Playing a little catch up here....
The disclaimers..........
From NBA.com, a story on the Bobcats draft.
http://www.nba.com/bobcats/news/expansion_draft.html
This paragraph has the basic info.
Charlotte will receive lists from each of the 27 teams not competing in the NBA Finals 10 days prior to the scheduled Expansion Draft (June 12) and those from the competing teams in the Finals within two days of the conclusion of the Finals. Team lists will designate a maximum of eight protected players for that team’s players under contract or restricted free agents for the 2004-05 NBA season. The unprotected players are eligible for selection by the Bobcats, who will draft a minimum of 14 players from NBA rosters.

The T-wolves have a couple players that have "player options" they can exercise this spring if they want. Sprewell can opt out of his 14.6M contract for next season but if he does he should be declared mentally unfit to play. Hudson has the same option but who is gonna pay him close to 2.8M after the year of rehab he has had.
Garnett, Sprewell, Szczerbiak, Cassell & Hudson get the first 5 spots on the protected list.
Olowokandi, Johnson, Madsen & Ebi are up for the final 3 spots.
Olowokandi has been a big disapointment for the T-Wolves but they have little else at center. I think they are hoping that he can come back from a summer of rehab to start fresh next season. I hope his FG% get healthy too, .432 is just sick for a center. Kandi gets spot #6.
Johnson has started 39 of the 58 games he has played in. The down side is he is averaging less than 15 MPG. Being in the final year of his contract next season might be attractive to the Bobcats. Being 36 & making almost 5M next season might make them think twice.
Madsen has been a solid player off the bench that gets his points off hussle & put backs. He is shooting 51% in 18 MPG & the energy he brings is worth the 1.6M he earns. Madsen stays, & is #7
Ebi is the guy every Wolves fan is pulling for. Last years #26 pick fresh out of highschool, Ebi has endeared himself to the Minnesota faithful. It is much too early to give up on him & his contract is so reasonable it isn't even funny. Ebi claims spot #8.
