I'm starting tonight's game thread early because I'm going to be away from my PC for the rest of the day.

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY EVERYONE!!!
(but enjoy it in moderation... :buddies: :puke:)

I would think JO will be guarding Ratliff and Jeff guarding Randolph. JO seems to guard the other teams center 90% of the time, could go either way tonight though.

Jermaniac

Nice job creating the thread

I think the best matchup will be JO and Zach, it was a good one last time.

zxc

Bill Walton doing the game.. bah.

Jermaniac
03-17-2004, 08:03 PM
Bill likes the pacers and i like him for that, but he is anoying somtimes

Southside_Pacer
03-17-2004, 08:09 PM
Well, maybe not. Foster starts the game off with two.

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:10 PM
Bill Walton just said Jeff Foster spreads the floor for us.. huh

And that we got "spanked" by Lebron James =\

able
03-17-2004, 08:11 PM
I just wished I could lisdten to Walton being annoying for a change, would probably mean that I was watching the game :)

Tins of to a good start, nad the first score on Foster ???

oh well first idiot call of the night has been called already :P

Southside_Pacer
03-17-2004, 08:12 PM
Bill Walton sure does love the Pacers ball movement. I've loved our ball movement all year, especially our work away from the ball.

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:13 PM
Artest starting off great.

Foster with 2 early fouls though Al checking in. Gonna be undersized now gonna be trouble.Al guarding Randolph gonna kill us.

Southside_Pacer
03-17-2004, 08:13 PM
And Walton just said it was a travesty that the Pacers were not on ESPN more often. :o

I never knew Bill had all these comments in him! :o :o

able
03-17-2004, 08:14 PM
Artest on a "mission" and the refs (as usual) help the opponents, this time by taking Foster out of the game

able
03-17-2004, 08:15 PM
I hope this means we get a look at Pollie tonight and Harrington better improve on himself by a large percentage!

Boooom Baby!

I keep saying, Tins KNOWS where to find the Miller-man

:stupid:

able

Boooom Baby,

Tins is of to a nice start to!

WTG Pacers and to think that our main score threat has yet to make his first basket........

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:18 PM
Artest just everywhere. We can't seem to miss right now, seems like we always go right to the other side of the spectrum and go ice cold after starts like this though. Hope Pacers keep it going though it is about time for the subs to check in :(

able
03-17-2004, 08:23 PM
Well if the "subs" are inclusive of Bender then we are in for some nice matchups, it is just he "synergie" of the second unit that sometimes is way off.

If Tins plays like this I do not see who can stop us.

:stupid:

(ok obvious Al can)

able
03-17-2004, 08:25 PM
Tins in 8 minutes of play:

5 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, 0 turnovers.

Can we buy those stats continuously ??????

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:27 PM
AJ in at the 2 minute mark..

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:29 PM
Pollard checking in now. AJ with 2 fouls in like 1 minute here, ouch.

able
03-17-2004, 08:30 PM
yep that did little good for his status, second one gives away 2 FT's as well, Tins back in.

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:33 PM
31-18 after one. Slowed down quite a bit after the 5 minute mark but still looking good.

able
03-17-2004, 08:36 PM
GOOD first quarter, Tins amazing, waiting for Bender to enter, Cro and Bender not having had any minutes yet :P

Just hope we can keep this up for another 2 quarters, would be nice for the self confidence with Friday's game coming up and .... we would be the first to 50 wins (as 10/20/30/40)

Man am I working my butt of to get enough pecunia to come over for the play-offs!

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:37 PM
Nothing but bench players to start the second again.. giving up a three than turning it over =\

able
03-17-2004, 08:38 PM
Bender in, AJ back in, now get that defense going, though with AJ turning it over, and the little defense Bender plays :)

:stupid:

Bench is doing bad atm.

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:39 PM
That's two turnovers, one wide open three, one foul on a three, and an easy basket inside and the lead is down from 13 to 6 in 2 minutes. Gee I love this bench unit =\

able
03-17-2004, 08:39 PM
AL is somewhat turnover prone as of lately and does simply not play defense.

I wonder how long Rick is going to allow that crap.

:stupid:

able
03-17-2004, 08:42 PM
of course Al fumbles the ball and Jones gets the turnover as a "bad pass", something wrong with those statistics!

Noticed that last game, AL recorded 2 TO's but during the game I counted 6 !

I'm sure there are other stats kept by the coaching stafff.

:stupid:

able
03-17-2004, 08:44 PM
Go Bender!

able
03-17-2004, 08:47 PM
Finally some hustle from Al!

now get back over 10!

Go Pacers!

(stupid foul from Fred)

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:48 PM
After a 31 point first quarter we have 2 points in first 5 minutes of the second. Just like I said earlier we have gone ice cold again as expected. Why can we never be consistent :(

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:50 PM
Wow nice play by JO there. Going for our first FT of the game 6 minutes into the second quarter now.

able
03-17-2004, 08:50 PM
there is something with the second unit that is wrong, what I have no idea, but something is not right, Fred is obviously hitting the wall, he is not really doing much good over that last few games.

Except for Al starters all back in, JO decided to show his stuff :D

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:53 PM
13 FT attempts to 1 now after these. Bah =\

able
03-17-2004, 08:56 PM
Yeah makes you wonder about officiating once again....

Would like to see JB in for Al for a while, I think he would play better with the first unit.

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:56 PM
Pacers getting nothing from the refs on the home court yet again =\

bulletproof
03-17-2004, 08:56 PM
After a 31 point first quarter we have 2 points in first 5 minutes of the second. Just like I said earlier we have gone ice cold again as expected. Why can we never be consistent :(

We're very consistent. We consistently blow leads. Rick is a little too set (read: rigid) with his rotations. I've noticed our starters log lesser minutes than most starters in the league (except for Ron maybe). I hope that changes come playoff time.

able
03-17-2004, 08:57 PM
OK FESS UP!

who bend that rim ?????

WHO ?

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 08:58 PM
Nothing like following up a 31 point quarter with a 6 point one. Lead down to 1.

able
03-17-2004, 08:59 PM
Ball should go to JO not Reggie, NOT AL, JO

idiotic plays create turnovers, missed shots and what more.

Foster in, good, now Reggie stop shooting for now!

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 09:00 PM
Blazers going to the line to take the lead now. Pathetic. :shakehead:

able
03-17-2004, 09:01 PM
What did the P's do to the ref's that they can't even get a bloody call on their homecourt?

the foul/ft ratio between these two teams is way out of proportion and that is most likely a serious understatement.

able
03-17-2004, 09:07 PM
17 now, I fail to see why that ball does not revolve around JO, it goes outside to Reg to much.

I think it is time for JO to show some more!

:stupid:

zxc
03-17-2004, 09:09 PM
After that great first quarter, Tinsley was really bad in the second quarter running the team. Threw ball away a few times and missing easy shots like that last one. Up 1 after 2 quarters. 12 point quarter.. bah.

able
03-17-2004, 09:13 PM
yeah that return the first half kind of broke his concentration, but we must say that first Al and then Ron started to exclude him from play.

On the other hand, if Reg sinks a few of those open 3pointers we are still up by 12 or more.

And there is something with the rotation, indeed I agree that Rick is to rigid in his rotations, if the team is hot, give them some more time to build and play.
To many times the rythm goes to hell if he starts rotating the bench players in.

:stupid:

Hicks
03-17-2004, 09:17 PM
GREAT first quarter, BAD, bad second quarter.

I feel they're allowing the refs to hack us more than us them, and that bothers me. But it was when the bench came in for both teams that we blew this thing.

Then the starters couldn't get their rhythm back (some of that was Reggie trying to draw fouls to the point where he was hurting us), and it just never got good again.

The good news is we have another 24 minutes to make up for that bad 12, and we're up 1 at half. I suspect this might be a nail biter.

Hicks
03-17-2004, 09:17 PM
AL is somewhat turnover prone as of lately and does simply not play defense.

I wonder how long Rick is going to allow that crap.

Actually Al's played pretty good defense tonight.

I was wondering about that, and looked up the box scores of the Pistons last year. It varied from starter to starter, but generally they all played about 5 more minutes a game. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a lot more. So I'd expect to see a bit less of the bench in the playoffs.

zxc
03-17-2004, 09:27 PM
Need to start quick this third quarter or I got a feeling we are in for a long second half.

Southside_Pacer
03-17-2004, 09:28 PM

Southside_Pacer
03-17-2004, 09:29 PM
We're also getting out rebounded and they're going after loose balls WAY more so than we are.

Referees also will not call fouls on Portland to save themselves.

Blazers killing us on the boards now. Can't believe we only have 58 points after scoring 31 in the first quarter. About to be down 5 now. If we lose this one we could be looking at our first extended losing streak of the season. Not a good time for it too =\

I'm still pretty sure we can win this one, once Rick realizes that the ball has to go through JO

If AJ picks up another foul we will see extended playing time for Tins, all things to look forward to :)

rigidity is not a good thing for a coach, sometimes he has to go with the flow, I think that is his biggest flaw, but we'll have to live with it.
