The draft date is just about set in stone, October 22

The start time is another matter.

Most likely we will be starting our draft just after Displaced Knicks ABA Keeper League. Right now that looks to be around 11 AM.

I know you guys that live out west will be happy about that. :)

Also, this year we have a couple of guys from Europe joining us, Able & Mourning. I've spoken with Mourning & he is 7 hours ahead of us, I'm not sure about the time difference for Able.

There is a poll on the site about how best to set the draft clock.

Please vote on this

You have two options.

1. You will allowed 15 minutes to make your draft pick in each round.

2. You will be given a total of 1 hour to use how you like to make your picks for the entire draft.

There are options that I can add with either selection.

If we go with the first one I can change the draft clock in the middle of the draft from 15 minutes to 3. Right now there is no other time option between the two.

If we go with the second choice then I can impose a set time limit per pick. Even though you have an hour I could skip you if you take longer than 10 minutes to make your pick.

Right now the 15 minute per pick option is leading in the voting, 7-3

I think you can probably look at 10 a.m. as a start time if you like. I'm planning on treating that just like a work day - I should be able to log onto the site at 7, do what I need to do to customize the KL draft, and start that at 8. We only have 54 selections to make - surely 2 hours will get us through that.

I don't really mind waking up in the middle of the night if I have too, I do have a preference, offcourse for a more "christian" time (as we like to say), say something like 05:00 AM/06:00 AM CET, which is about 12:00/13:00 Indiana time.

That would be my choice-- 15 minutes for maybe the 1st 4 rounds, then 3 minutes.

Ditto - if it matters.

I think Mourning's math just got banged up by a very heavy big dude.

11 AM Indy = 5 PM UK and 6 PM Netherlands

good time to start, providing it don't take 24 hours :)

set 3 minutes for all picks, which = 12 * 3 = 36 minutes per team, which if taken full is still 14.4 hours :)

The draft tend to run between 6 & 7 hours, last years was very close to 7.

I'm hoping most of the problems we had lst year will not happen this time. People tend to drag out the first two rounds looking for trades. I can deal with that to a certain point but there should be a limit.

Another big problem from last season was people not being able to stay for the entire draft. At one point I was drafting for 6 other people. Trying to maintain 7 contengency list can be a challenge. I hope everyone is avilable for most of the draft.

Reminder for any future polls; you might use this forum to make it.

I say you make your own picks, IF you can't stay for half the draft than sorry, but make your contingency list LONG ;).

In the trial league the contingency list only allowed for a dozen or so players.

I assume that will be the case for this league also?

I think it goes up to 20 players once you have been registered for more than two days or something to that sort.

Gold players have a 20 player contengency list

Platinum have 30.

I'm up for the draft whenever as long as it's on a weekend day which I'm sure it is.

Like I said in the e-mail I sent to you Jose, I thought early on the picks should be longer, but later the packs should be shorter, so that means I like the 15, 15, 3 every other round system.
