View Full Version : Some people outside value Harrison really much...

I've just visited a Bulls board, and some guys there quite seriously discuss trading their Knicks' pick (probably a top 3) and another player (Sweetney or Duhon) for David Harrison...

Such a scenario seems quite crazy to me (as it would probably be possible to get someone like Channing Frye or even Bosh for that price), but it's interesting to see the attitudes elsewhere.

http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=491244

E.g.:

If the Bulls can't get Aldridge, I would like to see them make a major play for David Harrisson. I don't know if he is available, but if the Bulls could get him for their own pick and maybe Sweetney or even Duhon, I would do it.

The guy is a legit 7' footer and can finish. He's a bit soft on D, but he is the closest thing to Curry that there is out there, IMO, and he has no heart issue.

Add him and, assuming the Knicks (http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=491244#) pick isn't good enough, Shelden Williams, and I think you have a nice balanced big rotation.

Ok... maybe that's overpaying a bit, but I think the guy has legit potential to do what Curry does.

7' wide bodies do NOT grow on trees. Even in the NBA. Do not undervalue Mr.Hulka :)

I'm glad that there is some love out there for Harrison.

I just hope that he continues his current progress, works on his conditioning throught the offseason and lays off the Hamburgers. I don't want him coming into camp like Eddy Curry....overweight. I'm not saying that he will or has shown that....its just that when it comes to huge players like Harrison....its easy to lapse into the 300+ pound area when the conditioning staff isn't hounding you everyday.

Well, Harrison stuck here lifelong. Soup will not let him get away. At least alive ;)

They say you can't teach height, but let's look at the guys 7'0 and over as of last year's rosters. How many of these guys do you think take advantage of their height and are worth a meaningful roster spot on an NBA team.

Players taller than 6-11
Player Height
1. Shawn Bradley (Dal) ............. 7-6
2. Yao Ming (Hou) .................. 7-6
3. Pavel Podkolzin (Dal) ........... 7-5
4. Aleksandar Radojevic (Uta) ...... 7-3
5. Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Cle) ........ 7-3
6. Peter John Ramos (Was) .......... 7-3
7. Dikembe Mutombo (Hou) ........... 7-2
8. Bruno Sundov (NY) ............... 7-2
9. Jake Tsakalidis (Mem) ........... 7-2
10. Greg Ostertag (Sac) ............. 7-2
11. Vlade Divac (LAL) ............... 7-1
12. Joel Przybilla (Por) ............ 7-1
13. Loren Woods (Tor) ............... 7-1
14. Tyson Chandler (Chi) ............ 7-1
15. Vladimir Stepania (Por) ......... 7-1
16. Daniel Santiago (Mil) ........... 7-1
17. Wang Zhizhi (Mia) ............... 7-1
18. Shaquille O'Neal (Mia) .......... 7-1
19. Jerome James (Sea) .............. 7-1
20. Michael Olowokandi (Min) ........ 7-0
21. Pau Gasol (Mem) ................. 7-0
22. Sean Marks (SA) ................. 7-0
23. Rasho Nesterovic (SA) ........... 7-0
24. Robert Swift (Sea) .............. 7-0
25. Mikki Moore (LAC) ............... 7-0

29. Mamadou N'diaye (LAC) ........... 7-0
30. Chris Kaman (LAC) ............... 7-0
31. DJ Mbenga (Dal) ................. 7-0
32. Chris Mihm (LAL) ................ 7-0
33. DeSagana Diop (Cle) ............. 7-0
34. Darko Milicic (Det) ............. 7-0
35. Elden Campbell (Det) ............ 7-0
36. David Harrison (Ind) ............ 7-0
37. Jonathan Bender (Ind) ........... 7-0
38. John Edwards (Ind) .............. 7-0
39. Steven Hunter (Pho) ............. 7-0
40. Jason Collier (Atl) ............. 7-0
41. Kevin Willis (Atl) .............. 7-0
42. Dirk Nowitzki (Dal) ............. 7-0

I think there's a depressingly low amount of guys who have taken advantage of their size.</pre>

The difference between a 6'10" guy and a 7-footer isn't much. It's misleading in a lot of cases (Dwight Howard, for example).

Don't diss Bruno Sundov.

GO!!!!!

there are some dud names on that list but then add KG aka 7 foot KG or 6"11 KG, some say he's seven foot some say he an't, there are a few listed @ 6"10 or 6"11 that could easy be called seven foot

Amazing list, but it'd be nice for a dividing list of playing time verse efficiency

Wang ZiZi has properly played 600 Minutes in his career Vs Gasol who plays 3000 plus per season

Chicago misses Curry and AD. They never should have traded both of them without getting size in return. Sure, that pick is nice, but they're not getting a big man in this draft.

Well, they can trade the pick. Plus they've got beaucoup de capspace.

Kandiman's a free agent, right? :D

Maybe they'd be interested in an S&T'd Pollard for that pick.
