Should be fun.

Nique, Duncan and Kobe are shoe-ins. The next 7, who knows?

Wow. Pretty much the whole TNT crew left KG off their ballots.

Also interesting to see that Reggie got to vote.

And he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would vote for himself...

Wuh-woh. Now I really don't think he'll make it.

Capable of incredible transformation

Wonder who Reggie voted for?

Hah!

Thank you TNT for not putting LeBron on the list after only 2 1/2 years.

The Bernard King/Adrian Dantley debate is VERY interesting, maybe the closest debate on the list. Wonder if both of them made it in.

How exactly are they going to spend an hour on the "Greatest Dunk Ever"?

IndyToad
Not on TNT

It'll probably be a selection show like this....

...if Mcadoo makes the list and Lanier doesn't, I'm going to be really pissed....

Anyone know why George Mikan only played 7 years? I've wondered, but this is the first chance I've had to ask where it made sense.

:)

He retired at 32. Back then that was a pretty common retirement age.

Besides, the championship rings were beginning to weigh down his hands...

If lebron gets a vote i'll go crazy

:lmao: @ Barkley not voting for Kobe

He voted for Dennis Johnson, Dumars and Reggie Miller over Kobe. Seriously.

Looks like most of the TNT crew voted for Reggie.

Holy **** Barkley took Reggie, johnson , and Dumars over Kobe

Magic took Reg too. His chances look decent right now. I'm surprised actually.

Looks like Reggie's getting in over Dumars. Sounds like he didnt get many votes.

Kenny Smith took Reg too. 3 for 3 so far. I'm shocked.

Didn't they all say they had Reggie at one point, or another?

Is this "next 10" thing an official addition, or is it just something TNT is doing just for fun? Is this going to be an "official" addition to the top 50?

Wow the whole panel basically said Reggie is a no brainer. I'm really happy for him. Surprised, but happy. Congrats Reggie!

Strictly TNT's list.

Realize the 5 guys on the show right now are only %30 of the entire panel. I think 15-20 different people voted on this.

I can't believe Kobe is over Reggie for anyone, really. I love Reggie, but I think Kobe is far enough into his career where you can pretty much chart where it goes from here. It's not like he's going to magically fall off. The 3 rings help too.

However, guys like Lebron, just haven't played long enough. Crazy things can happen where you can't predict his future. He could become injury prone. I don't think it will happen, but you never know.

Realized and duelly noted, but I'd bet any amount of money that his sister voted him in. Even if he got votes from 7 out of 14 people I'd say he had a very good shot.

Kidd better get in IMO.

Kstat
02-18-2006, 06:44 PM
THe TNT crew took Payton over Kidd, but the unseen voters voted Kidd supposedly.

Should be close, which I didn't think it would be. Kidd should be in there over GP.

You can bring up GP's all-time stats all you want, but Kidd's triple-doubles are more impressive than anything GP has ever done.

Odd that Mo Cheeks is #9 in assists overall right now.

When I was a kid, Mo was in the top THREE....

If you ask me there is no official list, it's all subjective and a matter of choice. We could make up an official list right here on PD that would be just as official.

Anytime someone has a list of best, it's only the pickers list, it really doesn't mean much unless you want to give the list credibility. Then it only means YOU are giving the list credibility, it doesn't mean me or my neighbor agree with the list.

The only think best ever lists are good for are discussion.

That's my official opinion. (grin)

BS if Paton in is over Kidd that is travesty.

Hu huh, Grant Hill.

These guys are hypocrites, how can you argue that Nash doesn't have the longevity to make it, but at the same time say that Kobe has had ample time to prove he's earned it. They came into the league the same year!!! Also good to see it looks like Reggie will get in.

If Kobe retires tomorrow, he's still on the list.

That has nothing to do with it.

Nash has only been a truly elite player for less than 2 years.

Kobe's been elite for almsot his entire career.

Kobe;'s had MORE great years than Nash, by a wide margin.

....and here is TNT's list:

1. Duncan
2. Kobe
3. Dominique Wilkins
4. Allen Iverson
5. Bob McaDoo (I still hate you Bob)
6. Garnett (despite nobody on the TNT TV crew voting for him)
7. Reggie Miller
8. Connie Hawkins (doesnt belong here if this is an NBA list)
9. Jason Kidd
10. Gary Payton

1. Duncan
2. Kobe
3. Nique
4. Iverson
5. McAdoo
6. Garnett
7. Reggie (WOOHOOOOOO!!!)
8. Connie Hawkins
9. JKidd
10. G. Payton

Good list. Can't complain about a whole lot. I'm sure it will spark some debate.

Trader Joe
02-18-2006, 06:56 PM
Except I don't think Payton should be in. Dantley or King would be in for me.

Kstat
02-18-2006, 06:56 PM
The next 6 in the voting...

11. Dantley
12. english
13. rodman
14. bellamy
15. dumars
16. king

Kstat
02-18-2006, 06:57 PM
Bernard King should be on that list over Hawkins.

I'd also put Dumars on over Payton. I'm insulted he didn't even come close.

Trader Joe
02-18-2006, 06:59 PM
IDK, Dumars finished top 50% I guess. Hawkins probably should have been removed too.

Gary Payton deserves it.If this were 10 years from now, then people would say that he does, but i think there's an issue of time here.
