Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
They’re going to destroy
Our casual joys
We shall go on playing
Or find a new town

Yeah!

Strange eyes fill strange rooms
Voices will signal their tired end
The hostess is grinning
Her guests sleep from sinning
Hear me talk of sin
And you know this is it

Yeah!

Strange days have found us
And through their strange hours
We linger alone
Bodies confused
Memories misused
As we run from the day
To a strange night of stone

Who kicked a hole in the sky so the heavens would cry over me?
Who stole the soul from the sun in a world come undone at the seams?

Let there be love
Let there be love

I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream
Suspended clear in the sky are the words that we sing in our dreams

Let there be love
Let there be love
Let there be love
Let there be love

Come on Baby Blue
Shake up your tired eyes
The world is waiting for you
May all your dreaming fill the empty sky
But if it makes you happy
Keep on clapping
Just remember Ill be by your side
And if you dont let go its gonna pass you by

Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land

And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war

Look at the shoes your filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more

My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

"We practice selective annihilation of mayors
And government officials
For example to create a vacuum
Then we fill that vacuum
As popular war advances
Peace is closer" **

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
I don't need one more war

I don't need one more war
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway

Warren G
Regulators

(Warren G:)
Regulators
We regulate any stealing of his property
And we damn good too
But you can't beat any geek off the street,
Gotta be handy with the steel
If you know what I mean, earn your keep
Regulators! Mount up!
(Warren G:)
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon
Warren G was on the streets, trying to consume
Some skirts for the eve, so I can get some funk
Just rollin' in my ride, chillin' all alone

(Nate Dogg:)
Just hit the Eastside of the LBC
On a mission trying to find Mr. Warren G.
Seen a car full of girls ain't no need to tweak
All you skirts know what's up with 213

(Warren G:)
So I hooks a left on the 21 and Lewis
Some brothas shootin' dice so I said "Let's do this"
I jumped out the ride,
And said "What's up?"
Some brothas pulled some gats so I said "I'm stuck."

(Nate Dogg:)
Since these girls peepin' me I'ma glide and swerve
These hookers lookin' so hard they straight hit the curb
Won'tcha think of better things than some horny tricks
I see my homey and some suckers all in his mix

(Warren G:)
I'm gettin' jacked, I'm breakin' myself
I can't believe they taking Warren's wealth
They took my rings, they took my Rolex
I looked at the brotha said "Damn, what's next?"

(Nate Dogg:)
They got my homey hemmed up and they all around
Ain't none of them seeing if they going straight pound for pound
I gotta come up real quick before they start to clown
I best pull out my strap and lay them busters down

(Warren G:)
They got guns to my head
I think I'm going down
I can't believe this happenin' in my own town
If I had wings I could fly
Let me contemplate
I glanced in the cut and I see my homey Nate

(Nate Dogg:)
Sixteen in the clip and one in the hole
Nate Dogg is about to make some bodies turn cold
Now they droppin' and yellin'
It's a tad bit late
Nate Dogg and Warren G had to regulate

I laid all them busters down
I let my gat explode
Now I'm switching my mind back into freak mode
If you want skirts sit back and observe
I just left a gang of those over there on the curb

(Warren G:)
Now Nate got the freaks
And that's a known fact
Before I got jacked I was on the same track
Back up back up cause it's on
N A T E and me
The Warren to the G

(Nate Dogg:)
Just like I thought
They were in the same spot
In need of some desperate help
The Nate Dogg and the G-child
Were in need of something else
One of them dames was sexy as hell
I said "Oh I like your size."
She said "My car's broke down
And you seem real nice, would ya let me ride?"
I got a car full of girls and it's going real swell
The next stop is the Eastside Motel

(Warren G:)
I'm tweaking
Into a whole new era
G-Funk
Step to this
I dare ya
Funk
On a whole new level

(Nate Dogg:)
The rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble

(Warren G:)
Chords
Strings
We brings
Melody
G-Funk
Where rhythm is life
And life is rhythm

(Nate Dogg:)
If you know like I know
You don't wanna step to this
It's the G-Funk era
Funked out with a gangsta twist
If you smoke like I smoke
Then you high like everyday
And if your as* is a buster
213 will regulate

Song for the Dumped
by Ben Folds and Darren Jessee

So you wanted to take a break
Slow it down some and have some space
Well **** you too!

Give me my money back
Give me my money back, you *****
I want my money back

Wish I hadn't bought you dinner
Right before you dumped me on your front porch

Give me my money back
Give me my money back, you *****
I want my money back

The System - by South Park Mexican

[Verse 1]
This Ones for those on the dead end street
hustlin hard to make all they ends meet
I hope one day I see yo benz creep
watch for the jealousy that most friends keep
S-P got the Bentley
all I can do is thank god cause he blessed me
I used to be just like you
slangin crack rock on the avenue
Packin glocks and runnin from cops
most of my clients like they cane on the rocks
Gun shots like 2 blocks away
I wonda who the **** caught a hot one today
Neva mind cause I don't wanna know
I just lost two good friends in a row
One second, things is lookin beautiful
the next second, you can start off the funeral

[Chorus]
All my friends are in the dead end street
Some locked up and some are R-I-P
You cant win, there aint no way no how
Clock your change and get the **** on out

[Verse 2]
We was Pirex shakers
Sunny Side money makers
In Hillwood we had rocks big as now and laterz
Quick snappers the store where we slung at
Everybody knew me for my hundred packs
Across the street was law elementry
my car was so clean, kids was lookin up to me
They wanna be like me, a tru hustla
cause they daddy drives an old gas guzzla
The dope deala, I aint tryina brag but
**** watchin roaches tryina climb out my bath tub
I was a hard head, tryina be a drug lord
slow my roll nah homie what the **** for
im in the 2 bed trailor man im dirt poor
when hurricanes would come, id run next door
to my homies house, his name is huet hodges
we gonna make out this ghetto, man I promise

[Chorus]
All my friends are in the dead end street
Some locked up and some are R-I-P
You cant win, there aint no way no how
Clock your change and get the **** on out

[Verse 3]
99 percent of all criminals and dope dealers
get busted by bullets or ****** squeelers
And the One percent that made it was pure luck
but even he'll tell that his life aint worth a ****
cause in his mind, he was caught a thousand times
and in his mind, he was shot a thousand times
Without peace, there can be no happiness
I wear a cross around my neck like the catholics
Im not sure exaclty what my religion is
I just know I thank god for my little kids
the system got us sellin drugs like some guinnie pigs
then they arrest us after we done made it big
they take our money, our cars and our houses
now tell me whos really sellin the ounces?
and any cash that we might have hidden
goes to the system tryin to stay out of prison

[Chorus]
All my friends are in the dead end street
Some locked up and some are R-I-P
You cant win, there aint no way no how
Clock your change and get the **** on out

All my friends are in the dead end street
Some locked up and some are R-I-P
You cant win, there aint no way no how
Clock your change and get the **** on out

(Let's Get It) No nuts, no glory (no glory)
My biography, you damn right, the true story (Yeah)
Set the city on fire, and I didn't even try (try)
Run these streets all day, I can sleep when I die (Ayy)

[Bridge - Akon]
Cause if you lookin' for me you you can find me
On the block disobeyin' the law
Real G--thoroughbred from the streets
Pants saggin' with my gun in my draws
Just to keep on movin' now
Just to keep on movin' now
Just to keep on movin' now
Just to keep on movin' now

[Chorus x2]

VA, Guns n Roses, VA.
Fine choice (Civil War). From the same album: #11 Estranged. One of the best songs ever IMO.

Btw I've heard rumours that Guns n Roses is going on tour this year to present the new long awaited album 'Chinese Democracy'. Unfortunately it'll probably turn out to be nothing again. My guess is the genius that Axl Rose is will only bring the album out until there actually is a democracy in China, something we might not witness anymore I'm afraid.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm.
I've been kicked around since I was born.
And now it's all right, it's O.K.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.
Whether you're a brother
Or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin'
And ev'rybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.
Stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.
Well now, I get low and I get high
And if I can't get either I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right, it's O.K.
I'll live to see another day.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.
Whether you're a brother
Or whether you're a mother,

Somebody help me, yeah.

What is the obsession with people and cRap music? Does it make them feel tough talking about raping people, shooting people, and hoarding money illegally obtained through drug-dealing? I don't freaking get it.

I don't like most mainstream rap.

I listen to classic rock, rock, alternative and some rap.

Shade their is alot of crap out there, but not all of it is. Rappers Like Common and alot of Tupac's recordings are thoughtful and socially concious of where they come from and the honest truth about poor american life. Of course, for every Common, there's about ten people who write songs like 'Laffy Taffy'.

I really think you should download some Common, I'd suggest 'Retrospect for Life' with Lauryn Hill and 'The Light'.

It's the crap I'm particulary referring to, which is why I referred to it as cRap rather than rap.

What is the obsession of with people and rock and country music? Does it make them feel like rednecks talking about getting drunk, beating their wives, OD'in on cocaine, shooting people and driving their tractors on their farm? I don't freaking get it.

Walk through the hood and tell me what you see? Its their life and they rap about what they see.

You're right, because rap is all about going to school to get good grades, or helping their old neighbor across the street, or walking a little kid home when it's dark outside..........

You obviously haven't heard country music if you think it's about beating wives or even overdosing on cocaine.

But some rap like Laffy Taffy are decent(just not laffy taffy) like Ice Cream by Raekwon featuring a heck of alot of other people like Method Man.
