We have a date & time set.

Saturday January 7th, 5:00

Biggby's Pizza King - Castleton

For those new to our little gatherings...............

Some of the locals get together a couple times a year to share pizza & Pacer talk. There are just a couple things you'll need to keep in mind.

1.Everyone is welcome. These parties couldn't be more casual. If you visit the forum you're welcome to attend. You don't even need to be a regular poster, as long as you visit the Pacers Digest we'll find a spot for you.

2. $10 will cover it. We get 4 or 5 pizza's & as much soda as you can drink. Add on a little for our fine waitresses & it comes out to about 10 bucks.

There are adult beverages available but I'll leave that bill upto you.

3. Last minute quest are great. The list I have posted below is the group that has said they plan on being there. Its only purpose is to let the Pizza King staff know about how many people we'll have in our group.

Some people on the list might not show..... no problem

Some people might show that are not listed...... again, no problem sorry Scott

All you need to know is that we start around 5 & that we could be there til 10. You could stop by at anytime & stay as long as you like.

Some of us even head to Perkins after the King closes. It's not uncommon for us to be out til after 1 AM.

The Pizza King is located in the middle of a parking lot, east of the main Mall.

They share a building with a liqour store.

To the north is the now forum famous Burlington Coat Factory

To the south is Red Lobster

To the east Hooter

That's pretty much it, if you think you might like to join us, let me know.

Thanks to everyone for making these so successful

For me, it depends on the time and place of the gathering.

I'm definitely interested, but I'll have to get my work schedule to LYK when I'd be able to make it. I know Thursday night is out, as I have bball practice from 7:30 - 10:00.

Don't invite Jack though. UB might get excited that Ron would ride together with him.

I should be available whenever. I think it'd be better if we had it after the trade. Somebody call Donnie and ask him when the hell he's gonna pull the trigger!

Kegboy
12-19-2005, 09:20 PM
Actually, I just realized, we need to have the party ASAP, because then the trade will be announced. We'll just have to make sure UB is there, and that he doesn't drive into Burlington.

I think I'm only going to be in Indy for the night of the 21st. So come by "204" if you want during the Clippers game (I expect UB to greet me by throwing rotten eggs at me while cursing uncontrollably).

One of these days I'll make it to one of these things.

Hicks
12-19-2005, 09:55 PM
I'll be at the game Wednesday as well. Maybe we should try to meet to say hey for a sec?

ChicagoJ

We can either pick a location to meet or I can PM you my seat location and you can swing by whenever you want.

So, are we doing it this week, next week or after the first of the year?

If its after Christmas I suggest going back to Pizza King.

I'll start another thread with a poll.

FWIW, I can probably do a January 7 party. No guarantees yet.

Jose Slaughter
12-22-2005, 11:32 AM
I think we're gonna pass on this weekend, too much going on & too many people have plans up in the air. There is a game on the next two Fridays anyway, as well as whats going on on consecutive Saturdays.

If there is still an interest maybe we could put something together for January 7th. There is no game that night & the hussle & bussle of the holidays will be behind us.

Thoughts?

Hicks
12-22-2005, 12:08 PM
Jay can probably make the 7th, and didn't Peck say he could maybe make something in January, too? Sounds like that might be the date to do this.

Peck

Yes, barring some major calamity I could do the 7th.

We are offically on for the 7th.

The next thing we need to settle is the great pizza debate

We need to start out with a veggie or cheese. We can add to that a meat lovers & one with the works

For our 2nd round I think we need to go with the pineapple-pepperoni & another meat lovers

Does that work for you guys?

I'm going to try and make it. About 50/50 chance right now. I have no idea when or for how long. Refresh my memory, Pizza King closes at 9:00 or 10:00, and then you'll be going to Perkins. Just so I know where to go.

If the trade goes down in the next 24 hours, I might be too depressed to drive though.

Ya know he is no longer a Pacer. You also know he will be traded. I think the hardest part is the wait. I'll be glad when this is complete so that the Pacers can re-group & Ron can move on with his career. The trade should be a new beginning for all concerned. Not a time for being depressed, rather a time to start fresh.

As I was driving into the parking lot I promised myself I was going to be home by 11:00 last night. Afterall it was about 6:15 when I arrived and shouldn't 4 plus hours be plenty really. I mean what can you talk about for more than 4 hours. Well it wasn't, not by a long shot. I got home at 3:00 AM, and I live about 10-15 minutes away.

Peck will have a blow-by-blow account as he always does. There were some crazy things said that will likely come back to haunt those who said them. We'll see.

More later

I have to say it was more entertaining than I thought it would be. I figured it would be more argumentative than it was. Much more thoughtfull informed conversation than I expected. I am definatly glad I made it.

Its much too late & I'm much too tired to give a full recap, or even a partial for that matter.

I will say that it was a nice to meet Gyron, Jay & Ragnar. As you know we have some very knowledgeable basketball people on here. Its nice that they allow me to set & listen to them a couple times a year.

I'll let Peck explain some of the things that Uncle Buck had to say. You should get a kick outta that.

Here's a list of those that made it lastnight.

ABA Days
Believe in Blue
Gamble
Gyron
Hicks
Hoops for Life
Jay@Section204
Jose Slaughter
Peck
Pig Nash
Pizza Guy
Ragnar
Roaming Gnome
Shade
Uncle Buck

I hope I didn't miss any.

Goodnight.

Fixed it for you. :flirt:

I just got up becuase I didnt get home until about 5. It was my 3rd party and it was once again a great one. It was nice to meet some new people and get to see the old ones. There was no True Warrior lip balm this time which just about ruined the party. Hicks took it the hardest becuase he had just ran out of his tube last week. Peck was our fearless leader once again and Uncle Buck informed us that our own Jeff Foster was a top 20 defensive player. Thats just a little bit of what went on Peck should have a recap sometime today. Hopefully we will see everybody back at the next one and even more new people. ABA, stay safe and we all hope to see you at a forum party when you return and you'll got a piece of pie at Perkins on me;)

I'm glad you guys were able to have a good time without me lurking in the corner. Sounds like I missed a good one (although you guys missed a fine game in Bloomington).

Sorry I missed out on meeting some of the new attendees. Hopefully everyone returns for future events......

I'm back in Chicago now, but I'm still too sleepy to talk much about this... Gotta go downstairs and catch up on the Steelers.

Good times... Good times...

Great time at the party. As usual, I "delivered" the truth to everyone.

BTW, Jeff Foster for American of the Century! What a glowing report we got about him! Too bad for Hulk though, he's going to be sitting in the 15th man seat in Atlanta pretty soon...

It was a great party again. Pizza guy and myself left about 12:30 am and arrived home by 2:30am. Got up at 6:45 am to leave for Ft Wayne. Just got back home in time for the Game tonight. tired as heck but fulfilled.

It was good to meet the new guys and visit with the old vets again. Everyone who can should attend one of these parties. A great group of classy guys to listen to and be around. Even if you disagree they are respectful of your opinion.

Therapy at a psychiatrist $100 per hour. A night at a Pacer Digest forum, priceless..

Another good night. I was surprised at the level of support for Carlisle. Mediocre at best. Almost everybody would accept his departure without a problem.

I hope I can watch the whole game tonight but I'm tired. Hoopsforlife

It would be great to have Ron there and watch all of you fawn over him and kiss his butt. I can hear it now, "Ron you are the greatest" "Pacers should never trade you" and that would be Jay saying those things.

This post is so funny that I am really "rolling on the floor and laughing my *** off"
