View Full Version : Trade idea: Ron for Kstat

Bear with me now.

Ron is one of the best defensive players in the league. He creates both offensive and defensive mismatches against almost every team in the league. But with our depth and strong coaching, I think we would benefit from replacing Ron with a player of a slightly lesser caliber.

A player like Kstat.

1. Kstat can be counted on.

You never knew what Artest was going to do. On the other hand, Kstat is reliable. You can always count on him to be ready with a slyly condescending post that reminds us that the Pistons are ultimately superior to the Pacers. Kstat provides the kind of stability that we never enjoyed with Ron.

2. Knowledge of the league.

Ron was always so caught up in fighting fans of opposing teams, promoting his record label or demanding a trade that he never really paid much attention to the nuances of other NBA teams. Kstat is hindered by no such preoccupations. With loads of free time on his hands, he's gained the knowledge of a seasoned NBA scout, and that's an invaluable asset that Artest just doesn't offer.

3. Toughness.

When push came to shove, Ron more or less crumpled under the pressure. Kstat, on the other hand, has the durability of a cockroach in nuclear winter. Abuse him all you want. It doesn't phase him.

4. "Plays well with others" factor.

Ron couldn't even play with members of his own team. Meanwhile, Kstat is right at home hanging out with fans of a rival team. He won't smash a camera or punch a fan when someone makes a smartass thread like this one.

If you ask me, Ron for Kstat is a no-brainer. The question is, will Detroit be willing to deal him? Let's hope so.

Didn't KStat force a trade from the Pistons forum during the playoffs last season?

They re-signed me, actually, but it was only a one-year deal. I doubt the salaries would match.....

I expressed to Donnie anyway that I had no desire to play alongside Tinsley, but Donnie told me not to worry....... ;)

Kstat threads scare me.... :uhoh:

Kstat's avatar makes me wonder his ability to play basketball

I don't get it. I guess that one just flew by me...

What, P-chan here doesnt scream "athletic ability?"

I like my avatar anyway. It goes with my forum title.

Well, your avatar appears to be some sort of cartoon character, perhaps a Pokemon. I guess most people don't associate any sort of athletic skill or ability with adults who watch Pokemon.

I think he probably just liked that avatar and picked it, and most likely there is no correlation between it and his athletic skill.

Boulderdash! Clearly you are both funny and a high caliber wrestler!

Id take Kstat over Artest any day of the year

Can I nominate this for Thread of the Year?

Another added bonus would be Artest would clash with Chauncey and Rip for shots and argue about his minutes being split with Prince. He'd be 260 lbs of poison for a good chemistry team like Detroit. Maybe we could even get Boston or Atlanta involve to facilitate this trade. ;)

I do have to worry about Kstat's decision to quit on his team a couple years ago. Unfortunately, I believe his heart will always lie in Detroit if he becomes a Pacer. Also, salaries don't match. The Pistons would have to throw in Darko to make it work.

I think that the rights to Michael Curry for KStat is more of an equal value.

I admit I'm not as strong with the force as he is, but I do hold two advantages: I'm under the age of 50 and I have a 40-time of better than 15 flat.....
