View Full Version : Fred Jones to Lakers for Chris Mihm

The Lakers have always liked Fred , who probably could function well in the triangle.

Chris Mihm is signed for only one year at 4.2 mil , if Jeff Foster were involved in an Al Harrington trade , Mihm could slide in as his replacement . The Pacers would get a one year look at him and allow Harrison to develop.

Then next summer after Croshere's deal expires if Mihm played well enough they'd have more wiggle room to resign him , if not you let him go.

sounds good to me if Foster is the one going in an Al trade

I wouldn't object to that. I always thought Mihm was solid.

I'd do it, but I think it'd mess up LA's summer of 2007 plans, so I doubt they'd do it.

No thanks. Mihm is mediocre.

Just curious Diamond, is this something you've heard rumor of or is it something you just thought of to give us another option?

sounds good to me, and even reasonable given that they have publicly stated Kwame is their starter.

But it is reasonably only if they think Bynam is ready to be a backup and Kwame is mature enough to not do something stupid.

Mihm is actually pretty solid.

Their 2007 plan was destroyed when the extended Kwame and signed Radmanovic. They are trying to win now, and Freddie backing up Kobe would be a good thing. But, they do have Brian Cook behind Kobe now. Cook I think will be a find for some team. He has size and can shoot it. I so like Mihm also, so this trade would be a good one for us.

No thanks. They can do better than Fred Jones with the LLE.

I'm not suggesting this is a good trade for LA, but I seriously doubt they'll get a player for the LLE who is better than Freddie. And I'm not even a Fred Jones fan.

Mihm has been injured as of late but, I'd like to have him on the pacers. Lakers would be interested in moving him because he only has one year left on the contract. I'd rather trade Foster to get Mihm but, if we had to give freddy that would be okay too. Mihm would play more of a role because he would be a full time starter, and we are in direr need of a true Center. Also, Harrison would be a nice back up for Mihm. Freddy is off the bench and we are so solid at the 2 and 3 spots we can afford to move Fred. Trade sounds good to me.

Just not a good fit for him. His good points don't factor with the triangle and his bad points are Phil's pet peeves and/or bad for the spot he'd be playing in the Tri.

1. Doesn't make good decisions
2. Doesn't have good length
3. Doesn't play great defense
4. Not a great ball-handler (can't initiate)
5. Not a great shooter (can't spot-up)
6. He'd be learning a whole new system, one of the more difficult to get used to in the league.

As for who they could get with the LLE, they don't have to get anyone. Right now Freddie would be playing behind Smush, Sasha, Kobe, Profit (should they bring him back, which they probably will because before he got hurt, he had played very well) and probably Farmar.

If they do end up going after someone with the LLE, it will be a veteran to replace Aaron McKie on the bench.

Fred is signifigantly better than both Sasha and Laron, and atleast equal to Smush Parker.

No thanks. Mihm is mediocre.

And Freddie is an all-star? Besides we are talking about a S&T here, so what we get back is always going to be less then what we acquire.

I would be happy with this move.
