Doesn't make any sense to me. But a lot of things these multi-millionaire athletes do rarely make any sense to me.

Houston Rockets forward Juwan Howard was accused Wednesday of shoplifting a $2,000 pair of sunglasses from a Miami-area optical store.
Miami police are investigating the claim, but no charges have been filed and Howard has denied any wrongdoing.

"I'm aware of the situation and have spoken to my attorney," Howard said in a statement. "I will vigorously defend myself and (I) am confident I'll be cleared of these baseless charges."

The owner of Eye Q Optical in South Beach told Miami TV stations that he has a surveillance tape showing Howard take a pair of sunglasses, though he has not allowed media outlets see the tape.

"We are aware and will continue to monitor the situation," Rockets spokesman Nelson Luis said. "We understand Juwan is cooperating fully and is proclaiming his innocence."

Howard, 33, a 12-year NBA veteran, played the past two seasons with the Rockets and has three seasons (including one at his option) remaining on a six-year, $36.9 million contract he signed with the Orlando Magic.

Which of the Fab Five were involved in the famous beer-stealing incident?

Maybe he's a kleptomaniac.

Or just a small-time crook.

I work in Retail Loss Prevention during the summer and catch shoplifters. My old boss actually caught Ron Woodson stealing a cheap watch. For those who don't know, Ron Woodson played like 87 years in the NFL and was a premier safety for the Raiders. She said that he was scared as hell, but he called her and thanked her after he made it to college. Said that she changed his life because he never stole again, and got more involved w/ football instead.

Can't wait to see the video. Either Mr. Howard will pay for the glasses and nothing else will come of this, or the tape will be sold off to the highest bidder.

You're just trying to ruffle my feathers, aren't you? Next thing I know, you'll say something about Chuck Person, legendary member of the Charlotte Hornets.

Rod Woodson is also a Purdue Boilermaker. I had to say that.

I believe that was Jimmy King.

At least a 20-year old stealing beer I've heard of.

A 32-year old millionaire shoplifting sunglasses?

Come on, Juwan.

Heck, it wasn't the Rockets coming after him for cashing his paycheck?

Sorry, something's gotten into me today.

Um, small time crook?

Did you see his last contract?

Juwan's arguably the biggest thief in NBA history.

I'd say charging $2,000 for a pair of sunglasses is theft.

He may have played for the Steelers at one point, I'm not really sure. Could have been a stop in SF and Bal too. Okay so I hate the Steelers and didn't want to mention their name. Wait a sec...I just thought of the irony. STEELERS? He stole from my former boss...haha.
