Etan, Haywood Reportedly In Recent Fight
By Ivan Carter
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, November 7, 2006

ORLANDO, Nov. 6 -- Washington Wizards centers Etan Thomas and Brendan Haywood were involved in a physical altercation last Thursday in which the two traded punches at Verizon Center, according to two team sources.

One source, who requested anonymity because the team was trying to keep the incident private, said Thomas was angry over comments made by Haywood's agent, Andy Miller, on Oct. 30.

Miller was critical of Coach Eddie Jordan's decision to select Thomas as the starting center over Haywood, believing Jordan chose Thomas out of personal animosity toward Haywood rather than performance. "My concern is that this is based on personal issues rather than professional ones," Miller said the day of the decision.

Thomas felt that Miller's comments were a slight toward him, he approached Haywood and threw the first punch once the argument escalated, a source said. According to the source, Haywood responded to the punch by body-slamming Thomas to the ground, tearing out at least two of Thomas's dreadlocks in the process. The two players were separated by teammates and the altercation ended.

I think we're going to see Al go off tonight because Jamison is such a terrible defender, and as a result Jermaine will go off too. I think when one of these 2 has a great game, the other is going to benifit. Look for a combined 45 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course Jermaine will get his standard 4 blocks too.

Everyone, I have some bad news. Tonight's play by play might be the last one I do in a while. The TV in the office room is being moved to my brother's room. I've tried everything to try and keep it in here, but all hope has been lost.

Sorry to everyone who depended on me to do them since they were unable to watch the games.

Harrison 3 fouls in under 7 minutes. Niiiiiiiiiiice

Yep. I think he has a lot of potential but I am positive he's never going to realize it unless he understands how to avoid committing these fouls.

But first he has to understand that it can be avoided. He said:

I donít think you can really work on that. You know, I play aggressively and I hit people and Iím a bigger guy. If I have more mass than the person I hit, my force is going to exert on them. So I donít think you can really work on that. :hmm:

Harrison is going to generally suck with flashes of brilliance as long as he continues to think this is about physics instead of basketball smarts.

What a minute.

There is a flagrant foul call, he makes the basket, he gets two free throws and they keep the ball. WTF was it a flagrant foul 3.

What is 2 to make 1.

What am I watching

It's a Flagrant 2 on a made basket, which means he gets 2 shots to make 1. If he would have hit the 1st he wouldn't have gotten a 2nd.

Quit commiting TURNOVERS!!

you can see it that way, esspecially since there's games that you can look back on because of position in the playoffs or something like that, but when you have players like shaq who it seems like they only put in their best efforts during the playoffs it makes you wonder it the earlier stages of the season mean anything

Good game by Arenas, but this game kinda highlights why I don't think he'll ever be a truly great player... He has games where he has horrible shooting nights and ends up playing a bad game (and he either can't or won't find a way to get himself in the game) and then he'll follow those games up with monster games. Some consistency would go a long way for him.
