WASHINGTON Hawks forward Al Harrington was the owner of the league's best rumor prior to Wednesday night's game against Washington at the MCI Center. Harrington said he heard from people in Indiana that the Pacers and Clippers were close to finalizing a deal swapping Ron Artest for Corey Maggette. That deal, were it to happen, would finally put to rest the rumors that Harrington will be a part of a trade that frees Artest from the Pacers and the Pacers from their volatile and restless star. "Yeah, that would get it out of the water and off the Internet and all that nonsense," Harrington said. "But I've known for a couple of weeks now that nothing was going to happen with me. [Hawks general manager Billy Knight] told me that if there was going to be anything done he'd let me know. So it's been off of my mind for a while now." Harrington said he'll be happy for Artest, whenever he finally returns to the floor. And he's convinced that whatever team Artest suits up for will be dangerous. "Any team with a sane Ron Artest is going to be tough to deal with," Harrington said. "Any team with he's on with his mind right, is going to the playoffs and is going to make some noise. So it'll be good for Ron and for the Clippers."

Why are people so high on someone who is so injury prone?

Desprate. non-patience of likely hood for Pacer fans, hoping Walsh does anything even if he's a Injury prone.

Thats how every Pacer fan is look people I'm hoping for something right now but I'm also realizeing how much patience we need right now... and I hate patience but we need it.

Blah. If magette can stay injury FREE, it may be something to be excited for. Maggette averages slightly better numbers than Artest.

I wonder why no one is talking about this? Must be too early.

Well, thankfully, I doubt we ever have to worry about that.

Look in the trade rumor thread.

I doubt Al and J.O are cooking this up, plus Vescey is reporting that the pacers have asked to review the X-rays so that means things are to the point where if the Pacers are satisfied about the medical side of things, the deal is done.

keep in mind Maggette has to agree to let the pacers see his x-rays

I like Al better too, BUT Danny has already made it pretty clear he's got a future at the 3 spot. I think he's made AL a 2nd priority at this point. Especially given that he'll be a free agent and require major $$$$. A 2 guard is now way more important.
Get maggette and trade Jackson and fill for another big or too move up in the draft and get a young PG. :)

Why are people so high on someone who is so injury prone?

Because we all care about Jamaal so much that we want him to have company on the bench

OR because the kid is quite talented
