Somehow I'm not wondering it ;)

I keep wondering the same thing. We've established that AJ actually makes a decent SG. Why not play him there?

I keep wondering the same thing. We've established that AJ actually makes a decent SG. Why not play him there?Rick Carlisle isnt smart enough to see that. If JO is out tonight dont be suprised if Samaki is starting at the 4.

F***n A !???

Saras at SG, and AJ at PG???.....
Why doesn't Carlise try Jasikevicius in Center position if he so smartass???

Saras IS A PG!!! Saras is a natural born PG, and that's what he is known and best for. However, it seems Carlise doesnt mind to see Saras in SG averaging <3 pts at SG possition, instead of averaging 9.8 in PG position... Carlise - put Saras to backup PG at least, if you hate him so much, or trade him to Cleveland for god's sake!

My dreams and hopes for Pacers has been burried by this...

Do we really play with an Old Skool Stockton PG are we using the Grd's as just overall Swingman.... Personally maybe Coach C is smarter then the rest of us and is using the Grds as they feel comfortable and labelling AJ as a starting PG, is just for the stat keepers.....

We Both know there Point Grd's so does technically is it relevant, will AJ bring the Ball 99 times to SJ's 1 ???

Saras has been complaining about playing shooting guard ever since carlisle moved him there.

For the sake of Rumor Control, he didn't say "I hate that I have to play SG" he said he hated playing it in college and that he likes to play with the ball in his hands. So if you want to say he indirectly has, I don't want it mistaken that he's openly *****ing at or about Carlisle.

point is he wouldnt have commented on it if he believed he was running the offense in Indiana.

Sarunas, Jones and Austin are going to have too... and hopefully we see something special out of Granger tonight...The way Sarunas is shooting I dont even expect no points out of him anymore. But he should still start at the 1 cause he is such a good passer.

Just b/c he's in a slump doesn't mean you should write off his shooting forever... he has been a great shooter over his whole career, eventually we'll see that Sarunas back...

Hicks
01-02-2006, 06:49 PM
Tonight would be an awfully good night for Sarunas to start a new hot shooting streak. For a while he was shooting 60% ( :-o ) from downtown. This horrible slump has bumped him DOWN to about 40%.

Jermaniac
01-02-2006, 06:50 PM
I just hope he can hit 2 long ones, its annyoing how he keeps missing wide open looks cause I know its not like him to do that. He was automatic at the start of the season

01-02-2006, 06:56 PM
i think we should start eddie and samaki off the bench, that should give us a real spark to start the game, when samaki goes out at the 6 min. TO then we should bring in Danny at center and move pollard to the PG..........anyway, i'm tired of useless lineup speculationa nd should and should nots...it makes me as mad as the rest of you but Rick is simply going to be Rick and we just gotta put up with his shinnanigans as long as he is coach....personally i wouldn't mind doing some sniping from the nosebleed seats at a few select coaches/players, but it still wouldn't work. Rick would play AJ's rotting corpse at PG over Sarunas any day of the week and twice on the sunday doubleheader

Hmm, this kinda shows we need JO's shot blocking and his rebounds more than his points. I'm not even watching the game and I can tell the ball is moving just by looking at the stats and the score. We need to force some turnovers, and Granger needs to step it up in the 2nd half if we wanna finish this thing off on a high note.

David's numbers extrapolated to 48 min.

28 points
60% shooting
8 rebounds
4 assists
6 fouls ...oops, still not bad!

Edit: 4 blocks and probably 10 missed shots due to his presence in the lane.

But if you notice every time Hulk is on the bench tonight he complains and wonders why he isn't out there (seems like he doesn't understand the concept of players have to rest...)... and thus thinks he should play all 48 min...

I'd forgotten how much space David takes up out there. He doesn't grab boards, he creates the opportunity for others. Just a few minutes ago was a prime example. He had his man completely pinned down, allowing Croshere to swoop in and grab the miss uncontested.

I think Jermaniac posted my favorite Pacer line-up:

PG - Tinsley
SG - Jax
SF - Granger
PF - JO
C - Hulk

No one gets to the rack with that lineup

Im very happy to see Harrison playing like this because if he can do this each game then that line up is my perfect starting 5 aswell.

Moving JO back to PF gives us the advantage against most teams in that position and there isnt many other centres that can match up strength wise against Harrison so we have 2 advantages there. Along with Granger giving us decent plays both ends of the court and tinsley running plays with the occasional flurry from jackson that team would be unstoppable.

Another upside is Saranus seems to play better coming off the bench and Fred Jones can make a fight for the SG spot with Jackson. Foster coming on for rebounds and hustle plays would be great and give AJ maybe 8 mins a game. Croshere doesnt usually come off the bench well but thats the only bad thing really.

The downside is Rick wont go with that line up ever this season.

Indiana 115, Seattle 96

January 2, 2006

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Fred Jones scored 26 points and Stephen Jackson added 22 to help the Indiana Pacers snap a four-game losing streak with a 115-96 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics on Monday night. Jones hit 10-of-16 field goals to lead the Pacers (16-12) to their highest scoring output of the season. Jackson scored 13 points in the first quarter and the Pacers scored 11 of the game's first 13 points.

The Pacers began by hitting seven 3-pointers in the first quarter as they shot 14-of-21 (66.7 percent) from the field and raced out to a 38-23 lead. Jackson made three 3-pointers, Anthony Johnson hit both of his, and Jones and Sarunas Jasikevicius each converted a single attempt.

Seattle was able to close to 54-45 late in the second quarter, but the Pacers responded with a 9-2 run to end the period and push the lead to 63-47.

The Pacers played without all-star forward and leading scorer Jermaine O'Neal, who was sidelined by the flu.

Ray Allen had 24 points to lead five Sonics in double digits. Jasikevicius came off the bench to score 20 points. Ronald Murray had 18 points off the bench for Seattle (13-17).

Notes

The Pacers set season highs by scoring 38 points in the first quarter and 63 in the first half as they shot 62 percent (22-for-35) from the field. ... Allen remains the only Sonic to score in double figures in every game this season. ... Pacers guard Jamaal Tinsley missed his second straight game with a torn right bicep.

Very nice to get a win, especially with JO on the sidelines. :)

I just relived the entire game this morning by reading this thread. Thanks everyone for your enthousiastic reports. Especially PacersGurl, she does great : I think we should make her the official PacersDigest reporter.
