Last night the announcers were laughing at a quote from a fan to Grant Hill during an especially quiet lull in the action.

It went something like this:

Fan: "Grant, how does it feel to be playing this late in the season?"

Grant really loud: "It feels great"

Did anyone at the game hear this?

The best game Grant Hill ever played was right here in Indianapolis, in 1991. Some of you can remember it!!! He's awesome!!!!

When he was at Duke?

When he was at Duke?

yep ... he was a freshman (I believe), and the very first play of the game against UNLV, he threw down a lob that was 5 feet from the rim. He was spectacular. Duke, with Bobby Hurley at the point, went on to win the Championship game.

They were playing the feared UNLV Runnin Rebels with the Shark Jerry Tarkanian as coach, and Stacy Augmon, Greg Anthony, and Larry Johnson as their WMD's. They were feared throughout the NCAA, and had won the 90 Championship (against Duke) going away.

Grant's an all around great player who has been plagued by injuries throughout, but has maintained balance and determination. My hats off to him, he deserves to play to his potential.
