Hey BC,

I'm glad to get the pre-season started. I was out of town Wednesday and missed the offical start.

Just wanted to say thanks for the effort before every game. You and several others are what makes this the greatest basketball board on the internet.

Again, thanks for everything.

I am excited to see Granger vs. AK-47 as well as JO and Al's play with each other. Oh and there is that little matter of Jack's first appearance. I voted for him as best option at the two barring a trade.

The "boo" is for Jackson.

Los Angeles

HOLY COW - DirecTV is using the WIBC feed for Audio.

I hope that's not a mistake.

10-14-2006, 07:03 PM
Very anxious to see JO and Al on the floor together. Hopefully they can both dominate and not fight over shots/touches.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:04 PM
Odd - they cut the feed for the WIBC commercial, but now Mark Boyle and Slick are back.

I LOVE THIS!

Los Angeles

Cool - the feed is now showing what they show on the center court screens.

I never get to see that.

WIBC coming in loud and clear.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:14 PM
Jamal steals - but then hangs on to the ball too long on the break.

Granger should have still made the shot though.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:15 PM
Great pass to Granger under the basket.

JO throws it away. We almost recover.

2 seconds on shot clock.

Marshal has no idea that time is short and is caught hanging around - shot **** violation.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:21 PM
Other end - Jazz player looks hurt bad - smacked the back of his head on the floor something awful.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:21 PM
Who is that? Faber?

ajbry
10-14-2006, 07:22 PM
Damn, this is pissing me off. WIBC isn't even working.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:22 PM
Fisher can't even walk on his own - he's out for the night.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:23 PM
Jack has shaved his head no more braids.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:23 PM
WOW - half court offense looked like 03/04 but when Al finishes that way, it still looks good.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:24 PM
JO takes the hard charge.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:24 PM
Too much one on one play for me.

Nice play by JO taking the charge.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:24 PM

Slick's term for a tiny and quick guard = Jitterbug.

"Welp, they might put one of those jitterbug's out there now". - Slick after Fisher walked off.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:25 PM
JO working both ends.

Tinsley caught on defense.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

I got that when I went to WIBC through that website...any ideas?

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:27 PM
TINS FOR THREE!!! Way to make up for a blown play guys.

We are trying too hard to push the pace.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:28 PM
WOW - that was a bunch of crappy throw-it-away basketball.

Tins makes up for 2 straight bad full-court passes by getting the loose ball and nailing a 3.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:28 PM
15-14 Pacers.

We are trying too hard to push the pace like I said we still need to learn that we don't have to go EVERY time. I do like the effort tho.

I don't even get an error message. I just hit the play button, and it says Ready and doesn't play anything. Ugh.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:30 PM
this is awesome - I'm watching all the timeout entertainment.

Is that Ashley Bidwell?

HERE COMES JACK!!!

sweabs
10-14-2006, 07:31 PM
Jackson just went in. I didn't hear many boos (probably because he was also introduced with Armstrong and Foster).

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:31 PM
Boyle said it right - sloppy quarter.

Trader Joe

Deron WIlliams looks awesome.

Too many fouls.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:36 PM
Jack looks horrible misses layup. DH follows and taps it in.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:37 PM
Utah caught sleeping on the shot ****.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:37 PM
Deron Williams shows he is still inexperienced completely blows a shot clock.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:38 PM
Jack looked like crap. The rest of the team wasn't very good either. Al probably played the best of anyone.

Isaac
10-14-2006, 07:39 PM
So great to hear Mark and Slick.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:39 PM
This is the greatest feed ever. I'm getting all the break entertainment - no commercials and Mark & Slick on the audio.

ROFL - Kiss Cam is on!

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:40 PM
Derek Fisher may have broken his tailbone.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:40 PM
15 turnovers combined in the first quarter.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:42 PM
New season, same ole Jack I don't think hes passed once.

bnd45
10-14-2006, 07:44 PM
Armstrong in before Sarunas? Carlisle going with D over O.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:45 PM
Yeah, Jack isn't playing well.

Neither is Harrison.

Plus, harrison is acting like a baby when he gets called on fouls.

Some things never change.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:45 PM
Sarunas and Powell in.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:46 PM

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:48 PM
My God Jack is just awful, awful. This is the worst I have ever seen him play.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:48 PM
Another shot clock violation - 11 turn over so far. :o

bnd45
10-14-2006, 07:48 PM
3 TOs in the 1st for Tinsley and D. Williams torched him. We won't be running long if he can't take care of the ball. (I love his vision, but there are times when he's just way too careless with the ball)

Isaac
10-14-2006, 07:49 PM
This is such a sloppy game.

Jack seems anxious to do something positive and is forcing it.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:49 PM
This is gross to watch 4 minutes into the second q and 23 combined tos.

MAKE THAT 24 DAMN IT.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:49 PM
Sarunas follows a bad turnover with a dumb foul.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:49 PM
Saras picked clean - then fouls.

It's called a clear path foul.

bnd45
10-14-2006, 07:50 PM
Sarunas gets picked clean- good times.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:50 PM
25 combined turnovers. yawn

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:50 PM
Brown with another steal - wow that guy's fast.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:50 PM
Shawne in.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:51 PM
Not a fun game to watch.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:51 PM
This is gross. I'm assuming it has something to do with nothing resembling an actual rotation yet.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:52 PM
Utah up 28-21.

Timeout.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:52 PM
Make that hoping. Cause right now we suck. We need to develop a rotation Rick's subs are too eratic even for preseason.

tora tora
10-14-2006, 07:53 PM
I really don't like Shawne Williams. He's too "generic".

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:53 PM
Cool - my first Pacemates dance routine in years.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:55 PM

We now return you to your programing.

10-14-2006, 07:56 PM
Rick was complaining about Al's shot selection?

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:56 PM
Dee can hoop. Drops a deep 3.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:56 PM
Brown with a great game.

Guy's killing us on both ends.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:57 PM
JO is putting the ball on the floor a ton.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:57 PM
WHAT A LOOK JO TO RAWLE DUNK!!

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:57 PM
YES - Oneal feeds Marshal for the slam.

Trader Joe
10-14-2006, 07:59 PM
I love Al. He just stole the ball from Dee brown at half court.

Los Angeles
10-14-2006, 07:59 PM
O foul on Granger.

Both teams have more turnovers than FGs.

Ugh.

So who are you benching up front? Rotating 5 bigs would cut minutes of the 4 guys ahead of Powell.

We're gonna struggle against teams with good PGs because Tinsley chooses to play no D, and Sarunas can't play D. Orien Greene and Armstrong are going to have bigger roles on this team than most people think.

Where's the uptempo offense been? Daniels needs to return ASAP.

Utah 97, Indiana 84
Final Box Score (http://www.nba.com/games/20061014/UTAIND/boxscore.html)

October 14, 2006

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Deron Williams had 24 points to lead the Utah Jazz to a 97-84 victory over the Indiana Pacers in a preseason game Saturday night.

Despite the win, Utah (1-1) may have suffered a big blow as starting guard Derek Fisher left the game early in the first quarter after falling hard to the ground on a drive to the basket. Fisher came down on his back and head and was taken to the hospital for x-rays on his pelvis.

Al Harrington had 22 points and Jermaine O'Neal scored 17 to lead the Pacers (1-1), who were missing a number of players due to injuries.

Pacers guard Stephen Jackson didn't start Saturday's game but played off the bench. The 28-year-old had missed the team's opening preseason game after he was arraigned Thursday on a felony charge of criminal recklessness and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct as a result of an incident at an Indianapolis strip club last week.

Jackson was booed several times by the crowd.

He made his first appearance of the preseason with 3:13 left in the first quarter and finished the game with six points in 23 minutes.

O'Neal was also making his preseason debut against the Jazz. He missed Wednesday's 103-89 victory over New Jersey after attending a court date in Michigan in a lawsuit stemming from the brawl with Detroit Pistons fans two years ago.

Utah, which took a 21-19 lead into the second quarter, used a 9-0 run to go ahead 30-21 in the first quarter. Indiana cut the deficit to four late in the quarter following a pair of Jackson free throws, but a Dee Brown 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Jazz a 43-37 halftime lead.

Utah took its biggest advantage, 70-56, after Williams' layup with more than three minutes left in the third quarter.

Indiana was playing without Maceo Baston (sore foot), Marquis Daniels (sore hamstring), John Edwards (sore groin) and Orien Green (broken finger).

Utah was without forward Andrei Kirilenko (sore lower back).

O'Neal seemed to be forcing a lot of shots. His movement wasn't really flowing with the offense. I think he needs more time to fit in.. Which is pretty weird to say because it's Al that should be trying to fit in, not J.O. As of now, it looks like JO is the one that we just got via sign and trade and Al looks like he's been here 7 seasons.

If JO continues to look the way he looked tonight, it won't take TPTB long to realize he might need to be moved to find a player that fits a little better. Hopefully that won't happen. He does look a lot more trim and athletic, but needs to work on securing his rebounds.
