New renderings reveal more detail of what the Colts stadium will look like. This cutaway view shows:

A large window at the end of the field that will split in two vertically and slide open to either side. (The one on the other end, not shown, will do so, as well.)

The roof, shown open, is divided in half lengthwise and slides to either side.

The field will be 25 feet below street level.

Watch it grow

A ceremonial groundbreaking on the $500 million stadium is tentatively scheduled for next week. Here are anticipated start times for the real work:

This year: Mass excavation/site clearing, Oct. 10; foundations, Nov. 21.

2006: Superstructure, Feb. 16; interiors, June 16; exterior skin, Aug. 14; roof structure, Sept. 12.

2008: Ready for kickoff, Aug. 15.

But 1st, a parking issue

The RCA Dome's south lot will close for construction Monday, but tailgaters are being urged to find a new home for Sunday's game. Sixty garages and lots are within a six-block walk of the Dome. Two options: 1,000 spaces in the state's Washington Street garage will be open for $10 each. The state will open its Senate Avenue garage to the public for $5. Oooh! Oooh! Does it come with a defense?!?!

I think they were confused Btown....They only ordered "THE FENCE" for the new stadium.

Defense unfortunately was out of stock when they placed their building supplies order......

I'm a really huge design snob. Nothing is good enough for me.

And even I really like this drawing.

Now let's see if the end result will look anything like it.

No, the defense was already delivered. Post-marked "Philly." =D
