Man...I have to think about this one. So many great posts here. And props to the Wiz rook for making a quick impact.

Btw, where's the poll?

05-12-2006, 08:18 PM
A big giant Red Flag just went up for me - Best post ever on any message board.

05-12-2006, 08:24 PM
It was a tough choice.

But since it started a phenomenom:

Plans change. That`s how I live my life now. Let`s please move on...

This is my champion.

This is a tough one. But I will say I'm not going to vote for a one line post. In order to get my vote in this category you have to put a little effort into it.

Thanks alot Shade. And thanks to whoever nominated me. Of course i voted for myself!

Full Disclosure: I voted for myself. What can I say? I'd love to win this one.

I had to vote for "A steak, a urinal & Scot Pollard....."

It's Peck's account of meeting Scott Pollard in a restaurant bathroom and it's hilarious.

05-12-2006, 10:57 PM
VT gave me the most pleasure.

I usually find myself agreeing with Bball, but his season ending wrapup report went above and beyond everything I've read on here. I just sat here nodding my head throughout the entire thing. He is extremely articualte (in everything he writes), and just has a knack for getting his points across which often spark new and sometimes contrasting opinions which I appreciate. This report, however, was just awesome. Better than the stuff that comes from the press, easily.

05-12-2006, 11:19 PM
I don't think "This Team Is Built for the Regular Season" should have been eligible - I wrote it with several weeks to go in last season's regular season. I think its stood the test of time pretty well but there are several more-recent posts that are more deserving.

I'm probably voting for Bball's random thoughts. Although VT's tribute to Earl still makes me laugh.

05-12-2006, 11:26 PM
VT's Earl rememberance makes me laugh uncontrollably every time I read it. Can't not vote for that one.

You have to be quick

I don't think I laughed any harder regarding a post than
the famous "How Uncle Buck Stole the Playoffs (A christmas fable) " Post.

Even as prophetic as the Giant Red Flag post was, the aforementioned has to get my vote.

05-13-2006, 12:46 AM
Thanks to whoever else voted for me!

"Awards a farce? ("Earl"'s famous line)", is still famous and still used pretty commonly in a lot topics, the sort of stuff of legend :).

"Awards a farce? (Vicious Tyrant's "Earl: A rememberance)" took it a little further and won it for me personally. I can still remember reading that post and actually that whole topic and it still cracks me up, truly briliant.

Other posts I seriously considered:

"video of my favorite Ron memory (positive) (MagicRat's video)" was very funny, because there are a lot of visualrequests from members on Ron towards MR build in on it and remembering ALL those topics again was quite funny.

"Bball's Season Ending Wrapup Report:", had good analysis and was really nice to read. Peck and Bball are in my opinion the best writers we have though Jay, UB and a lot of others also know how to keep you reading something interesting from their hands (or keyboards in this case ;)).

"Open letter to the Pacers, "Don't stop at Artest", wrtitten at a very painfull time by our most vocal and most well-known Artest supporter on here (I was in his camp almost to the end btw), a lot of truths in it in my opinion and still makes sense, just like Bballs post aswell as

"Jay's 15 new players thread (This Team is Built for the Regular Season)". The good thing about these three latest topics is that they were written sometime ago and are still very much actual. Time hasn't made them obsolete at all. Props to the writers.

Of course i voted for myself!

I'm glad you did; therefore, no one should make fun of me for voting for myself. It's pretty obvious no one else is going to. :kickcan:

05-13-2006, 10:59 AM
VT gave me the most pleasure.

I was going to give you a lollypop and a :cookie: if you would have at least given me the chance to bribe you.

05-13-2006, 11:53 AM
I meant to vote for VT. Change my vote if the tally is close.

05-13-2006, 12:03 PM
I'll have to read tham all again, but my vote will most likely go to one of the Pacer related posts. Like the thread vote, is it time for seperate catagories?

05-14-2006, 08:19 AM
That's a lot of reading. I WOULD have voted for Jay's trade the whole team post but IMO the Staute of Limitations has run out on it - no offense Jay. It was 14 months ago. So I went with one of Peck's - any post that can combine a steak and urinal has to be considered. I didn't get to know Earl at all - I'm sure it's something I'll regret to the end of my days.

I had to vote for the one I nominated.....you can figure it out.

Looking through the list though, I may have decided to vote for "How UB stole Xmas." That was a completely hilarious post.

05-15-2006, 06:53 AM
I voted for Uncle Buck's "Open Letter...".
I can't say I agree in the entirety with the names he has chosen to single out, but the premise of the letter is a good one.

...And that was one serious challenge and going against the grain of the Pacers for UB.

Peck's Nostradums post was a close second. I excluded voting for myself. The threads that were non-basketball/non-serious got less consideration from me. Jay disqualified himself or I would've had to give his some serious thought.

Pacer Gurl had nothing to vote for in this poll after being on a run. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Can someone explain the winning post to me. I don't get it did the guy die or something?

05-16-2006, 11:16 AM
No death or anything. For people who weren't around then and just don't get the "winning" post.

We've had a poster who was notorious for spamming threads and an overbearing posting style who has been repetitively banned. He had no tolerance for people who disagreed with him. But he had no ability to articulate or argue his point, so he'd just label people as "haters" and he called me and a few others "racists" and other immature crap like that.

He can't leave well enough alone, and he keeps making up fake names/ personalities in effort to come back (but, unfortunately, the same offensive "persona" keeps rearing its ugly head.) Anyway, Earl was one of his "funnier" (now) re-incarnations, as he was impersonating a disabled military vet in famously bad taste to try to get sympathy for himself for being excluded from PD's "Most Fanatical Poster" competition last summer. VT's rememberance, which is the winning post, was a barrell-of-laughs mockery of Earl's web of lies.

In one of "Earl's" other re-incarnations, the :haterade: icon was spawned.

For various reasons, his name is now "censored" around here. So I might type his name but then all you'd see is ******.

05-16-2006, 11:28 AM

Here's the thread that started it all. It's six pages long, with a lot of immature bantering going on, but I think well worth the read.

05-16-2006, 10:30 PM
At least i wasn't last!!!
