Winterthur Barcelona - Philadelphia 76ers 104-99
Asvel - San Antonio Spurs 90-115

i know it's only first game of the season, but Sixers looked really poor. Iverson had 13 points, but hit just 7/13 Fts and like 3/20 FGs. Defense by Webber was pathetic, slow and white Europeans dunked few times way too easy because of his passive defense. 3 point line was by NBA rules, but americans were killed by it anyway - Navarro and Basile hit two threepointers to decide the game late in 4th quarter. Philly had about 2 threepointers all game long.

Another result is understandable - Asvel even dont play in Euroleague, I dont understand what they are doing in this project

Oyy.......its going to be a long season for Iverson and the Sixers. A 3/20 FG showing by Iverson sucks.....and Webber's rather cr@plike defense is no surprise. What a way to start the preseason for the Sixers.

Put dipperdunk on suicide watch. First the 6ers do nothing all off season and now they lose to a Euroleague team. Not looking good for Phily...

I don't understand it either. I guess NBA teams will play Lichtenstein, Switerland and Norway clubs next season. Those countries have money and don't like basketball, same as France.

Did Ronaldinho and Messi play?

They weren't allowed to play, this time it was Iverson's promo campaign. Iverson demonstrated his acting skills.

I didn't realize this was the first loss for an NBA team versus a European team...I thought that **** happened at least once a preseason...

It was on Sportscenter...but they said "in Europe" as well, although they didn't stress it so I wasn't sure.

I don't do research...my claims are all unsubstantiated.

I apologize...?

I just saw the ESPN replay - I take back my earlier claim that there wasn't a stress on the words "in Europe"...there is irrefutable evidence that suggests otherwise.

Israeli sport clubs play in European competitions, but it doesn't make Israel European country.

Barca's win yeasterday was the first "European victory" against NBA.
