We already had a topic about it we've been discussing things about it for a while. It's not extremely obvious though, so I see how you could have missed it.

The Detroit Pistons traded forward-center Darko Milicic and point guard Carlos Arroyo to the Orlando Magic for Kelvin Cato and a first-round draft pick, ESPN.com learned Wednesday.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported the first-round pick in the deal won't belong to Detroit until the 2007 draft at the earliest. Orlando keeps the pick for this June's draft and the pick is top-five protected in 2007, meaning that it would only go to the Pistons if it's No. 6 or lower. The pick is totally unprotected in 2008.

Bad trade for Detroit, IMO. I think Darko is going to be a stud.

Then again they have more cushion to keep Ben Wallace and Taysan Prince in the future and get a first round draft choice. I still think they gave up on Darko WAY to early though.

They also have about ten million centers now. Can never have too many of those.

I can hear them

All depends on where that draft pick ends up.

They also needed to save money. That starting lineup is going to be pricey.

Drafting Darko is looking pretty stupid now. If you are going to draft that guy ahead of Carmelo, Wade, Bosh, and company then you at least wait for him to develop.

So you hold on to him, and keep him on the bench until his percieved "potential" is gone?

I don't get the logic, really. It's hard to develop sitting on your ***.
