Not so much about what he said but did anybody else see that? From what I can tell he looks like he looks like he used to, he doesn't have that chubby face as much as he used to when he bulked up to bang down low. Lets just hope Tinsley did something about his issues too I'm really excited about this season.

He does look thinner. I don't know if that has to do with the shaved head or what........but it brings back memories of when we first acquired him. And to me, that's a good thing! I've been waiting for him to get back to that type of player for too long now.

maybe someone could dig up some younger pictures of JO and put them size by size the picture that slade has in his post for compare and contrast purposes?

Wow, I'm so glad the rows are gone.

I know it sounds silly, but small things like cutting off your hair seem to symbolize a fresh start.

Wow, JO appears to be going back to when he was first a Pacer, with no more rows and slimming down. OOOOOOOHhhhhhhhhhh man I am sooooo excited for this season. I think JO is just gonna be going off from game 1.

My favorite part is Bird's line at the end.

"Talk is cheap, the proof is what happens out there on the court. Just watch."

These kinds of things really pump me I'm up. I guess I'm just a sucker for these feel-good ads.

JO with no braids! Kind of weird to look at. Brings back some pretty good memories though.

Wasn't everyone freaking out when JO added bulk? Saying things like, "Great! YES! Now he wont get shoved around the low post!"

According to someone who's seen him recently, he has cut his braids. At last sight he had short hair and a Ricky Williams-style beard.

As Mark Boyle used to say after Dale'd cut his fro and had a productive game, hopefully, it's the Samson theory in reverse.

Is it just me or does JO look 12 years old?

I'm gonna give up a thumbs up to the weight drop thing. When JO was light, his quickness and movement didn't really fit with our grind it out style, so he bulked up. Hopefully, this year we can match a quick, agile JO with a quick, agile offense. Ah, the offseason, when hope springs eternal.

FYI, this appeared during Smallville tonight.

And yes, it's nice to see JO slimmed down, and it's also nice to hear Larry say, "Talk is cheap."

Of course, we always assume JO played better because he weighed less. Maybe it's just he was playing for Zeke.

Now when the playoffs come around we can go bald.

I was thinking the same thing, actually. I will NEVER forget Smits shaving his head and looking like a big, tall, goofy looking, white, bald guy (as opposed to a big, tall, goofy looking, white, hairy guy). The closest we'll have is Sarunas...unless we keep Edwards around.

Can anyone hook a brother up with a Mac-compatible version of this video? Or, at the very least, a transcript of what is said.

And someone has to somehow get a pic of SJax! I want to see this shaved-head, bearded SJax!

I'm actually really excited about Jack, beard edition. A solid 10 on the excitement scale. Let's just hope he doesn't shave it.

Naw...it'll be longer in width...like Ricky Williams or the Cavs in the playoffs. I wonder if he'll have any other facial hair or if that will be it. It's intriguing.

J.O. is conforming to what he thinks the fans want to see.
I don't care braids or not. I think alot cats are going with a cleaner look.
Larry still has that funny accent.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

He sounds like he should be at the dinner table in a red flannel shirt heaping out mash potatos with a big family sized spoon!

Man, no kidding! He looked like he came straight from chemo to the arena to take another shot at it. I still have a couple of those games on videotape and I still laugh out loud every time I see that bald head. The mullet was pretty nice too, but definitely not Playoff appropriate.

I liked the playoff mohawks too for DH and VP.

I agree. They tried it because it seemed like a sound idea, and that's why fans thought it would work too.

After a few years of injuries and the loss of some of his faster moves I think everyone involved realized that it wasn't a very productive change after all. At least they had the sense to recognize it and attempt to fix the problem rather than hanging onto a non-effective solution.

Naptown_Seth

On the video - Man is Donnie A LOT more polished as a speaker than Rick, Larry or JO. JO isn't too bad, but DW has a very natural delivery, sounds like he's speaking off the top of his head instead of a cue card.

ok...so here's my guess of what he might look like then

http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/7779/newsjaxeb8.jpg
Jeff Bagwell?

His set shot stance is a little like Bagwell's batting stance I guess. :)

Of course, we always assume JO played better because he weighed less. Maybe it's just he was playing for Zeke.
