Someone tell me about the new Zombie Mode in Black Ops. Please.

Same 4 characters as WAW in the first map you get, in order to continue the story from WAW. But once you beat the campaign, you unlock a map in the Pentagon where you play as JFK, Nixon, Castro, and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara.
Which the dialogue in that level is hilarious. Also, there's something special you can do at the menu screen that can unlock several other new modes. ;)

I don't understand how people actually enjoy playin Call Of Duty online. The maps are so claustrophobic compared to the Battlefield games... plus no vehicles? I'll pass.

I don't understand how people enjoy playing anything online. Every other word is a eff this eff that, racist, or some 12 year old mouthing off because he killed you. I'll pass.

Fixed.

I usually play with friends, either privately or in a party so we don't hear the dreck. On the rare occasion I play multiplayer on my own, I plug in the headset and don't wear it.

I changed from Underground to Casual or Pro on Xbox Live when I'm not playing with friends and it helps a lot. It generally helps a lot. I rarely talk, but I usually get good info when I'm playing domination or something like that with someone who has a mic.

That's why on your kill/death screen, you go to each name and you press the X button. It mutes them.

Why would you pass on an entire game because of language when you can instantly mute every single person?

EDIT: I just got back into playing Xbox after a pretty long hiatus. Playing Halo online really burnt me out. I was tired of getting stickied from across the map etc. Then my roommate got Tiger '11, and that got me back into the swing of things. Great game, btw.

Started playing CoD MWII about a week before Black Ops came out. Now we have Black Ops, and been playing quite often.

I don't think I'll ever go back to Halo.

I tried that, but I found I was spending just as much time muting people as I was playing the game. Wasn't worth it to me. I'd rather have fun than play the role of morality police on Xbox Live.

Just mute everyone in between the matches. You have a 40 second layover anyway.

Since, IMO, I think from strictly a gameplay point Black Ops is superior to MW2. The graphics in MW2 were better, but I could never get into the maps and I hated how it just turned into a camping fest as everyone tried to get to the 15+ kill streak rewards.

The maps are pretty complicated, IMHO, which isn't a complaint. I literally just started playing CoD, ever, a week ago. So I'm pretty much a newbie. I know if you look at my gamertag info, it will show a lot of play, but most of that is due to my roommates using my Live account instead of getting their own. Which I told them was okay with me. Anyways.....

The maps are just complicated, but I like it because it's so realistic. I'm still trying to get the finer points down, but I don't do too badly when it's just me playing. I would say I average about 12 and 15. But a lot of deaths are me forgetting to melee and just not getting the finer points.

I usually play a lot of late night games, after midnight, because I'm usually the only one up.

I'll get a list together of people from here and send out some friend requests. It will be reeb1011.

Oh, and for the record. I just hate playing Nuketown. Although after watching my roommate handle it pretty well last night, I might be a little better at it. It's just way too small for my tastes. There are times when you can't go 10ft without dying because it just respawns everyone in the middle of action.

Trader Joe
11-16-2010, 04:02 PM
Dude, Nuketown is the **** once you learn how to play small maps. They are easily the most fun with a good team around you, and my buddies and I got to be really good, especially on COD 4.

You never played COD4 , the original modern warfare, I'm guessing, but it had a map called "Shipment", that was about 1/4 the size of Nuketown. Just a flat square with some metal shipping containers all around. Get a good team with you on that in domination and you could rack up some games where you had 100+ kills.

Since86
11-16-2010, 04:13 PM
We usually switch between free-for-all and small team, so usually kills don't exceed 22-23.

I haven't played around with the different games. I hated the challenge games for Halo, like Capture the Flag, so that's why I haven't explored the rest of it.

Nuketown BLOWS!! Might as well make it a closet and hand everyone rifles and shut the door. I hate levels that take no strategy other than running around and shooting or camping in a bunch and spawn killing the other guy/team.

And one other thing. Is it just me, or is it impossible to hear other people's footsteps? In MW2, my headphones did me up right. Black OPs I can hear crap. It's like footsteps are super muted.

Trader Joe

More people could be using the perk that allows them to move silently Scott, and I disagree that there is no strategy to Nuketown, it just depends on who you're playing with.

World of Warcraft - Cataclysm launches tonight (Dec. 7, 3:00am EST)

I am so stoked about this expansion and the fact they completely redid the original game world with all new quests and landscapes.

Anyone else playing WoW? I have 4 level 80s. Paladin, Warlock, Mage and Rogue, and it is always hard to pick a main when a new expansion launches. I think I am going to level the Rogue to 85 first. There is no other class that is more fun to play than a Rogue while the whole server is trying to level. That is if you are on a PvP server.

I have a ton of games installed on my computer, but this is probably the only one I will be playing until Star Wars the Old Republic comes out.

I'm interested in seeing the interactive comic they're incorporating that covers 1 and will integrate the choices you make into your profile. Considering how drastically better the gameplay is in 2, I think that's a pretty good way to go. As good as the story was, I don't think I could bring myself to play 1 again. Mako=suck.

I got Rock Band 3 for Christmas, along with this insane Pro Guitar (over a hundred buttons!) and the keyboard.

Gonna take a while to get comfortable with these. I'm barely hanging on with Easy when I use the pro guitar. I can't play guitar for real, so it's all new to me, and what's more it changes the "conversion" between screen and guitar.

What I mean by that is with previous Rock Band / Guitar Hero games, as the notes moved from left to right on the screen, so did your fingers move from left to right to press/hold the buttons on the plastic guitar.

Now, when things move from left to right, you don't go left to right, you go from close to further away (like the strings on a real guitar). If that weren't somewhat confusing enough after years playing the other way, since it's also about dealing with different frets, you have to pay attention to the fret # above the note and be ready to slide from left to right (or the opposite) on the guitar.

So hopping around is way, way more difficult than it is on the 5-button guitar.

And that's to say nothing about chords; which I can't really do yet on-the-fly when they change.

Definitely a challenge.

Meanwhile, even though what I've read has me less than enthused, I think I may finally pick up Black Ops soon so I can hang with folks I haven't for a long time on Xbox Live (since that's the game 'everyone' is playing right now).

I got NBA 2K11 for 360 on Christmas. The game is amazing, but I am having some trouble with post up moves and just shooting in general. It will take some time to get the release of a shot down.

Is there any kind of list of post up moves and how to do them out there? The manual is pretty sparse on things like that.

I do love the My Player mode though. It is much better then the Superstar mode in Madden. You feel much more involved in the game with only 10 players on the court at a time compared to 22.

Getting pretty good at the bowling and boxing and track and field events in Kinect Sports. Theres an awesome mini game for the bowling where you throw a ball with each hand and they just keep putting up pins as fast as they can. The goal is to knock as many as you can down in the time limit.

Also I've still been playing Fallout New Vegas. I got the new add on, Dead Money, which gives several new quests, raises the level cap to 35, and lots of new weapons and armor. I started a new game with a new character too. I always play as a sneaky sniper but this time I am making an unarmed specialist build. This game is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it's so fun, a curse because I will sit down to play it after putting the kids to bed and look up at the clock and it's suddenly 2:30 AM.

It's great that you like it, but I don't think I could ever call a sports game my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy playing them. But knowing that in 12 months it's going to be replaced by a nearly identical game, I could never call that my favorite. I know everything has sequels now, but sports games in general just recycle too much stuff from year to year to year. And Madden specifically is a repeat offender. Players have been asking for certain things to be fixed in that game since 2007.

After receiving a late Christmas gift of a $25 Walmart card, I decided to finally take the plunge and buy Black Ops.

Unfortunately, while Walmart.com listed the 360 version for $49.96, the local store had no problem still charging $59.99, so in the interest of saving $$ I've opted for the "Ship to store" option on Walmart.com. Which is nice in that it saves me $10, but sucks in that I may not get the game until as late as mid January.

Oh, I agree. I've been playing Madden for longer than I can remember.

The Franchise and Superstar modes haven't had the slightest upgrade since 07, but that doesn't stop me from buying it every year :p

It's just annoying from my standpoint, considering all Madden does is upgrade online play, which IMO, still sucks. It's laggy as could be and too many quitters which they can't control. Being a Franchise type of guy, it would be nice to see them attempt to upgrade it sometime soon.

I was a huge N64 Goldeneye 007 junkie in its time. I was excited when I found out it was being "remade" for Wii. So much so I bought a Wii to see for myself. So I finally got my hands on it, and have been playing online. To anyone who is a true die hard old school goldeneye fan this game lacks in certain, easily fixable aspects.

In no particular order

the music: this should be so easy home run for them to get right. There is a ton of already recorded 007 music from composer john barry from all the movies and the previous game, but they chose to go in a different direction with some new age techno terrorist stuff. It's not horrible but if they wanted to remake the game some of the sounds should have come along. I would pay a few bucks for a music upgrade.

The world of online multiplayer: when n64 goldeneye was at it's peak it was great because friends got together to hang out and play. I never wanted anything to do with online multiplayer because there is no loyalty. I've never played COD in any fashion but from what people tell me the goldeneye wii follows suit with a ranking system and XP which all seems like a ploy to get you to play for hours on end. By the time you reach a certain level and have access to all the best unlockable items people below a certain rank have a very slim chance of killing you. I'm almost there and I don't really know how to feel about it. I still say the best way to play is with friends in the same room. One of the worst things is "license to kill" multiplayer mode is locked and will days of gaming to unlock it.

Maps: I assume more maps will become available eventually, but there are only a few above average ones and the rest are suspect. For example they have a multiplayer board "the facility" which was a classic in goldeneye 64 and perfect dark, but they changed it so much and no one likes playing there. The old map would have been amazing to see again. Hopefully they will release something along those lines.

The actual one player mission mode: This is almost unplayable. When I beat Goldeneye 64 on 007 agent mode looking back it might have been one of my greatest video game accomplishments. That game was HARD on that difficulty level. This new one not so much. It's kinda fun, but not really a challenge. It has checkpoints which makes it so easy to literally run through the game. On N64 you got one chance to beat a board and if they shot you at the very last second you had to do the whole thing over again. There was no running through anything in that game. Yeah the AI wasn't they best, but somehow they got the job done. In the new goldeneye wii even on the hardest difficulty you don't even need to conserve ammo. Everything is plentiful from body armor to weapons it's just kinda lame. For anyone who never played goldeneye 64 and thinks I'm exaggerating about it's difficulty. Find a N64 a try and beat on 007 mode.

I knew going into it they could never capture the magic of goldeneye 64 frankly the game is legendary, but I do think they could of tweaked some minor things to make it more familiar.

I knew I avoided this for a reason. I remember getting turned off when I heard it wouldn't even be Pierce Brosnan's Bond. Don't call it Goldeneye if you're not going to use the Goldeneye actor.

I had no idea, though, that they butchered it this badly.

This was a simple win waiting to happen, and they dropped the ball. Hell, in this case you could get away with doing absolutely nothing to the original (which most fans would want anyway) and just do this:

1) See if you can add an optional WiiMote control option (where you point the wiimote like a gun, that kind of thing)

2) Definitely allow for the classic control schemes

3) Keep the multiplayer exactly as it was, only allow 2-4 player mode to be either split screen in the same room or online.

Easy, easy win. Too bad.

So NBA 2K11 is pretty accurate. I made a athletic C and got drafted by the Celtics in the first round. I started out battling JO for minutes and then I took over the 6th man role. Eventually I took over the starting spot from Shaq and was having some great games. I had a game where I had 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 6 block shots. Then I go into the next game and I am back to the 6th man role. I go and check the news and Shaq complained about having more minutes so the Celtics gave him the starting role back.

They have the back stabbing Shaq right. haha.

Star Wars the force unleashed 2.

Underwhelming is the word I would use to describe it. Graphics are out of this world and game play is decent but story line is lacking to the point of really there not being a story line.

However I have to say some people would like this game much more than me because I really like games where I participate in the story (Fallout, Fable, RDR, etc.) and this game is for those who enjoy mostly action and the story line is just movie segments between the fighting. You don't take part in any of the story other than the fight.

Some people will love that, I don't.

So really it's not fair for me to judge this game because it's just not my preferred style of game.

However it is definately Lucas quality in the graphics department though.

Okay, quick Live question for you guys.

When we try playing CoD, it goes through the pregame lobby screen and then the map starts loading, and it never gets into the actual game. The loading bar across teh bottom gets to probably 95% and then slows to a snail pace, with the white circle loading thingy spinning. It will stay like that for 10mins, and longer, if we didn't just turn it off.

I don't know what is going on. I didn't think it would be the game, and my Live works with other functions.

Any ideas?

Games on my list: Red Dead Redemption...not having a co-op element to the campaign has kept me and my friends from getting this game. Fallout 3 would be another game. Any game that Bethesda makes is pure gold like Bioware. RPG's FTW!!

Do you know what grinds my gears about 2k? On Association Mode the Pacers franchise isn't allowed to fire Jim O'Brien until like three seasons of playing. It's just kind of frustrating because Association Mode is what I do on 2k every year it comes out.

Found that out the hard way as well. But the coach really has no bearing on the game. I don't run that many set plays. I just need to figure out how to change plays and crash the boards. Whenever I shoot on offense, there is never anyone around the basket.

Also, I'm upset that when you unlock Jordan you can't use him in Association Mode (only way to do is is to trade with another Jordan in the original Roster and then start an Association), but it's just not the same. Meh. That was a bit disppointing cause I thought you'd be able to use him in any mode starting from a rookie. But I've been working on PG's skills and he's an absolute beast for me. PG avgs 24pts, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game...and I'm not even in the running for MVP or even the All-Star. WTF! lol

I've been mostly working on the My Player Mode. Only way you can be successful it seems is to be a point. Didn't care for it too much at first, but it's slowly growing on me. I'm a 6'4" point, that the Timberwolves are using me solely at Shooting guard. Kinda stupid so I requested a trade to either the Heat or the Lakers. I'm a 59 (just 6 games into my first season) and averaging 11pts, 6 rebounds (2.5 offensive a game and my rebounding skills suck and I would have more if Love didn't steal all of them from me) 4 assists, .7 steals, .7 blocks (Team Grade A-). They had me guard LeBron James when we played the Heat, but I did pretty good...I did have a hard time guard Mike Miller for some reason.

Nope I am pretty successful with 6'6" shooting guard. I am 7th in scoring by averaging 29 points per game and I am around 8th or so in rebounds. I got drafted to the Pacers and it is pretty spot on. Either the guys that make this game are really detailed oriented or one of them is a Pacers fan.

James Posey is getting around 25 minutes and spends most of his time at PF and McRoberts and Hansbrough are sharing the rest. Of course there are plays designed just so Posey can pop the the three.

It started out a bit slow being just a rotation guy, but once I dropped a couple 30 point bombs I got put into the starting line up. I had 45 points the other night and set the Pacers single game record of three pointers made.

I have really got into the MyPlayer mode, but it can be so aggravating at times. DC is hurt in mine so TJ is getting the starting minutes and he personally has thrown away three games. Nothing you can do when you come off a screen set by Foster to be wide open and TJ throws it right into Rose's hands.

I just made my guard a three point shooter and just spent most of my initial skill points on the various shooting skills. I focused on the shooting drill during my summer camp on the skills that my guy will use the most like three point shooting, mid range shooting, shooting off the dribble, and shooting in traffic.

My guy has 70's in all of the shooting skills and has an 80 in three point shooting and I use the Jordans that give me a +4 in three point shooting.

I just made sure to always get A+ in the games especially the key games that will pop up here and there. Those key games can give you a ton of skill points especially if you hit some milestones.

When I first started I was terrible, but I started using the shot feedback tool and learned my guys shooting style and now most of my shots get a green feedback.

Also, I found the more your team likes you the more they involve you. When I first started out I went with a cocky PF type guy and I was slowly pushed out of the offense. Now that my guy is more of the professional type guy I am used heavily in the offense.

I'm becoming so addicted to My Player Mode. I requested a trade to the Lakers and got it, so now I'm their starting point instead of a backup for the Wolves. I chose a team that had a sucky point guard situation and the Heat and Lakers were among the tops.

I'm up to a 75 now and I have triple doubles in 7 of the last 8 games. I've been averaging 24pts 11boards, 11assists, 2 steals and 1.5 blocks since being traded. Not too shabby for my point (but also 5 turnovers/game, OUCH!). I get an A+ in every game now.

I heard someone say the sim My Player Mode? Sure you can do that, but you don't get any points to make your guy better. I've mostly been focusing on allocating points for defense.

When you do the drills, always do the Dribble Course and just reset till you get a +2 in speed. Speed costs the most and after you get close to 99, you can take the speed away for extra points!

Me too, but they lost the D&D license. Unfortunately, Atari has it and they are making NeverWinter Nights Online with Cryptic Studios, which has only made sub par games so far.

At least Bioware has the Star Wars license. Star Wars - The Old Republic is going to be freakin awesome. It comes out this summer.

cant believe this is actually coming out in MAY!

Announced in April 1997, Duke Nukem Forever will have been in development for 14 years by the time it is released. It will only have been in development by Gearbox for about 9 months. Once they finally got it away from 3D Realms, it took Gearbox less than a year to polish up and release what 3D Realms already had. 3D Realms founders self financed the game to the tune of ~$20 million, and settled multiple lawsuits with their publisher, Take Two Interactive, over failure to deliver the game. Gearbox by most accounts has less than $2 million wrapped up in securing the rights to the game and finishing it but stands to receive ALL of the money the game brings in, as both 3D Realms and Take Two interactive surrendered any financial connection to the game. Even if it sells badly they will easily make that back and then some. The real bad part of all of this is that many of the folks who worked on the game for 3D Realms over the years had deferred salary wrapped up in the release of the game that they will not get as a result of the lawsuits and settlements, and the ultimate sale of the entire game. The head honchos at Gearbox who received everything in connection to the game said that when they looked through it all, the game was within a month or two of release 4 or 5 times during the 13 years, only to be scrapped at the 11th hour. No wonder Take Two sued them.

Yeah, I'm not getting four Halo games, but Reach is a certainty. I'm also going to have to get Dead Space 2, Army of Two, Dante's Inferno, the new Star Wars game that's name has escaped me, and the ME games. Oh yeah, and the new Duke Nukem game that is finally coming out.

I'm also getting Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil 5 because me and my friends used to have a blast playing zombie arcade games back in the day.

I heard Rift was a medicore World of Warcraft clone. I think I'll stay away, though I can recommend World of Warcraft as the best game ever.. but only if you don't have children and keep your gaming time to a minimum. I cringe when I find adults with children that play MMORPGs or even worse, adults that let their children play MMORPGs. These games can take over your life very easy, not to mention the bad communities in which horrible social skills like racism, homophobia, and vile language are expressed as normal behavior.

There is legislature right now to put warning labels on violent video games, but I think they are focusing on the wrong type of games. They need to be putting these warnings on games like World of Warcraft and Rift and other MMORPGs.

Why not? Have you gotten off the citadel? Just do the main story missions on therum/noveria/feros and then vermire/the end. The story is really good but the gameplay can be a bit slow. Better in ME2.

Yes, we should have warned you, the first couple hours can really suck. Whenever I replayed it I did everything I could to get off the Citadel as soon as possible.

As I recall, the three main missions after you leave the Citadel are alright, but it isn't until you get to Vermire that it really gets going. From there until the end of the game is a real rush.

Also, there's nothing wrong with skipping all the optional stuff and just sticking to the main story. Sure, some of it can be interesting, but mostly it's useless fluff. After playing ME2, the thought of going on all those Mako missions again makes my skin crawl.

COD4 was the best. Then Black Ops, then MW2, and finally WAW

Agreed. MW2's multiplayer was beyond frustrating. Between the ridicilous kill streaks and campers I just could not really enjoy it like COD4. MW2 also seemed much more glitchy then COD4. Nothing beats people getting unlimited care packages during a game. Once that glitch became prevalent I just quit playing.

The second one is definitely better. This first one is great, but repetitive. Also there were some mechanical kinks which is to be expected in a game like this. The second one really seemed to fix everything. It was much smoother, more varied, and the story was just as good, if not better. Once you get going you won't want to stop.

Easy to see why the other games are consuming your life. COD online is addicting as hell. Boderlands is pretty fun too. Mass Effect, well there are good reasons why it won so many game of the year awards.

Oh and check out Assassins Creed Brotherhood too. I haven't played the campaign at all, but played the online play and its pretty fun, very different than every online game I'm used to.

Assassin's Creed was a pain. 2 is much, much better. And Live, I would highly recommend playing Brotherhood's campaign. They've perfected the mechanics and the story is excellent, especially for a perceived add-on. I was just talking with a friend of mine about it, and we agreed the next one can't be called Assassin's Creed 3 because Desmond's story is advanced so much in Brotherhood, moreso than in either of its predecessors. Plus, it ends on such a cliffhanger that there's no way they could ignore it going forward.

Assassin's Creed was a pain to find all the flags, especially out in the country-side. Took me forever and a day to find the last flag.

The second was just awesome. Also, thought the feathers were a lot better, though some could be hard to see unless you were right on top of them.

Not looking forward to finding both feathers and flags in the 3rd, probably why I haven't started. That and I downloaded some DLC for Borderlands since they were 50% off and I'm still heavily addicted to NBA 2k11's my player mode. I'm an 85 through 37 games: Averaging 26pts (top 10), 11 boards (top 5), 12 assists (league lead), 3 steals (lead league) and 1.5 blocks. I turn over the ball more than 4 times a game (also to lead the league), but it's not always my fault!

I averaged 30 ppg, 10 rpg, 1 bpg, and 2 apg. I should have been in the running for MVP and leading scorer, but my guy ended up missing about 20 games.

I was so glad I ended up getting the second seed instead of the third seed. For some reason the Knicks gave me the most trouble. Every single one of our games win into overtime. Instead I get the Bucks.

anyone has gotten Dragond Age II yet?

Yeah, it is amazingly gorgeous on the PC with the high res textures.. that is if you have the system that can do it. I have a top end system with a sort of good video card (HD5870) and I can run it on max settings, 1920x1080 reso, with 8xAA at about 40FPS.

There are a lot of old school RPG snobs who are whining about how it is an action game, it's still a great RPG, just don't expect it to be Baldur's Gate 2011. It is a lot different from the first Dragon age. There is no isometric/strategy camera view and all the talents and abilities are redone, better I think. I mean it's Bioware, you know it's awesome.

It also seems better balanced than the first Dragon Age. I ended up duoing Nightmare mode in Origins because it was so easy once I figured out how to use the right tactics. I had to gimp myself for a challenge. This one is alot tougher so far, I had trouble killing a boss guy in hard mode, which was cool.

Anyway go get it. But maybe not if you aren't on a good PC?

For counterpoint read this. http://www.videogamessuck.com/review437.html

This question came up after I played Black Ops last night. Why do people play strategy type game types like CTF, Domination, Neutral bomb, or whatever and not play the game like it is supposed to be played?

Last night while playing CTF one of our teammates refused to go capture the enemy flag when it was two feet away from our base. All he had to do was get up, grab the flag and take a few steps and we tie the game up, but nooooooooo he just set there prone trying to snipe people who were trying to come return the flag. I was racing over after killing the guy who had our flag so we could return the enemies flag, but by the time I got over there time ran out and we lost.

I get finding a place that you can cover A and B in Domination and hanging out there. You are actually helping the team and getting your precious kills, but when you are sniping in an area where the other team has claimed that flag you are being useless to the team!

If you just want to kill people just play team deathmatch.

I had it last year and I had the show I liked it. But now that the show has the same type of controls I dont know if I should buy it. I would buy it for Xbox though.

How is my player is it any better or harder?

i had a season on last years game where I hit once my guy maxed out where i went .600 168 hrs and 400+ rbi's it was so easy and unreal

The MY Player mode is amazing! It has one glitch and that is when someone grounds to the first baseman, and you're the pitcher, you can't run over to help get the guy out. I'm sure they'll fix it though.

In the show in the RTTS mode I am half way though my 3rd year and was an all star. My only grip is my Cubs traded me to the Yankees . Now I have to wait 3+ years to become FA eligbly or however it works in baseball to go sign back with my Cubs.

So did anyone here try Dragon Age 2? I just finished it

I hope I just barely scratched the surface..so far played about 3 hours...spent well over 60 hours in the first one...not bad so far...kinda got lost a bit in the begining with regards to the time table compared to the original but things have cleared up it seems...fun game...not really feeling the side characters though...they seem to be bi+chin' too much...

great graphics and fun gameplay although im not too happy with the camera during the battle scenes as you get attacked from left and right and aren't able to have a good sense like you did in the first one by zooming out...

After managing to let it sit, installed, forever, I'm finally playing Starcraft 2. I'm enjoying chipping away at the campaign. Haven't played any online/offline skirmish games yet.

I am completely addicted to this game, not even playing it, but the scene. I absolutely love it. There are some pretty awesome things going on right now for professional Starcraft 2 here in the US.

I love to play, but my laptop isn't great at running the game. Add that to the fact that I'm terrible at it too haha. But its a lot of fun to play online especially if you have friends who play. Feel free to add me if you want to play some games,

Yeah I know. They tried to make the game more action based and with faster pace. And it worked generally because the combat system looks so much cooler and more real. my rogue teleports around the battlefield and uses really cool attacks. and some of the bosses are very, very, unique, with cool attacks. but I got a bit sick of combat eventually... you go in the streets, you get a fight for no real reason... sometimes not even plot based... and at some point you almost normally fight SWARMS of generic fighters, which kinda ruins it... the world got really small too..
but its still a great game and I really enjoyed it. probably not as much as I enjoyed Origins but still

how many hours did you spend playing it? did you just do the main quest or the side missions as well?

Playing Homefront right now.

The story is disturbing from the standpoint that you can see how some of this is very possible (not North Korea but some other Asian power).

Very very Red Dawn feel to it so far.

Which makes sense considering it was written by the guy who did Red Dawn.

Haven't played the multiplayer part yet, here it is kind of weak but can't say for sure myself.

I think about 30-40 hours.
I tried making a "full run" but I was really unable to finish all the side quests for a few reasons:
1. if you progress too much in the main quest, you're unable to do some sub quests. The problem is that usually it warns you before that... I know how DA is supposed to work, but this isn't the case here. In act 3 for example if you go somewhere at some point it just forces you to do the main quest even though the same place has a side quest, and that main quest ends the act. So I was unable to complete that side quest.
2. Some quests are bugged in a way they cannot be finished. personally I encountered one, others reported of more

some people have greatly criticized the companions and that they aren't as good as the origins companions, it's probably true but the characters aren't that bad, and the companion quests have improved greatly if you ask me.
btw, tell me if you find any "super weapons" like in Origins. the really good axe the dwarf sold at the camp, the Longsword that dropped in "unbound" quest, the dagger sold at dwarf town, etc. I found maybe 3 different armor sets for my rogue but not even one unique weapon

It is an amazing game. I am terrible at it. There so much multitasking and you have to be really quick and know all your hotkeys. But I LOVE watching the commentated matches on youtube.

I'm the same way right now. I'm in silver league. I do feel like if I played more regularly and had a better computer I would be much better. I know what to do, just need to get the execution down and thats only gonna come from practice.

Husky and HD really got me into the sc2 scene. They showed me the pro players, teamliquid.net, and maybe most importantly Day9. That man is a saint haha.

My favorite is QXC, his multitasking is pretty awesome. TLO is really fun to watch because he is so creative.

I honestly hated it at first, but it got pretty addicting after you get drafted. My player is a super stud now. I haven't played it in awhile, and I need to finish out my first season.

Game outlook is pretty bleak. I'm only looking forward to about 3 games and they are all in the fall (if none get pushed back). Arkham City, Gears 3, Elder Scrolls Skyrim.

I really want Gearbox to work on a sequel to Borderlands. Man, that game was a lot of fun, especially since it's 4 player coop. I'd rather player coop than multiplayer, unless it's something like Horde mode.

Ok, after several days of playing homefront's multi player mode I can officially say that it is..... meh.

To me the characters are very hard to see on the screen. Everything is very brightly lit with colors and all of the uniforms (both US & Korea) are very light camo style so you have to use the color above their heads to determine who is who from a distance. The problem with that is that if an ally is in the line of sight either in front of or behind that masks the enemy.

Plays just like COD so you don't have to get used to any new controls or anything. Maps are huge and a lot of people can play so that is good.

But overall, it's really nothing special.

I was thinking of picking that up. Is there a feature to create your own wrestler? Is there coop capabilities like tag team? Passed Act II in Dragon Age II...honestly I didn't get into this game with crazy expectations as some people have had and I think it helped me enjoy the game as for what it is and not what people wanted it to be (which is the whole world is going to blow up and you are the sole person to rescue it!) - that already happened in Origins so this spin/tale in DA II was welcomed from my side.

Mages are great when you're surrounded by 15 enemies...but when its one on one VS. a boss, it turns into a cat-n-mouse game where the Mage is the mouse running away and firing to save his ***...

Was upset to see that the second part (Zerg campaign) isn't expected until sometime in 2012. :unimpress Blizzard needs to speed the **** up a little bit. I understand when the result is a complete, finished product, but to stretch this out over YEARS for what was supposed to be ONE GAME is ridiculous.
