View Full Version : ROLL CALL: If you changed your user name, what was it?

Los Angeles
10-16-2005, 02:06 PM
Even though i've always been "Los Angeles" or "LA", I still think change is a good thing (especially if your user name has "miller" or "pacers" in it).

Unfortunately, I can't keep up with all of the name changes. And I know I'm not alone.

If you've changed your name recently, here's a place where everyone can look to see who you were and who you are now.

So lets hear it - who were you?

homedoggie to Fig Newton to Sig Sewton to The Yellow Dart and I'm leaning closely on changing it to Mayor West.

On another note, I'm moving and this will most likely be my last post for a few weeks because I have to get my internet hooked up there, and it's in the middle of the backwooded country and doesn't look to good for the cable company to find. Perhaps back to dish I go.

Honestly?

You've been a member since May, 2004 and have posted over 1,000 times. And yet, I can't really guess where you stand on any manner of topics. Choosing a name with more individuality might help you stick out better in the crowd. :twocents:

You can still put a "formerly _________ " in your subhead so folks won't assume you're a Noob.

Well, I signed up a long time ago with howboutanicebrew_er, because I was the only Jamison Brewer fan this side of the galaxy. But, something went wrong somewhere along the line and I went to pizza guy because I work at Arni's Pizza. Then, I changed to the current because out of all the lines in Macbeth (by Shakespeare, yes) the line about life being a tale full of sound and fury.

Quick question, because I've encountered dislike for my current name, which is better? Should I go back to pizza guy? Stay with SoundAndFury? Something totally different?

I used to be Flonase, but then someone called to my attention that it was the name of a nasal spray. So of course I had to change it. And it's too bad, too, because I had become wildly popular here as Flonase. For some reason I've never been able to get that back with Harmonica.

I've always been me. twscholl is for Timothy W.
Related to this topic, it has always fascinated me that email (and by extension discussion boards) moved from being simple names to personalities. If I wanted to email a colleague, I used his name, initials, etc. Now, when I go to email students, I am in a quandary -- "Let's see, is James Smith 'Suferdude22' or 'hipposaregreat' ". I'm certainly not against it, but it is interesting.
