Some Warriors fans have suggested that the GS might be willing to trade Troy Murphy but not Ike Diogu or Andris Biedrins to the Pacers for Ron Artest.

The theory is that if the Warriors take on Artest's salary, they need to also trim a larger salary. Plus with Artest, Ike Diego and Biedrins are eventually going to take over at power forward anyway.

If Murphy were available in a package with Pietrus for Artest and David Harrison, would you do it? Troy makes about 7.3 million now and gets annual raises over $900,000, so his salary is not too much out of line, at least now.

Could Murphy's offensive skills and rebounding on the defensive boards be what the doctor ordered? Or is he a bad fit?

I already know most feel about Mike Pietrus, so not much to be said there. Pietrus and Granger sounds good long term to me and, along with Murphy and JO, might be popular with the fans. It's not necessary but to balance the deal I also sent Freddie Jones to GS and Cabarkaba to Indiana. Originally I had AJ in, but felt GS needed Freddie more and that we might not re-sign Freddie, especially with Pietrus and Steve Jackson both on the roster.

We try to put the players in positions in where they can play their best.

Sarunas gets his time at point

Point Guard: Tinsley/Sarunas/AJ/Gill

Steve Jackson is the starting shooting guard for the time being . Pietrus is the sixth man.

Shooting Guard: Jackson/Pietrus/Sarunas

Small forward is Danny's for 25-30 minutes a game, come hell or high water. Jackson, Pietrus, etc get some minutes.

Small Forward: Granger/Pietrus or Jackson/Cabarkaba/

Bigs: JO and Troy Murphy are our ace bigs, starters and first options. Cro and Foster are in the rotation with Cabarkaba and Pollard trying to win some PT.

Bigs: JO/Troy/Cro/Foster/Pollard/Cabarkaba

I reall doubt Troy Murphy is going anywhere .. but for the case of discussion if we were able to get him for just that sure.. No brainer..

If a trade like that is on the table we had better take it. Murphy is a very good player and Pietrus has a chance to be a star.

Definantly. Troy Murphy is Brad Miller minus the passing, and actually a slightly better rebounder. He'd make a nice compliment to JO the same way Brad did.

That's a great trade for us!

Troy Murphy is exactly the kind of hustle player Jeff Foster is supposed to be, with better offense.

I seriously doubt the Warriors are offering him, let alone along with Pietrus. They're probably dangling Adonal Foyle who got his contract and (as suspected) turned out to be a waste. Whatever you do DO NOT get Foyle, unless it comes with JRich/Baron/Diogu.

That is a horrible trade for the Pacers. Murphy is a slightly improved
version of Croshere. They rebound the same on a per minute basis.
Murphy scores a little better. Poor defender.

Throw this trade back in the dumpster.

Diogu maybe from GS. That is about it for me.
