last year's Seattle team. You've got the two bash brothers down low who take care of the dirty work, and the two gunners at SG and SF who carry the load offensively. Now, our starting guards aren't as good as they had, but I think our bench is better, and we defintely play better defense.

I think this is the sort of style of team Rick is looking for, until JO comes back anyway....

I agree.

Pollard has been a beast and I am glad that he is healthy, atleast for the time being. I forgot how good he was when healthy.

I think that this Pacers team right now even without JO would beat last years Seattle Sonics team. Like you said, we have a better bench and plus we have a guy who is capable of scoring in the post, David Harrison, unlike the Sonics.

Really? I didn't see the last few games but I find it hard to believe Harrison has progressed that much. I hope I'm wrong, but I think if David comes through every other game, or maybe two of every three games, that's as much as we can ask for right now. He's still learning his way right?

Yes really. David is CAPABLE of scoring in the paint unlike Reggie Evans, Johan Petro, Danny Fortson, Robert Swift, or whoever the hell is playing the 4/5 for the Sonics.

Sorry, didn't really see the CAPABLE part. I see what you're saying.

The team right now is exactly like the Pacers team last March and April

Which Pacer from March-April 2005 reminds you of Peja?

This team, right now, reminds me of... the 72-win Bulls.

Yes, that too. I mentioned that to our good buddy Taz the other day. I really like both compairsons. I hope it sticks, and we continue to play well...

I'm not sure what it reminds me of. A Pacers' team with a three-game winning streak is something I haven't seen in so long, I don't remember what its like.

What it really does make me think of though is the Milan High School team from the movie "Hoosiers." A bunch of basketball players, maybe not the best, but they put forth the effort it takes to win. If they play hard every night, I will be happy with this team.

All good points to great comparisons.

IOW... you think they don't have another gear to go to?

I think that they do, in fact. The shooting percentage will get better as guys get more comfortable in the offense. That will be an additional improvement in the Pacers' play and will equal more wins down the road. We probably cannot continue to win shooting 40%.

We can if we get rebounds...especially offensive rebounds.
