Aaron Williams is worse then nothing.

Who is the last 2nd rounder we kept more than a year? Not disagreeing, but we could use him actually. Then again we could use anyone.

Keep in mind, we get the Suns' 2nd rounder, which will be near the bottom. Toronto got New Orleans' 2nd rounders, which is essentially a 1st round pick with no contractual obligation :(

With the Nets,

00-01 10 pts 7 board
01-02 7 pts 4 boards
02-03 6 pts 4 boards
03-04 6 pts 4 boards

Aaron Williams came in the year Byron started coaching. And with Aaron playing only about 20 minutes a night, Byron was able to utilize him, if only minimally, in aid to two Finals appearances.

I think this happened as a request from Byron for a veteran leader, maybe a good practice guy and experienced player to aid his youth, and as a guy to give you 10 hard minutes of defense and maybe even a couple of put back points.

2 second rounders is too much, I agree, but I think Byron's motivation has been sorely overlooked, and his production with the Nets, and with the crappy team the Hornets have now (which astonishes me daily).

Aaron Williams is worse then nothing.

But he is worth more than Maciej Lampe and Jackson Vroman, NO/OK's backups to PJ Brown.

Not this year. Anything out of the Lottery in this draft is going to be a bench player at best. Trading your second rounder in this draft is a good move.
