View Full Version : Pacers Digest Vote: #17 Point Guard

08-04-2006, 01:37 PM
The goal of this project is to determine the general consensus on Pacers Digest of who the best players are at each position in the NBA: Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard, and Point Guard.

However, do not worry about the positions. I have tried to put everyone at their proper position, but what I am trying to do here is vote for the best overall player, at the position I happened to put them. The objective of each poll is to determine the best player listed, not the best pure positional player.

This thread is to vote for the best remaining point guard in the NBA. You have 24 hours from the time this thread is posted to vote!

Once each position has 30 players ranked, the project will end, and a final tally will be posted in a new thread.

The top point guards so far, as voted by Pacers Digest members, are:

#1 Steve Nash
#2 Allen Iverson
#3 Gilbert Arenas
#4 Chris Paul
#5 Chauncey Billups
#6 Jason Kidd
#7 Tony Parker
#8 Kirk Hinrich
#9 Jason Terry
#10 Mike Bibby
#11 Sam Cassell
#12 Baron Davis
#13 Andre Miller
#14 Stephon Marbury
#15 Steve Francis
#16 Mike James

Today's nominees* for best point guard remaining are:

T.J. Ford
Devin Harris
Allen Iverson
Brevin Knight
Shaun Livingston
Jameer Nelson
Luke Ridnour
Jamaal Tinsley
Delonte West
Deron Williams
Jason Williams

* I can't please everyone with the position I put certain guys, so the way I see it is this:

If I've made such a colossal mistake, it can easily be corrected by you, the voter. How? I will always have "Other" as an option. All you have to do is vote for it, and state for the record in a reply which player you thought deserved the vote. If the majority of people do this, then that player will still win this poll. It just takes a little more effort then two clicks of the mouse. But if you're too lazy to do that, then you have no right to whine about it later. :-p

I voted for Harris. I've never seen this guy, Tinsley, that everyone is voting for. Is he the chunky one in the 3 piece suit?

Livingston will be Top 10 next year. Kid stays healthy, he's gonna be really good.

Totally agree. I think getting Sam Cassell was great for him...he is going to be brought along slowly. By the time Sam retires and Nash is seriously slowed, Shaun and CP3 will be ruling the NBA.

Jameer Nelson is a future multi-time All-Star.

Sad. Shaun Livingston is the best PG by far. Almost everyone up there is better than Jamaal. If we're going by the "if he's healthy" thing, then it's still Livingston.

Last season, Tinsley averaged 9 points and 5 assists in 42 games while Jameer Nelson averaged 15 points and 5 assists in 62 games while shooting 48% from FG range and 42% from 3point range. And yet some how, some way, Tinsley is getting more votes?

See anything wrong with this picture?

Nelson or Felton.
