Israeli web sites are reporting that Miss world 1998, Linor Abargil, has said 'I do' to Runi's proposal. Linor is from Israel, and the two have met during Sarunas's time with Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
Or as monty python would put it - you lucky lucky *******.
Congratulations!!

I'd give up basketball for her if I had to make a choice .......... most women do not understand the power they have over us men.

We may not have a world championship yet, but we got the world miss hottie living in indy.

I bet she made him sign a pre-nup that he would give her his paychecks.

I'm overwhelmed.

Thats too much for me.

I'm happy as hell for them. I like them both. He is born in city and country I was born in and she was born and raised in city and country I grew up. I know both cultures, speak both languages, live in both countries and met both of them in person. I hope I'll be invited to the wedding (I don't know how yet). I feel like I'm getting married (which I hope won't happen at least for another 5 years...:D )

Sorry but I had to spill it on you guys...

Now my happy fruit dance

While in this one (staged, and we can't see their feet) she's quite a bit shorter.

Did they put Runi on top of some phone books or what?

Hey maniac, I am not talking about Jerm your man.

How are his female relations doing?

And I don't think he can raise his voice with her by more than -10 decibels if you know what i mean...

Why is it that every picture that I see Sarunas in.....his eyes are wide open...like someone just popped up from behind a bush and yelled "Boo!!!"?

His eyes are perpetually wide-opened.....

Power couples: Nick and Jessica? Nah, it's Roonie and Linor

Sarunas Jasikevicius isn't comfortable talking about it. But a lot of people in Israel are.

When the news broke the Indiana Pacers backup point guard and his girlfriend of 10 months, Linor Abergil (pictured), will marry, it rated a banner headline in Israeli newspapers. Not in the sports section, but on the back page where major news stories are played.

"I guess there's not too much going on there for that to be news," he said.

Actually, it's not surprising. Jasikevicius remains a national hero in Tel Aviv after leading Maccabi to the past two European titles. Abergil was Miss World nine years ago and is a top model.

The glamour couple has not set a date or decided where they'll live.

"I don't really want to talk about it," Jasikevicius said. "I don't like to get into my private life too much."

Plenty of people in Israel are willing to do that for him. The story on the engagement in the newspaper Ma' ariv received the most hits on the paper's Web site the day it ran, and generated 190 e-mails responding to the article.

I read that this morning and was confused until I read the actual article, I'm used to seeing his name spelled "Runi" not Roonie.

Country's gone totally crazy.....
And a few days ago some Idiot asked Linor not to marry Sarunas because he's not a Jew.

Think people need to find something more interesting.
It looks very rediculous

I'm reading in another forum that Maccabi coach Gershon came up with something even more ridiculous.. he's hoping that Linor will get Saras "closer and closer to the Jewish religion"..
