And we get near full value for Ron! I should include that the Lakers will be giving up a 1st round pick to get this done. Without further ado:

We get a pick, which is more than Johnson is worth and Odom, which is less than what Artest is worth. Kinda balances out. This works for the Lakers because they desperately need a PG, and it's not even a minus that AJ can't bring up the ball, because Kobe is a very good ballhandler. Seems to make both teams better.

You should also mention that this isn't your run of the mill made up trade, there are actual factual reports of the Lakers offereing a deal that centers around Lamar Odom coming here and Ron Artest going there.
