MVP: Kobe or Lebron (it's a toss-up right now).
MIP: David West
DPOY: Marcus Camby
ROY: Chris Paul (it's not even close)

6th Man: Fred Jones or Jerry Stackhouse (If the Pacers finish strong I can see Fred getting the nod but if not, Stackhouse will probably get it because of Dallas' great season).

COY: Avery Johnson (Flip could get it but they like giving it to the new guy).

MVP: Dirk. The best man on possibly the best team. Has no 2nd All-Star level player to support him. Seriously, would you be surprised if Mavs with the current rooster were in Minnesota's place at this point?
MIP: Chris Kaman - his improvement is one of the reason Clippers are turning into a contender. Is there a better indicator? Runner up: Boris Diaw.
DPOY: Abdur-Rahim. Artest is already redeeming himself with his current performance in Sacramento. If they come even close to a play-off spot, I can't imagine anyone but Pacers' fans calling him a dissapointment. For some time, that is. And Abdur-Rahim was expected to be the new star of the Kings before the season; a player who would help the team to be in the elite again. He's playing way below expectations though has decent numbers.
6th man: I don't know. I would love to see Sarunas here, but unless he starts doing Ben Gordon-like 4th qtrs in the end of this season, he has no chance to get it. Freddy's chances are getting lower too, because this team is just too deep:)
Rookie: Paul. Bogut as runner-up.
Coach: Remind me, who coaches Maverics? He did incredible job after taking over from Nelson, even though Nash and Finley were lost. Runner-up: Flip Saunders. In case Maverics start losing - Flip should get the award.
Best record: I would guess Detroit.

EDIT: I wrongly interpreted "DPOY" as "Dissapointment of the year" above. For the defensive player of the year I would probably choose Artest. I'm rather sure he won't get it, though.

MVP: Dirk Nowitzki. The best player on one of the very best teams. Kobe can't be MVP, 50 percent is way too bad. I'd agree with Billups as MVP, but they have 4 (!) allstars, so there is not one MVP on that team. Steve Nash - he is good, but he is not good enough to get MVP 2 years in a row. Lebron James, i don't think Cleveland's record is good enough for MVP. Duncan is of course an ok candidate for MVP, but he has gotten it several times and is assisted by 2 other allstars.
So Dirk Nowitzki is MVP for me, he deserved it last year already.

MIP: Boris Diaw

Coach: I guess Avery Johnson. I honestly don't like the way he uses Nowitzki; he makes him play almost too unselfish and team-oriented, he is just setting screens and drawing attention all the time. This creates space for the players around him, who get open looks all the time. What other superstar in this league only throws the ball 15 times when he is hitting them all.
Another pick would be Hornet's Byron Scott.

Rookie: Chris Paul.

Just you wait, it's only a matter of time before Ron is front-runner for the AMA's, The Nobel Peace Prize, and the Coretta Scott King Award for outstanding children's literature.

By the way, Ron made the top 10 movers/gainers list in the Beckett this month. Seems his autographed rookie cards have made a huge jump since he's actually playing. Get them while they're cheap!
