hard defensively, a very solid effort.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:38 PM
Got hit that Jack.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:38 PM
Tins needs to stop passing and just keep scoring.

bellisimo
11-26-2006, 02:40 PM
4pt game...

maybe RC is onto something here....
go on cruise control the first half...save energy....make the other team relax thinking its going to be a blowout...and hit 'em with what you got when they're least expecting it.... :D

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:42 PM
We have to be the goofiest most inconsistent team in the history of the NBA.

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:43 PM
Jack with the brilliant 3-point play. DAMN.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:45 PM
Of course we allow Calderon back to back hoops and the Raps are back up by 8.

Trader Joe
11-26-2006, 02:46 PM
Runi is the only point in the game right now. Even tho it hasn't worked at all all season/

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:48 PM
Quis to the line for 2.

bellisimo
11-26-2006, 02:48 PM
gotta keep it in single digits....lets get it done

ajbry
11-26-2006, 02:49 PM

ajbry

Can't help but laugh at Saras' thought process on the last play of the 3rd. He stands there as if he wants to take it, but then dishes to Foster at the last second to attempt an awkward layup. 70-61 at the end of the 3rd.

Raskolnikov
11-26-2006, 02:51 PM
At least we still have a chance going into the fourth. Gotta start strong though!

Trader Joe

Jackson having a great game. A lot of people highlight his off nights but you have to give credit where credit is due. This game hes shot well, hasnt turnt the ball over and picked up a few assists with a couple rebounds.

JO, Tins and Granger also playing well.

That means a higher level, not to a lower level.

As a leader I have to agree it hasnt gone well but he has tried to change things (speaking to Rick and Larry) but theres only so much you can do when you have players like Al (The Blackhole) in your team.

One thing JO does well as a leader is in games he isnt shooting well or sees someone else having a good game he takes a back seat and concentrates on his shot blocking and rebounding.

AND WHY ARE WE TAKING THREE AFTER ****ING THREEEEEEEE.

It's actually the first time I am able to watch him live for the Pacers. And don't want to see anymore of him. And I am not talking about those misses. There are those 2 bad passes in the end that filled the glass. Good match, Danny and Jack!

I think Bball might be on to something here. This team doesn't have that toughness or the edge for some reason. The defense has gotten softer with Ron's departure.

JO, Jack, and Tins all have an edge and they play confident ball. But when Saras and Al are both on the floor in crucial stretches of the game, we get exploited and appear to be an incredibly soft team.

I can't believe anyone would be blaming Sarunas for this loss. I feel bad for this guy cuz clearly he's the scapegoat on this team for having a poor shooting night. First of all, i watched this game and he played pretty good defense on Calderon, probably better than Tinsley did. Secondly, he had no turnovers, as opposed to Tinsley who had 7. So yeah, he missed some shots but there's a lot of other people u can blame this loss on than him.

As I mentioned earlier - Pacers are very dependable on PG's. At least two of the PG's must have a good game to win. We have a mediocre PG position, but other positions are not strong either.

I watched the whole game and I really don't have any answers and I don't even know the correct questions to even ask. I'm very confused by this team.

I want to give credit to JO, he really battled today.

My only real thought on the Pacers team right now is - perhaps they are just a .500 team. Because there are times when I think Oh no, the wheels are a about to come off and the team is falling apart, but then they start playing better and I think OK, maybe they can be more than a .500 team.

I just don't know what to make of this team.

Edit: I was just thinking about this. Is there any part of the game that the Pacers excel in.

Rebounding - below average
Defense - average
Shooting - one of the worst in the NBA
Passing - average
Free throw shooting - average
Getting to the foul line - one of the worst in the NBA
Steals - average
Block shots - OK, here they lead the NBA

I could go down every category and the Pacers just seem extremely average

Agree completely. For the first time in a long time we have no reliable outside shooter and IMO that is the single biggest problem. No reggie and no Peja and therfore no go to guy. All the rest have their moments but none are consistent and by reliable outside shooter I don't mean 3 point shooter but someone who can put the ball in the basket from mid range. What is the first quarter stats for FG for this team?

I didn't care much for Peja.

Our go to guy that we are really missing is Artest. Reggie was still good at the end of games, but Artest was our best go to guy down the stretch from 02 to 04.

His psychotic ways just gutted us.

They probably lead in blocked shots because our overall intensity and defense is so bad many times that people just keep getting to the rim. If we ever could stop the penetrating and probing inside would people say our defense got worse if our blocked shots went down as a result?

Blocked shots should be the icing on the cake of a good defense... not the defense in and of itself.

IMHO...
