I pretty much run at 1280x1024 at home and work. Too many work machines to say what they are really and sometimes I go up or down depending on what I'm doing.

17" Samsung dinosaur...would love a flat panel but $$$$$$$$

Question: I've heard the 15" flat panel has same viewing area as a 17" standard monitor...True or False? Big dif in $$$$ between the 15" and the 17" flat panels.

False. They measure the viewing screen diagonally. Seventeen inches is longer than 15 inches.

I have a 17"inch Samsung LCD. My next Television is going to be LCD also. Nuf said.

Actually, some 15" flat panels do have the same "viewable" screen as some 17" monitors. Typically, the 17" monitor will be a 15.9, or a 16 viewable.
