The goal of this project is to determine the general consensus on Pacers Digest of who the best players are at each position in the NBA: Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard, and Point Guard.

However, do not worry about the positions. I have tried to put everyone at their proper position, but what I am trying to do here is vote for the best overall player, at the position I happened to put them. The objective of each poll is to determine the best player listed, not the best pure positional player.

This thread is to vote for the best remaining center in the NBA. You have 24 hours from the time this thread is posted to vote!

Once each position has 30 players ranked, the project will end, and a final tally will be posted in a new thread.

The top centers so far, as voted by Pacers Digest members, are:

#1 Shaquille O'Neal
#2 Yao Ming
#3 Dwight Howard
#4 Ben Wallace
#5 Amare Stoudemire
#6 Chris Kaman
#7 Marcus Camby
#8 Brad Miller
#9 Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Today's nominees* for best center remaining are:

Andrew Bogut
Primoz Brezec
P.J. Brown
Tyson Chandler
Eddy Curry
Samuel Dalembert
David Harrison
Nenad Krstic
Jeff Foster
Jamaal Magloire
Chris Mihm
Nazr Mohammed
Alonzo Mourning
Nene
Zaza Pachulia
Joel Przybilla
Kurt Thomas

* I can't please everyone with the position I put certain guys, so the way I see it is this:

If I've made such a colossal mistake, it can easily be corrected by you, the voter. How? I will always have "Other" as an option. All you have to do is vote for it, and state for the record in a reply which player you thought deserved the vote. If the majority of people do this, then that player will still win this poll. It just takes a little more effort then two clicks of the mouse. But if you're too lazy to do that, then you have no right to whine about it later. :-p

The truth is I don't like anybody that's left more than Jeff, so I voted for him!

Jeff should not win for at least a few more rounds IMO.

Nenad will be higher on the list (or should be) in next year's PD polls. He's fantastic.

Kristic is more of a PF than a C. Jason Collins plays C...

I'm still voting Mourning because 20 minutes of Zo is better than 30 minutes of anyone not 1-5 in this list.

Ron who?

One question, did any of you see Nenad Krstic during the Miami series? Funny thing. Neither did I.

We should stop basing our judgments on how players do against the Pacers. If we did that then Brendan Haywood should be top 5 on this list.

I will vote for Other until Eric Dampier makes the list. Being a Mav fan there are still a couple on the lsit that i'd trade him for. Krstic isn't one of them Bogut is.
