Chad Ford, ESPN Insider, wrote about the Bulls today and how they are looking to trade Crawford.

One of the trade ideas he came up with:

AL Harrington and Fred Jones

for

Jamaal Crawford and Jerome Williams

I'd hate to see my twin get assassinated, but I'm not sold on Jamaal Crawford, so I wouldn't do this deal. Jerome Williams does make it a little more interesting, but I'm not sure where he'd get many minutes, even with Al gone?

Also, if Tinsley isn't part of this trade then I think the rotations would be:

PG Tinsley / (Pick one) / (Pick another one)
SG Crawford/ Uncle Reg
SF Artest/ Bender
PF Foster/ Williams/ Croshere
C O'Neal/ Foster/ Pollard

I don't think this makes us any better than we are now.

NO. Al is better than Crawford. No NO NOO.

Funny what a difference a few months can make. I probably would have jumped all over this deal before the season started. Crawford now seems a little too streaky for my taste, and Al has really stepped up this year.

Pass.

so in a few more months you will change your mind?

I'm with you guys. Crawford's great for a young team making its way up, or even for a "pretty good" team. The Pacers are title hunting. No reason - though long-term it would give you a potential replacement for Reggie.

Isn't Crawford a bit of a knuckle head, meaning malcontent? I just really don't like his game...he seems very wild, almost like a Jason Williams pull up shooter. How is the kids D? As for J-Y-D? Heck No!

:spitout: I'll have to say No on this one!

That would be a tempting trade, if Al were asking for a ticket out. Which I do not believe he is right now.

I like JYD and think he is a great role player off the bench with energy.

Crawford will grow up. Reggie did. But right now, if he came here, I'd believe Reggie would still start.

What works against this trade idea the most, besides a reluctance to trade Al, is Crawford's contract. He's going to need a new one and someone might shoot him a crazy offer that we would be reluctant to match.

Hey Buck,

Did you notice where Chad Ford mentioned that he heard the rumor from David Whitley?

Puff...puff...pass. ;)

Crawford is a nice player...

don't need poor shot selection and decision making right now... I'm hoping Reg and JB getting their legs back and Tinsley improving his shot will be enough for us on the perimeter...for now.

Resigning Crawford along with swallowing JYD's 4 remaining years AFTER this one at 7 million per year make this trade impossible. We can't have Croshere, JYD, and Pollard all on the same salary cap, especially considering the Pacers high pay roll next year with the current roster.

That's a great point. I didn't realize that JYD has four years left after this. Two more than Pollard. That's just too much of a contract to take on under the circumstances for a bench player.

BOOOO! bad trade idea.

Jamaal is doing fine Artest will be our 2 guard someday. We need AL for the 3 when reggie retires.

I wouldn't do that trade, but if they made it Harrington for Crawford and Curry, I would have to do it.

It's a trade that works on RealGM too.

That's my thought, however I keep hearing that Paxton, their GM is fed up with the two of them. He even went in the locker room once and chewed the two of them out. He apologized later, but he's not happy with them and Al is a budding star.

I like AL and I would do it. I think bird would do it too, that's too much to pass up.

In a few years we would have a stud lineup

Tinsley
Crawdad
Artest
O'neal
Curry

But we will be set back right now

I don't think it is worth it...I mean...We have title hopes this year

Eddy Curry - C - Chicago Bulls Jan 20

The 31 year-old man who dresses as 'DA Bull', the Chicago Bulls mascot, was arrested today for selling marijuana out of his car.
The Bulls' Web site identifies Da Bull as the muscular, slam-dunking cousin of the team's other mascot, Benny the Bull. The team is considering replacing the former mascot with Eddy Curry in an effort to get something out of his rookie contract. Source: Chicago Tribune

This trade would probably still be available this summer if you really wanted to do it. Paxson may be down on those two, but he's still over-valuing them.

Wow, I didn't think so many people would consider this trade.

If some people think Al is a whiner why even consider Crawford?
Crawford is more vocal than Al has ever been.

If we don't get to the Finals (or atleast game 7 of the ECF) OR harry wants a trade...then I would do this in a heart beat

The only player out there I'd consider moving Harrington for would be Redd.

i read on a bulls board that rick carlisle once described crawford as a franchise player, i think his words were something like "a guy you can build a team around". i could never find that source myself though. anyone else heard it?
