If Harrington returns, who will wear #3? Sarunas has it now. Would he hand it over to Al if Al comes back?

(I apologize if this has been discussed here already. I don't get much time to check in here these days.)

He won't have a choice. Al will slap him and take it. Then he'll make Runakevicus get him some damn pancakes.

Billy Knight. What? Number? Who cares? I just want Al already. We better be getting two first round picks in two very deep drafts and Boris Diaw with this.

Saras will keep #3, unless Al offers him a substancial ammount of money, which I doubt he does. I woudl bank on Al wearing #25 next season.

Sarunas would do well to change his # again, but that is his choice. I doubt he has any fond memories of playing with #3 on his chest....so maybe he should give it to Al ...but Al left and lost his right to #3 or any number on the Pacers.

I thought Sarunas wore #3 because he was third string. Mabey number 4 or 5 will be available.

This is starting to get annoying (Runakevicius, SlowRunus, etc...). It's OK, that you don't like a player, but you must to respect other members (like me), who like him.

I guess Sarunas will give the number if Al asks him...

I'd like to see Al wear 3, Sarunas wear 13, and then Harrison can wear 00 for all I care.

WTF? That was my respectful version. I used to call him Suckakevicus, but then the admins made some rule how we can't insult the players, so now I call him Runakevicus. It's not insulting at all.

I call him that because A) I hate the name Runi. B) I hate the name Saras C) I just hate him in general. But it's still not an insult

Yes I agree, he is doing this **** also on Realgm. Calling Saras all kinds of names, it's really pathetic!

Hopefully Runi will be traded and Harrington can have 3 without an incident.

Well considering Walsh already almost traded him, I think its very realistic. Because this team rarely trades guys, especially if they are just rookies.

Didn't Sarunas wear some other number overseas or at Maryland? Al definitely wore 25 back in the day but I have a feeling he'll be wearing 3 if he comes back, and I don't know what Sarunas will do, but I bet he cares a lot less than Al.

pacers31tc

Looks like Sarunas wore 13 at Maryland, in Israel, and for Lithunia, and DH has current tabs on that, so Sarunas was only using 3 as a substitute, I bet he'll find something else w/ 3 in it when Al asks for 3 back.

13 - Taken
3 - Current
1 - Taken
31 - :nono:
30 - :nono:
33 - Taken
1+3 - Taken (4)
3-1 - Possible (2)

He said when he got here he would have taken #1 if it were available (or he suggested as such "Well, 13 is taken, and 1 is taken, so I went with 3"), so if we do ship Jack out the door before training camp, he might jump to that and give Al #3 back.

I honestly think Al could will not even give a second thought about asking for number 3, he will probably will just go with 25 or something else.

It belongs to Sarunas, he can do as he sees fit. I've heard that sometimes an incoming player will buy it off of the guy who has it via cash, favors, or whatever (I think a pitcher in the AL MLB washed another guys car for a few months to have the number or something like that).

I think some guy sued Clinton Portis for not paying him off fully for whatever number he asked from him.

Washington Redskins (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=was) running back Clinton Portis (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5937) is disputing a claim that he owes money to a former teammate in exchange for a jersey number.

Portis' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, responded Thursday to a breach of contract complaint filed by Arizona Cardinals (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ari) and former Redskins safety Ifeanyi Ohalete (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5741). The complaint claims Portis owes $20,000 of $40,000 promised when Ohalete gave Portis the jersey No. 26 during a Redskins minicamp in June.

"We have a position on that that is different from theirs," Rosenhaus said.
Rosenhaus would not specify how Portis plans to contest the complaint, filed Wednesday in Maryland District Court in Upper Marlboro.

"We're not going to handle that publicly," Rosenhaus said.

Portis and Ohalete made the deal after months of negotiations following Portis' offseason trade from Denver to Washington. Portis wore No. 26 during his two seasons with the Broncos and wanted to wear it with the Redskins, but Ohalete already had the number from his three seasons with the team.

The two signed a contract June 4 stipulating that Portis would pay $40,000 for the number, according to Ohalete's attorney, John Steren. Steren said

Portis paid $20,000 up front but did not make two subsequent payments of $10,000 due during the season.

"Clinton has been more than generous with Ifeanyi," Rosenhaus said.
Steren said Thursday that he had not been contacted by a representative for Portis and did not know how Portis would fight the complaint.

"We'll have to wait and see what he comes up with," Steren said. "It's a fairly clear-cut contract. It's clear-cut terms."

Ohalete switched to No. 30 after making the deal, but was cut by the Redskins during training camp in August. The Cardinals claimed him off waivers, and he has become their starting free safety.

Portis has not commented on the matter. Ohalete, through his agent, said the dispute was "about honesty and principle."

"I held up my end of our deal and gave him my number. All I am asking is that he does what he agreed to do, and hold up his end of the deal as well. I don't think that is asking too much," Ohalete said.

Why would anyone be surprised?

He is a superagent, and he gets a lot of his clients from UM, where Portis went to school.

who will wear #3?

With the ammount of minimum salary, non-guarenteed, soon-to-be-cut, no-name guys that The Don & The Legend are picking up, I starting to think maybe I'll be wearing #3 for the Pacers next year.

I've always been #31 previously, but I think that might already be taken.
