Speaking of which, what are you guys paying for a litre of gas right now?

It's at 99 cents for us as of late...and that's for regular. Ultra/Supreme is up to around $1.13. I'm so poor.........:disappoin

$2.47 - $2.67 a gallon for regular unleaded here in Los Angeles. I'm beginning to think we'll never see gas prices under $2.00 a gallon ever again.

I'm not going to try to convert litres to gallons or Canadian $'s to American $'s, but I filled up yesterday for $2.26/gal.........

Got you all beat - I live by the beach and it's vacation season. Cheapest in the neighborhood is $2.93 for regular unleaded. Any time we drive out of west LA, we get excited to see a sign for $2.59.

Still, this is where I hang out 12 months out of the year, so I guess it's all even:

Oh and BTW, congrats on your car!

I was in Malibu yesterday and saw gas for $2.67/gal. And I was in Venice a couple of days ago, where is it $2.93/gallon?!

In the Eastern Venice the lowest (high) I saw yesterday was 2.21. Six months ago it was still under two bucks.

It seems to me that prices have jumped 5-10% on just about everything in the last six months.

I'm a little confused. The Eastern Venice? And I thought you lived in Florida. But $2.21/gal? I haven't seen prices that low anywhere in LA recently.

I filled up for something that was just barely under $2.00 a month or so ago. :)

20 years from now there will probably be cars with electric motors in them well there are some now but almost every car probably will....gas prices are just ridiculous.

Well, now that I think about it more, I haven't gassed up since 4th of July weekend - so maybe it was a holiday thing that I've blown out of proportion. I about pissed myself, but after driving around for half an hour looking for something cheaper, I went back to the station at Lincoln and Rose in Venice. The price is correct at least for the day I was there.

I know exactly where that is, and yeah, gas stations at major intersections tend to charge significantly more. There's a station on La Cienega about a half-mile north of the 10 that's always about .20 lower than anywhere else, and one on Santa Monica Blvd. between Crescent Heights and Fairfax that's "reasonable" as well. So if you're ever in the area and need to fill up...

Ah, never heard of it. Hence the confusion.

BLAH!!!!

what the &^"% are you whimpos complaining about ?

I pay 0.94 a litre, with the dollar @ 1.74 to the that means I am paying $ 1.63 per litre, times 3.8 for the gallon = $ 6.19 per gallon
Add to that the fact I drive a classic Jag with a 4.2 engine and feel my pain

Yikes! Is that pretty typical throughout Europe? And why is it so high?

yeah it is typical, some countries are more expensive, we're about in the middle to top of the pack.
why ?
It is called "tax" (approx 85% is tax) so "road-tax" (another 350 USD a year) can stay "low" :\

yep, the only thing i miss from OK is paying $ 1.15 a gallon and hear people complain it was expensive (chuckle)

Considering what you pay for gas, Hybrid cars like the Honda Civic and Toyota Prius should be hot items there. So are they selling well?

lousy :) they are not wanted at all, fuel economy nice cars with high mileage are, but hybrids? Imagine getting stuck in a london jam, wanna bet it doesnt' work that well with the hybrid?

Don't forget that the avg speed in london is BELOW 10 Mph (no that is not the speed limit :D )
During rush hour a 3 mile trip can easily take 45 minutes to an hour.

I just paid something like $2.75/ gallon in northern california, so I was quite glad to only pay $2.49/ gallon right outside Midway Airport (until I turned north onto Central Ave. and found it for $2.45/ gallon at the next corner. :banghead:
