Having an elite big man makes the Pacers an under-the-radar contender (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/marty_burns/11/07/inside.nba/index.html), writes Marty Burns. Behind Jermaine O'Neal, Indiana handed the 76ers their first defeat with a 97-86 victory (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/basketball/nba/11/07/sixers.pacers.ap/index.html).

Its 4 games into the season, they almost have to be using last season as a reference point. And if you look at what we did last season and what they did, they were more impressive.

If it hadn't been for "Questionable Officiating" who knows how far they could have gone.

A nice change to build up on. Positive feedback is precisely what our team needed after opening week. I just hope our team keeps it up.

I dunno...I kinda like everyone underestimating us. It worked post-brawl.

It's the same article that's posted on NBA.com.

Good piece. It's very nice to read that this team has started off on the right foot and that everyone is pulling for each other, giving 100% effort and playing the right way. It's also good to see them get alittle respect in the sports world. Still, it's far too early to get too excited about things. There's still lots of basketball left to play.

If my boyz are still doing this well in February '07, then I'll do a happy dance!! :pineapple For now, it's far too soon to break out the :alcohol: or even thing about crowning them :champions . I think I'll keep a watchfull eye out :eek2: for now...see how long they can keep up this newfound team spirit which is certainly a good thing!

This Pacers team is damn good. Considering the talent of the 61 win team, I think this team should win atleast 50. Of course I think Ron Artest and his Stephen Jackson-esque offense and team cancer is one of the most overrated players in the league.

"hater alert". A cheap shot at Jack while not even offer him a bit a credit for is contribution to the teams succes so far, classy. It's rediculas to pretend like Ron has Jackson-esque problems. Artest is a nutjob, Jack is simply emotional. I just ask some of the people here to wait until something bad happens before they continue urning the board into a wastedump with there biased constant complaing. I have notice the hate die down since the start of the season but it seams some people loft cheap shots at Jack simply to be part of the "cool" group.
