When we trade Ron, I think we are going to have to target some young guys. We aren't going to get a really good player (as much as I wish we could :( ). We need to find the next JO/Dale trade.

So who are some young guys we can take a chance on?

Kendrick Perkins would be one.... but it sounds like he's already starting to pan out.....

Don't want ANY projects, we already have Harrison. Plus we have 2 rookies in Saras and Danny.

I'll post Pietrus again as an option. We would have to get something else too to get a remotely fair deal and because Ron makes a little more then Pietrus.

Howard I would  over, but he's not coming.

Perkins, I like too, but again we need more than just him to get something a little more fair.

As others have mentioned, you can potentially get a player of more value if you start adding other guys to the mix (Tinsley, Jackson, etc.).

If it's just Ron by himself, Donnie and Larry will have to look for hidden/unexposed talents.

Some of the names I'm about to list are likely not reasonable trading partners, but just some young guys who I have really enjoyed watching so far:

- Ike Diogu (a mean physical presence down low).
- Joey Graham (a miniature version of Ron Artest).
- Marquis Daniels.
- David West.

And then there's always the real youngins like Gerald Greene, Antoine Wright, etc.

Well, adding Tinsley would add some value to a Ron trade, but I'm not convinced Jack is all that valuable. To certain teams he might be (the Rockets maybe) but I dunno. I'm okay with them leaving if it brings us someone really good though, I want to stay in contention.

And what young talent would Carlisle likely play and develop?

Joey Graham would be perfect, but no need to trade Artest for him I think a David Harrison for Joey Graham trade would be perfect for both teams.
Toronto needs a center in the most desperate rate way and we need a young, strong defensive specialist.

We trade for a young guy Rick probably wont play him, we get a guy like Pietrus on our team and Rick would probably still start Anthony Johnson over him. I bet if Rick could he would sign Curry right now and give him all of Danny's minutes.

And now the REALLY sad thing ... your probably right.

Btw Granger is only getting minutes so far, BECAUSE Artest is injured or whatever the hell he is, so he's forced to play Granger. Also Granger is playing limited minutes for how high he was projected to go in the draft.

You guys are full of crap, under Rick who on the Pacers has not played that has deserved playing time over the guys in front of them. Don't dare say Harrison, he has been completely lost out there this season, Pollard, Cro and Foster have all played better. Granger started the season getting playing time and played his way on the bench. Yes he is back in the rotation now because Ron is out and I'm glad he is starting to play pretty good.

I hate it so much when people say this because it simply isn't true.

What were David areas of concern coming into this season?

Rebounding, conditiong, and his fouling trouble.

He has improved ALL OF THOSE. Am I the only one that saw the Cavs game? David was awesome out there, and has looked good on defense a few other games. If he would just get the minutes, I'm convinced that he would eventually churn these types of games out regularly.

Meanwhile, Jeff gets a free pass as he is hobbling around at 50%, and even Pollard is playing in front of David.

David is better than Pollard, there is NO WAY that Pollard has earned his time. People say that David can't stay on the floor without fouling, well Pollard doesn't stay on the floor any longer than 3 minutes anymore either!!!!

I hate how just becuase Rick is being a complete @$$ towards David that everybody else is throwing him under a bus. Does anyone else remember Primoz Brezec? ANYONE CAN LOOK BAD IN GARBAGE MINUTES.

You may hate it, but you are blind if you dont think David has looked lost on occasion on the defensive end.

As for his troubles, he has improved on his conditioning and his reboudning, but he still picks up a pretty quick foul.

He's also looked really good. Many aroun here say it like he has ALWAYS looked lost on defense.

Check the stats, his fouling has gone down recently.

Another note - Sarunas looked lost on defense early in the season too. We didn't bench him for the rest of the season though.

I trust that Walsh/Bird have a list of players that they view as the next JONeal that they would want to get. I suspect that they are already backup players that just need the little nudge, change in scenary and more playing time to make it to the next level.

Given that Carlisle doesn't really play players that aren't really experienced....aka rookies ( unless they are ready to go rookie NBA level players...which are few and far between ) then its probably better to aim for the 2nd to 3rd year players.

Of the list of players so far....that would be players like:

- Josh Howard
- Marquis Daniels
- David West
- Pietrus

Personally...I like Pietrus. Defensive stopper at the 2 spot.

I haven't figured out who he reminds me of yet, but he can play either guard spot well and is probably already the Rockets best guard other than T-Mac. He will be a starter very soon, at least he should.

I just know he has that certain "it" that winning players have. Doug Collins and Reggie talked about it on Thursday after he hit a dagger 3pointer late in the 4th qtr against Sac. I've heard commentators for other teams say similar stuff about him (has courage, clutch, tough, etc.)

Yep he has "it" you can see it in his eyes. I doubt we can pry him away from the Rockets but yeah he is a baller.. no doubt...
