I voted for Gilbert, simply because our PG's are horrible at shutting down penetration as it is. With Gilbert, it's a whole other story.

where is the all of the above option on the poll...

I've got a new strategy for the guess the score. Put the pacers at 89-94 ppg and the opponent 10-15 points ahead. I feel confident I'll regain my status as the guess the score champion this year.

Keys to the game are... play the best basketball they possibly can and they might only lose by 5

So the starters change whether intentionally or by fate. I'll be interested to see if either Powell or Baston see some good minutes with Al and, I assume, DH still sidelined.

Whatever, go Pacers. Let's get this thing back together one damn way or another.

Jackson is better suited from the bench anyway.

Jack is much more effective in a 6th man type of role. Hopefully we'll see it tonight.

That last sequence with Foster pushing the ball out to Tinman yet not getting the rebound on the stat sheet is a perfect example of why Jeff needs to be on the floor. He does a lot more than what shows up in the box score.

When I was told this was going to be a more uptempo season for the Pacers, I foolishly assumed they meant we would be more uptempo, not every one of our opponents. Our D is embarassing.

No Jack and no Al in the starting lineup and we're already down 11-4. I thought that was the solution to our slow starts?

The remote might be making its way through the TV screen early tonight. Down 11 to another terrible team. We might be one of the worst teams in the league, and no I don't think I'm overreacting. Our outside shooting is nonexistent, inside game is inconsistent at best, and drives to the hoop are just annoying. And let's not forget that we are every team's good luck charm? In a shooting slump? Play the Pacers, you're bound to hit 80% of your shots...and the 20% you do miss? Don't worry, you'll get the offensive rebound shortly.

Sorry, I'm just quickly reaching my limit with this team ALREADY. Why oh WHY did I order League Pass this season???

Yeah, Lamar's been right on the money.

Pacers look bad on both ends tonight. Basically, they look like they've looked the past few games.

Based off the first quarter and the past few games, looks like we'll be on a four game losing streak after tonight (and lost 5 of our last 6 games). Maybe we're still learning a new system. But damn, if the learning curve is THIS steep, the payoff better damn well be worth it.

Well guys i wanted to wait until after the 10th game to pass any kind of judgement on this team, and since it appears that this one is over, we are just not that good straight up. Our lineup on the floor now : Saras, Marshall, Wacko, Powell, and Baston. Yikes. I wish i had the answers but i mean what can i say that hasn't already been driven into the ground. Jackson is terrible, he does more harm than good, I think we should keep with starting Quis. Rebounding might be the worst I've ever seen for an NBA team. Point guard situation is a nightmare. JO is not a premier player after all, we need a true center. Playing freaking Al Harrington at center is just not gonna work. Yada yada yada

Evan_The_Dude

Damn we suck.

Lamar Mundane
11-18-2006, 10:14 PM
I take it we're not doing very well judging from Lamar's post?

Well, let's see. We've allowed the Bucks to score 27 in the first after allowing 28 in the first the other night. We're being outrebounded 15-12 to the worst rebounding team in the league (which I imagine will refer to us in the near future). Mo Williams has pretty much used Sarunas like he's trying to show off for his girlfriend (which at this point may be the aforementioned Sarunas).

I used to watch teams like the Bulls post-Jordan and the Clippers (until recently) really struggle and just look inept doing it, and I used to remember thinking "Thank God we don't have to deal with that, and I hope we never do." It did occur to me that someday we would fall to that level, but I never ever thought it would happen so soon. Folks, this is not a good team, regardless of what happens tonight. And I don't mean to be pessimistic or a doomsayer, but this team just has that look of a team that will continue to implode and get even more frustrated with each passing game. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

PaceBalls
11-18-2006, 10:18 PM
I watched Jackson hit over 20 3-pointers in a row pregame 04 season. He is bound to get on a good streak eventually.

Mourning
11-18-2006, 10:19 PM
Well we seem to be down less then 10 points, while we are shooting like MEGA-crap, so I'm hoping we can get a little closer and just hope that we come out after half time with a new spirit.

Lamar Mundane
11-18-2006, 10:20 PM
I don't think anyone on this team could win one of those halftime shooting contests that they have for the fans. And I don't mean the halfcourt ones, I mean the layup, free throw, 3 point contest!!

11-18-2006, 10:39 PM
So, the Pacers come out of a timeout and:

-turn the ball over immediately
-give up two back-to-back 3's

This team is inept at virtually everything right now. Seriously, I can't think of anything that this team has done well tonight.

PostArtestEra
11-18-2006, 10:40 PM
It seems to me that are only problems are that we're out of sync offensively, we don't play good defense, we don't rebound, we turn the ball over too much, and we don't get to the line often enough.

rimock31
11-18-2006, 10:41 PM
Watching Sarunas and DA work together really reminds me of Sarunas and Derrick Sharp at Maccabi. For those who don't know (like RC), Sarunas was the playmaker and sharp used to hit the open threes when they won their championships...

Unless we see vast improvement, there had better be a trade by the deadline.

I know, it's very early. It's still November. But if we're still playing like this one month from now, there has to be a change somewhere. Either with the players or the coach.

Agreed, as well as the other posters who have made a similar comment.

These last 3 performances certainly dictate a need for a drastic change. We all knew it would be rough with the new system and players, but this is unacceptable.

As much as I like JO, I would not be surprised to see him traded at this point. It just ain't working right now.

I don't think that we will continue to see mediocre play. I know its just 9 games into the season....but I have seen nothing that gives me any hope for any improvement.

Either with the players or the coach.

I don't get it. When Jack has a couple bad possessions, people say something. When he hits a 3 and steals it twice in a row, nobody says anything.

What was the Bogut technical for?

J_2_Da_IzzO
11-18-2006, 11:42 PM
Either him or Okafor.

This year Okafor seems like a monster but JO has really had the shotblocking on a lock on a consistent basis since he first arrived here. Just seems like this year them few pounds he shedded gives him that extra agility.

That's because Jack hitting a 3 and then stealing it twice in a row happens much less then him bricking a 3 pointer or losing the ball when he tries to take it into the lane against 2 defenders.

J_2_Da_IzzO

Although we have hit a nice amount of threes I still think 21 attempts is not acceptable for this team. And if we could hit more free throws this game would be done by now.

EXACTLY!

So do I but it looks unlikely now. Every possession for Bucks seems like its a foul leading to the freebies or settling for jumpers because they are scared of the big bad JO.

True but this will give the team some sort of illusion that we are a good shooting team and next game it might not work out well for us costing us yet again. But hey for now....

WHOOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

JO so close to the triple double.

Ok, I'm always doggin' him out, so I'll give him credit when he's playing well. SJax has made 3 or 4 big plays down the stretch here.

(and yes, I did come back after I said I was done for the night b/c I was following the game by the posts on here. )

WE got lucky and still have a great deal of work to do. There should be no celebration. We should beat the BUCKS! The shots by Tins and Jack at the end of the game were stupid. Use ur brains!! OT, but for anyone who has league pass, good game b/w Jazz and Suns. Deron Williams is becoming a star PG very quickly, taking over down the stretch. And with the Jazz down 3, Mehmet Okur just shot a 3 and got fouled, and the shot nearly went down!!

He just hit all 3 to tie...

Barbosa just missed his second bunny layup, and Jazz have the ball to go for the win w/ 1.4 sec left. Feel free to cut and paste that on the other thread ;)
