Iguodala is the SG and Korver is the SF? I thought it was the other way around?

I kind of hope you're right though; I'd love to see Korver guarding Ron.

Igudola could still guard ron, and they switch up.

I'm pretty sure that's the way the Sixers play them, though Korver is certainly very much a wing player. Defensively I wouldn't be surprised to see Iguodala on Ron, though, to try and offset Ron's strength advantage with Andre's quickness.

Korver, however, could try and distract Ron by offering to introduce him to his wife, Demi Moore...

Separated at birth? :chin2:

So this is only on NBATV for us out of state fans? I can't believe that I have gotten League Pass but not NBATV for two years now. I really wanted to see tonight's game.

That is my understanding as well.

I used to get League Pass, but it was an unfortunate budget casualty this year. Heating Oil is still used quite a bit out East, and it is through the roof baby! Anyway, I thought I saw on Direc TV that they were doing a free trial for something NBA related in early November. I am not sure if they were talking about League Pass or NBA TV, and I am not sure of the exact dates. You may want to check it out though. Maybe tonight is your lucky night. It is worth a shot anyway.

How are you BC? I am starting my first posts of the season. Woo Hoo! :)

It is so weird seeing Reggie on the sidelines. Oh well, the show must go on they say.

How is Boston these days? I went back for an Ocktoberfest party last month, and caught up with some old friends.

I went to a few Yankee games this year, and it was like being in Bizarro world. I am so used to the Yankees being booed, literally everywhere, it was a surreal experience seeing them cheered and the Red Sox booed. :)

Hope our guys dont really get caught up in the first home game celebrations and all that stuff and focus on the game. Sixers are a bad team no reason why we should lose to them.

I get League Pass through Digital cable. Just checked the website, and the package with NBATV is $1.99 a month. Ridiculous.

Jermaniac
11-05-2005, 07:31 PM
Yeah I got league pass through Comcast which is digital cable also. You better call them up and tell them to turn your NBATv on.

Mine is done through Brighthouse, and it looks like it is not included if I go by the website. I might call them up tonight anyway.

I'm doing great, brich, good to hear from you again.

Boston's still up in arms over the whole Epstein debacle. It's been the talk of the town for days, and I'm sure will be debated for years to come, especially if Theo becomes successful somewhere else as a GM. Ah well, typical Boston sports...

Have to try getting together to watch a Pacers/Celts game again if schedules coincide, though PacerTom won't be able to join us anymore, unless he makes a special plane trip up from Florida! ;)

We will definitely try to do that. I am dealing with a lower back injury that has limited my travel for now, but I am always good to visit there every few months. I will stop with sidebar so the thread can get back to the game. I will PM you if I am ever headed your way this season.

not all versions of the League Pass include NBA-TV, believe it or not.

BC, you left out a choice for those of us that became fans in the late seventies.

I'm not quite old enough to remember the ABA era personally and the first games I remember going to were during the 1977 and 1978 seasons.

Jermaniac

Jermaniac
11-05-2005, 09:27 PM

Hicks
11-05-2005, 09:41 PM

Jermaniac
11-05-2005, 09:46 PM
This team cant be ****ing serious playing like this, play like you are playing the Heat ****. My grandparents can play better defense.

What happened?

Jermaniac
11-05-2005, 10:11 PM

Slow night. Everyone must be at the game. Then again, it is Sat. night.

Rick I Dont Like Changes Carlisle better play JB with the big 4 in the second half, he is playing 5 times better then Cro is.

Frank Slade
11-05-2005, 10:14 PM
He twisted his left ankle, looked minor to me...
hopefully. the fact that Tinsley was pounding the floor was not good though...

The only thing good about this game is Stacy looked good in her teacher outfit at halftime, gotta love the way she had her hair pulled back. Kinda sexy.

Frank Slade

I'll just go ahead and say it... Stacy looks good tonight.

I agree that school teacher look was quite nice ;)

NorCal_Pacerfan
11-05-2005, 10:19 PM
Iverson is only 4-12 from the field, but the rest of the team is shooting lights out. They are like 62% or something. Hopefully the second half will swing our way. I really hope Tins is ok.

brich
11-05-2005, 10:24 PM
Man, our interior and weak side defense is terrible tonight. We totally let the Sixers get in rhythm early in the first half, and they absolutely stayed there. That, plus all of the turnovers we donated is the story of the game. Our offense could definitely be better, but I think our D is what has killed us so far.

Jermaniac
11-05-2005, 10:31 PM
Play some defense you dumb ****s

Pacersfan46

Jermaniac
11-05-2005, 10:40 PM
I cant watch this stupid **** anymore. Bender and Croshere under the basket going for a rebound and they tip it right to Webber who is by his damn self. Also Rick should maybe look into getting Ronnie more involved on offense.

NorCal_Pacerfan
11-05-2005, 10:41 PM
Can you say - blowout? Bull$$$$.

TMJ31
11-05-2005, 10:43 PM
This is pretty sad

this has been a unfortunate common occurance in recent years for us.

We will play a great, inspired game against a top opponent, then just let loose an absolute abomination.

down 20 now...

I still hold out hope for this game, but not a whole lot... 4 on the "big 3" each

melvyn
11-05-2005, 10:43 PM
no defense by the pacers. i mean... a team shooting 65%??? and we have given them 16 TOs.

i think we'll pick it up a bit in the 4th, but it won't be enough.

we are being dominated by a team who's 0-3

pacercoltfan
11-05-2005, 10:44 PM

Hicks
11-05-2005, 10:49 PM

no defense by the pacers. i mean... a team shooting 65%??? and we have given them 16 TOs.

i think we'll pick it up a bit in the 4th, but it won't be enough.

we are being dominated by a team who's 0-3

damn i hate it when im right.

shucks.

Carlisle made some moves that led me to believe he wanted to lose this game.

And our team still has "superstar syndrome"

because as soon as we got it close by playing team ball. Everyone wanted to be the star.

Tonight was the worst performance i've seen from a Pacer team in a loooong time. Very sad day to be a pacers a fan.

Well this is what they get, you decide to fawking show up for the game with 5 minutes left. They deserved to lose, where the hell was that intense play the first 2 and a half qtrs. Horrible play from our guys tonight, they better show up better against Miami, cause they are not the damn Sixers. I cant belive we just lost to a damn team that got their asses kicked by the Bobcast and played 4 games in 5 nights.

We will not lose on Wednesday.

I only saw the 4th quarter but Ron Artest clearly still has some screws loose. I don't know how you can trust him in the clutch because never seems to respect clutch posessions.

We better not lose on Wednesday, with Shaq out too.

Ron just didn't have a good game overall. He did jumpstart our comeback with a nice three near the end of the tird though.

Ron was hogging the ball in the final few minutes, when he should have been letting tinsley run the offense. He was getting guys open looks.

JO had 15 boards, thats a plus I guess, Jack woke up and had a good game. Hopefully this gets their attention and teaches them that a game is 48 minutes. And any team in the league will beat you if we play like this.

Hi guys, I'm new here and just got back from the game. I'll try and lighten things up by posting a quote Scot Pollard said after the game. Addressing the small crowd with a heart warming message.

"I want to thank you all for coming out here tonight. I promise we'll play better next game, and we'll whip Miami's *** again."

Frank Slade

I guess the underlying point is we where flat, and slow in the first half, began to put a few solid stretches in the third, and a solid 4th quarter.

We basically played a quarter and a half (if that) of Pacer basketball and almost got away with it...as guilty of a pleasure as that would have been.

Pacers for whatever reason are almost a better road team then home team in some cases, thriving on the us against them mentality..

I am positive this team will come out ten times more focused on Wednesday, after tonight's overall performance.

Frustrating that the Pacers let the Sixers get 20 ahead of them to begin with, but I think we made a nice little comeback.

Some things I think we need to improve on-- the tendency for individual Pacers to want to take over a game when they should be playing better team ball (in this case, Ronnie did that a few times), minimizing turnovers, and staying out of foul trouble. We certainly weren't helped by the fact that both Jermaine and Jamaal got in serious foul trouble pretty early.

This was actually the first Pacer game I've been able to watch this season, as I missed both the Magic and the Heat games because I had to work. So this was my first look at both Danny Granger and Sarunas Jasikevicius. Sarunas had some difficulties, and was probably the least effective of our three point guards tonight, but he was able to contribute with his long-range shooting in any event. I liked how Danny stayed aggressive throughout.

I think we've got a very good team here, and it's far too early for me, or anyone, to start verbally tearing them to shreds. I was under no misconception that this year would finally be the year we went 82-0, after all. We just have'ta take it one day at a time and consider each game, whether it be a win or a loss, to be a learning experience.

Besides, our almost-comeback was fun to watch, wasn't it?

We made horrible, careless, stupid passes and didn't flow very well at all except for the last quarter. You could definitely tell this was a begining season game.

Why you said that Saras was least effective of 3-pointer, he spent all the time on bench, played about 9 minutes and had 2 from 3. Not really bad I think.
