The eastern conference starters dancing at once was hilarious.....

I love how they alll started out with their backs to the spotlight and jumped forward like a dance routine...

The sad thing is, this is one of their last performances together.

They were good, weren't they. And staring at Beyonce makes it all worth it.

They'll perform together again.

IT's all hype. The more they threaten not to sing together, the more $$$ earning potential.

Whos everyone rooting for?

I think Im actually gonna root for the West since there aren't any Pacers actually playing.

Oh and what is the deal with TMac? Sounds like he is crying for attention with his interviews lately: "I want to say I cant play well because of very serious personal issues, but I cant say what they are." Whatever buddy, if you dont want to talk about personal issues dont bring it up in the first place....

This is by far the coolest feeling I've ever had as a Pistons fan.

Not the best by far, but definately the coolest....

This is a lot more fun than I though.

Kstat
02-19-2006, 09:34 PM
JO wants to play the Pistons in the 1st rnd.

Yep, no room for interpetation here. He DEFINATELY is on record as saying that.

He wants us in the FIRST round, not just the playoffs.

FrenchConnection
02-19-2006, 09:35 PM
What is the over under on a thread being started about JO's comments?

He said that a while ago. I think that all he means is that it would be better to play them early than when they get momentum. In any case, what do you what him to say, "I'm scared of the Pistons and I hope we don't see them in the playoffs?"

BTW, I always root for the east in all star games except for this year when that would mean pulling for the Pistons. Can't do that!!

sweabs
02-19-2006, 09:35 PM
That's because JO loves to talk. And the Pistons love it when he does as well.

Thanks, JO!

I think when someone says, "I hope we get the 8th seed rather than a better seed, because I want to play Detroit," he's going out of his way to say he wants the Pistons in round 1.

In any case, I think it's a tad lame for someone who might not even PLAY until next season, to talk trash.... it's not as if he's going to be the one that has to back it up.

But either way, he's not my player, so he can talk all he wants as far as I'm concerned. I hope he guarentees that they'll sweep Detroit in 4. I'm not the one he's going to have to answer to if he comes up short on his talk....again.

Any chance TNT can have Sager interview little kids for the rest of his career, and have another reporter do the real "journalism"?

come on, east. Make a damn run.

Kstat
02-19-2006, 09:50 PM
The Pistons go out and the east falls apart...ugh.

Ugly end to an otherwise-good half. Hopefully the east comes out and makes a run in the 2nd half.

Yeah, it's great how they got possibly the most "folky", maritime-sounding, Canadian artist out there in Jann Arden to sing our anthem and then pull out some of the most talented voices in the world today in Destiny's Child to sing the American anthem.

That was truly a joy to listen to - they are very good. And no one likes Jann Arden!!!

Pistons have outscored the western conference 11-4 so far this quarter.

Rip's out now, though.

At this point, though, the East may win in a blowout.

Kstat
02-19-2006, 11:04 PM
east leading 113-107 right now, 6 minutes left.

SInce the east went to the full-court pressure, the west has been turning it over left and right.

Kstat

The MVP is up for grabs. LeBron and TMac are the front-runners.

Bron has 25, TMac has 30.

I dont really like the Pistons vs Western Conference setup, its too lopsided. I mean if there gonna do that they might as well send the best team from the WC to make it even, in which case they might as well just not have an All-Star game.

Well when a western conference team gets 4 players AND a coach into the all-star game, then we can have that.

In the meantime I'll just enjoy the fact you said the Pistons vs the western conference all-star team is a "lopsided matchup" in favor of the Pistons.... ;)

16.6 left, ball is in Kobe's court now.

Kstat
02-19-2006, 11:28 PM
YES Sheed! Nice steal!

Game over, East wins!

TMac probably walks away with the MVP, though.

Some cruel irony that he can't even win an all-star game, though.....

I believe TMac has lost 5 straight all-star game now. Since he got traded to Houston the west is now 0-2.

Jermaniac
02-19-2006, 11:30 PM

Nope, Lebron gets it.

Youngest MVP winner ever.

What an odd experience for me essentially rooting for the Pistons for a part of the game and enjoying it. Well I guess it was just a on night stand sort of thing. ;)
The East showed some serious guts and pride out there and played great ball in the second half. Its good to see that the East is back on level playing ground now officially and is keeping it there.

FreshPrince22
02-20-2006, 01:50 AM
Check the +/- for the East:

AI: -5
Wade: -8
Lebron: -10
Vince: -10
Shaq: -15
Billups: +15
Ben: +20
Rip: +8
Sheed: +10
Pierce: +7
Arenas: -6
Bosh: +4

Ben Wallace was robbed of MVP.

Without Big Ben and the Pistons this is a blowout. Gotta love Ben dominating the game without scoring a point. Ben is the only guy in the league that has that much impact on the game without putting up big points.

Kstat
02-20-2006, 01:57 AM
Come on, dude. LeBron as by far the best player on the floor for the East tonight. It's homerism to claim otherwise.

Now, the 4-man team of Billups, Ben, SHeed and Rip outscored the west 18-6 tonight, and they were the sparkplug behind the east's victory.

I could care less about the MVP, no award could have given me the satisfaction I took away tonight as a Pistons fan.

Well, I was joking about it anyways, but ok. No doubt Lebron was the best player on the floor, but without the Pistons this is a blowout loss for the East.

BTW, what the hell is up with Lebron and free throws?

Kestas
02-20-2006, 03:17 AM
East shot 6/21 and West - 4/26 threes.

pathetic. if I wouldn't know better, I'd say that this proves NBA has deffinitely lost its shoooting touch.
anyways, I'll use this line when next time somebody will come out telling how easily the new USA National Team will beat foreign teams (that shoot threes at above 50% with ease ;))

btw, what is US National Team? it had to be announced durin the All-Star Weekend.

btw2, the best part of the game was the anthem by Destiny's Child imho. I wouldn't mind seing Beyoncey instead of Flip Saunders all the time. I went to sleep after two quarters (simply could not watch, it was almost morning and no sleep), but those two quarters really had too many wasted opportunities.. majority of attemts at alley-ups were bad. I was kinda surprised, coz some passes (for dunks) were extremely off-target..

anyways, the nice flowing stile I liked! also a pitty that the begining of the game was so silent.. as if it was some practice or something. I assume the viewers in the arena were partaking their usual meal then.. and some people say NBA is exciting from the begining. that's so not true. it's obvious I'd better sleep during the first half and wake up for the second. you live and you learn.
