Wow. Popovich is 11-0 when winning Game 1. Jackson is 37-0 when winning Game 1. And in all 9 playoff series' between the Lakers and Spurs, the winner of Game 1 went on to win the series.

Important game? :o

GO :spurs:!

Shaq misses three consecutive layups. One of them a brick, the other an airball. :rotflmao:

Jeez, Parker is fast. He's been breaking ankles all day -- even Kobe's.

Shade
05-02-2004, 04:35 PM
Pure BS call on Parker there -- one of the worst I've ever seen. Of course, the Lakers are in the bonus  so Kobe goes to the line.

Rasho managed to shoot both free throws level with the rim. :unimpressed:

Hicks

Not at all surprising that these two teams are #28 and #29 in the league in FT shooting. Ugh.

Shade

Spurs 1-9 from the line, Lakers 12-17. :pissed:

Ref: "Ooh! Shaq dunked it! FOUL FOUL!" :unimpressed:

That, and the foul on Parker against Kobe earlier are two of the worst calls I've ever seen. Neither player was so much as breathed on.

Bowen continues to maul & maim with only limited results and almost no ramifications by the Referees.

Kobe just killing him right now. Wonder if Pop will have anything to say about Bowen for DPOY after this game =\

Spurs end the last 5 minutes on a 16-2 run. Spurs up 7.

Lakers bitc# slap the woeful Spurs to start the 3rd period 13-3 and are now utilizing their Shaq/Kobe strategy to perfection, imo.

Bowen continues to maul & maim with only limited results and almost no ramifications by the Referees.

Hmmm.......... things are heating up rather nicely it appears.

Funny how you come on now that they are leading.... :unimpressed:

LZC, what's your gut feeling on Kobe resigning this summer?

Maybe we should have drafted Parker :o

KOBE will be a Knick or a Grizzlie or some other team's player next season is my gut feeling.

This should be the FA story of the offseason. I could see Memphis; West has enough nice pieces without outrageous contracts that a S&T is possible. I don't see how the Knicks could do it but I'm sure Isiah will throw his hat into the ring. I just wonder how Kobe feels about leaving the most dominant big man in the game. I realize there are issues there but when the Lakers are firing on all cylinders they're really a cut above anyone else in the league.

Shaq should really give the underhand free throws a try. He's got nothing to lose. Duncan too for that matter (4-11). You could make a case that the awful FT shooting by both Duncan and Shaq cancels the other out.

I hate both teams almost equally.. (Slight edge to the lakers but only because of Karl Malone)

So I do want the Spurs to beat the Lakers. But I do want the Pacers to beat the LAkers in the Finals.... I'm torn I dont know who to root for...

Hicks
05-02-2004, 09:52 PM
I'm a confessed Laker hater, and San Antonio is my 2nd favorite team, so there's no confusion as to why I root for the Spurs

Anytime.

Graciousness is one important aspect in the demeanor exhibited by any true Champion.

It looks to be the Pacers year.

Some of you have much to learn if you are to publicly represent your team adequately.

We didn't beat the Lakers, so there's nothing to be gracious about yet. Tell 'ya what...if we beat the Lakers in the Finals, we'll be gracious about it.

And if we beat the Lakers in the finals, i know I WON"T be gracious about it. I am going to lay it on thick. Because I hate them sooooo bad.
