This year's draft is deep, with plenty of talent. But it could've been so much more. Maybe even the strongest ever. That's why so many GMs are playing the "what if" game the day before the draft. What if ... there were no age restriction and such elite high school players as Greg Oden, Kevin Durant, Thaddeus Young, Brandan Wright and Spencer Hawes had declared? What if ... the Florida kids -- Joakim Noah, Al Horford and Corey Brewer -- decided to leave the Gators for the NBA after taking the national championship? What if ... top college players such as Josh McRoberts and Tyler Hansbrough had decided to follow Tyrus Thomas' lead and be one and done? Here's a hypothetical look at what might have been:
Other potential first-rounders: Tyler Hansbrough, Rodney Carney, Chase Budinger, Gerald Henderson, Wayne Ellington, Javaris Crittenton, Thabo Sefolosha, Hilton Armstrong, Olexsiy Pecherov, Kyle Lowry, Jordan Farmar, Shannon Brown, Sergio Rodriguez, Alexander Johnson, Quincy Douby, Aaron Gray.
