We had a great time at the game; once we GOT to the game....We got caught in a two or three mile traffic backup around the State Road 13 exit on I-69 because of a truck fire. They had it choked down to one lane, and then there was another accident a few miles south of the truck fire. That was another one lane bottleneck....We cut the median and went back to SR13 and came in on Pendleton Pike...That put us behind by about a half hour, so I didn't get to say hello to Mark Boyle...Oh well, there is always next game....

I thought the first half was sloppy but the second half was much better....I echo sentiments in other threads today that we are getting used to winning again. I'm anxious to see how we handle the vacuum that is the Palace tomorrow night....I feel like we will show up and make it a game. That is about all anyone can ask. The Pistons have shown recently that they are human after all, so it is definitely a winnable game...

On to the shots I took....

I love Peja's activity around the basket. Very confident with the ball, and a good finisher.

Did I mention his athleticism? Great poise and body control, great finisher and a great threat at the free throw line if he draws the foul. This guy is a great addition to our team!! Glad to have ya here, Peja!!

Little breakdown on defense early in the game....

Harrison has that "I got ANOTHER foul" look on his face while Peja is thinking, "If this kid gets another BS foul call, my head will explode."

Somehow this dunk came back out.....

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7724.jpg

Granger was outstanding last night! Great game for him...Keep it up Danger!!

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7739.jpg

Pollard with the outside touch...Well, he missed it, but at least it looked like good follow-through...

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7743.jpg

JO came straight to the game from his GQ photo shoot....

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7749.jpg

I got a great three frame sequence of this Granger dunk...I thought this one was the best...

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7897.jpg

Harrison again demonstrating how the immediately preceding call was BULL*****.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7900.jpg

THIS was very nice to witness on our bench. Granted it was during a pretty easy win, but in all fairness to the Tinsley brigade, I thought I should publish the good if I'm gonna publish the bad....Great activity from both JO and JT during the game tonight...LOVE to see it! That kinda stuff is what makes a team a TEAM instead of a group of millionaire basketball players who happen to be in the same laundry.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7941.jpg

Somehow, I get the feeling that Granger relishes these moments...

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d163/heywoode/022106%20Hornets/IMG_7958.jpg

I thought Pollard was gonna go Artesticle on him for a minute....I was jacking around and didn't really see what caused Scot to get all mad....The Hornets' player played apathetic, and Pollard was cool with a little pat to the butt right after this frame....

All in all, great game to go to. Wish I could've gotten there earlier, but it was darned good to have Row 1, midcourt tickets for $15 each. Well, they started out at $15 each...After Ticketmaster got through with me, they were $21.50 each, and that was for picking them up at Will Call to cut out the shipping expense! Gotta love the $11.50 service charge for buying $30 worth of tickets. I swear Ticketmaster is run by the mob...

Still very much worth it for roughly $20....

Great photos.

I think I remember that you use a canon digital rebel. Is that right? I'm also curious to know what lenses you use and what camera settings, if you have the time.

Thanks for posting these!

Yes, I use a Digital Rebel.

I use a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-6.5 lens exclusively because I don't want to carry other lenses with me! If I have club level seats, I've been known to take a Canon EF fixed 50mm f/1.8 lens with me because it is compact and easy to carry...Not worth messing with in the balcony though...

I usually shoot in aperture priority when I'm in the balcony because the aperture needs to change drastically depending on the zoon level. At 75mm, it will stay at the minimum f/4, but if I'm all the way out at 300mm, it hangs around f/5.6-6.0. I use ISO speed 800 all the time for sports; I change the white balance to incandescent; that seems to work better than fluorescent in Conseco for me....

I adjust my shutter speed on the fly given what aperture value is set depending on how much I zoom...Most of the shots shown in my threads are between 1/250 sec. and 1/400 sec.

Most of the time, I don't need to do anything with the frames in PhotoShop, but I do crop them strategically sometimes...Occasionally my timing will be exactly on with the strobes that are mounted on the catwalks by the professionals shooting and my shots will be washed out horribly...I feel good and bad about that...Good means I'm starting to develop my timing; bad, it messes up a good picture! I can usually salvage the shot in PS, but it gets old sometimes...

I can't think of anything else of value to add....Hope that helps!

Those are great and I like the Hulk "I got ANOTHER foul" with Peja's "..my head will explode.."

One of those pics actually show CP3 pulling on Dangers jersey.

 That'd be awesome!! I remember on Draft Night he specifically wanted number 3 so he was hoping there wasnt going to be a number 3 on the team.

I thought it was CP30.. then again, I'm not a HUGE Star Wars fan .

Great info. Thanks!

You know, I'm really surprised that they let you in with such a long lens.

Staples puts the limit at any camera with a lens shorter than three inches, so I've never dared to take my 18-200 for fear that they would confiscate it and "accidentally lose" it. Does security question you or are you allowed to walk straight in?

I've never been asked a single question upon entering...My 75-300 lens is about 5 inches long...It is a cylinder, not a cone shaped one...The glass isn't that big, hence the medium f-stop range. If I wanted the 300mm and wanted to be able to stop down to under 3, the glass would be much bigger...

Maybe that is why they don't say much...

I hope they never care, I don't do anything with the pics except post them here for Pacers fans enjoyment and keep them for my own personal enjoyment. I don't even worry about copyrighting my own work, or I wouldn't publish them here!

The only excuse worthy of consideration, in my opinion...:D

What suite were you in? I've stepped in one and met someone for about ten minutes, but it was at halftime and I was mainly making conversation so I didn't get to check it out too much....I've always been curious as to whether the suites are akin to first class plane tickets...you get whatever you want....Care to elaborate??!

The good old traditional medicine... There's still nothing more reliable.

Tickets seem to be much cheaper in Indiana than I thought them to be...
