Just a suggestion:
Artest
Fred Jones (even though I personally like him)
Bender (and his expiring contract)

for

Martell Webster (who can't seem to get much PT)
Joel Pryzbilla
Theo Ratliff

or

Artest
Bender
Pollard

for

Pryzbilla
Webster
Travis Outlaw
Theo Ratliff

Gives us a young, promising 2-guard off the bench and helps out at the backup 4 spot as well. I assume Ratliff could start, so J.O. could move back to the 4.

Depending on what trade you look at, our roster would look like this:
Trade 1
Ratliff/Foster/Harrison/Pollard
JO/Croshere/Pryzbilla
Jax/DG
Runi/Martell
Tins/AJ/Gill

Trade 2
Ratliff/Foster/Harrison
JO/Croshere/Pryzbilla
Jax/DG/Outlaw
Runi/Freddie/Webster
Tins/AJ/Gill

Both are CBA-friendly.

No.

1. Portland probably doesn't want Artest.
2. They are not going to trade Webster yet. He isn't getting much PT because he isn't ready yet, he is only 18-19 years old. I think I remember reading they like Joel P. alot too.
3. We have no reason to take Theo off their hands who has a big contract.
4. In general what interest would Portland have in Artest? I thought they were really trying to clean up their act which is why they signed Juan Dixon and Steve Blake.

I'll believe they are trying to clean up their act when they ship Patterson.
Again, it was just a suggestion.

Actually....I think that we do....all Ratliff does is rebound and block shots....despite being a bit slower due to age....but he is injury prone and has a huge contract.

On top of that....the Trailblazers are trying to stay away from troubled players.

No way Portland does these trades. They would leave the Blazers with a center rotation of Pollard/Ha and 6 SF's on the roster. Not to mention the Blazers are trying to shed their "Jailblazers" image.

They are trying to trade him but Patterson isnt nearly as much of a public relations problem as Artest.
