Guess we find out who has the momentum after the only close game of the whole series. Too bad all the games weren't as close as Game 5.

Spurs close it out tonight.

As for MVP, it was Duncan in Game 1, Gino in Game 2, and Horry in Game 5. So, we'll see what happens tonight.

I have serious doubts that a healthy Bender could be as productive as a healthy McDysse was at the same point in their careers. Even on bad Denver teams, averaging 20/10 over a three year period at his prime is nothing to sneeze at. :twocents:

When you're in game 7 of the NBA finals, the Pressure is equally distributed amonst both teams. How can you say that there is more pressure on the team that is not the defending champion?

Please, it's win a title or go home for both teams. The pressure right now is 50/50.

Another great game. These last three games are shaping up to be the best Finals since 98.

J33J- You're being just as bad as the Pistons you love to hate with some of your comments.

I'm rooting for the Pistons in Game 7. I don't care how 'fierce' our rivalry is, they're not playing us, they're playing the Spurs. The only thing I like about the Spurs is Manu Ginobli. I like and respect a lot of things about the Pistons.

LOL.

Kstat said it; the Pistons can come out loose in Game 7. They're the underdogs. That's a role they embrace. I can only imagine the thrill they would achieve by winning Game 7 for all their fans who thought they were done when leaving the Palace in Game 5.
So that's a no right?

All the boston fans thought they were done when they left the arena after game 5. Then they went to conseco and won game 6. But ya know what ? they lost game 7. Detroit I know is not boston...but the spurs have won championships too. It will be an amazing game 7 where I expect big shot rob to hang another nail in the coffin!
BOOK THAT!

....you mean like you've "BOOK"ed the last 8 games as losses for the Pistons?

This is becoming an old bit....you've been wrong twice as many times as you've been right. You said the Spurs would SWEEP the Pistons. Nobody is taking you seriously anymore.

I sure hope the Spurs win Game 7. We don't need the Pistons to have an aura of invincibility around them.

Amen. I have been saying exactly that on this forum for the past few days. I would liek them to lose for the same reason but I would put my money on the pistons just because San Antonio's players have a lot of choke in them and the Pistons are mentally toughhhhh, especially Chauncy. I have not seen any one as mentally tough as Chauncy is. He is just like Jordan as far as the mental part of it.

I'm amazed, for as good as the Spurs are, that they lack the confidence they do. It's baffling.

Maybe they miss Stephen Jackson :whoknows:

I actually think they do. The guy exudes confidence. (Just don't blame a loss on him)

I think they miss David Robinson more. Duncan's won without Jackson, but he has yet to prove he can do it without David.

Yeah, but there wasn't anything they could do about losing him.

They miss Steve Kerr also. With Ginobli's penetration, Kerr would be open all night.

True. But, I think Jackson was at least as important to the '03 team as Robinson, if not more, if you consider production level of the two players.

Leadership and intangibles may be a different story, but Robinson was a role player in '03, while Jackson was the leading scorer in multiple playoff games that year.

If you remember the 03' finals, their best defensive player BY FAR was RObinson. He played his *** off in that series.

David was defintely a key player, the 2nd most important player on the team in many ways, even at that age. But Malik Rose probably played more minutes in the playoffs and finals than he did.

SJax almost singlehandedly erased deficits in closeout games against Dallas (before Steve Kerr came in and put them over the top) and New Jersey.

In any case, the Pistons will be playing to win a championship on thursday, and the Spurs will be playing NOT TO LOSE a championship that everybody handed them after game 5.

You have to wonder how the spurs will react.

When they were talking about a possible game 7 before the game started, I told my wife that game 7 was tonight, because the game 6 winner would be the champions.

I hope I'm wrong, though.

This didn't suprise me at all. The two teams really are evenly matched. If both teams play their game it comes down to someone or something unexpected to make enough of a difference for the margin. Sunday it was Horry. Last night it was Detroit's 3-pt shooting.

Wouldn't suprise me if either team won Thurs. I thought the odds were longer for Detroit before this game only because they had to win 2 while SA just needed one. That's no longer the case. If I was laying odds, Game 7 would be a pick 'em.

On the flip-side, Robinson couldn't win without Duncan :)

This idea that the pressure is not on the Pistons is total crap. Pressure is equal to both teams. The questions is which team will respond better. If it comes down to that question, I think the Pistons will come out ahead, but maybe it might not come down to that question. If the Spurs get ahead early and ride a wave, the pressure will be alleviated. But if it's close the whole way, that will help the Pistons.

Is there any question which backcourt is the best in the NBA.

I've been pulling for the Pistons. I never bought into the idea that they ruined our season. I look at them and I'm reminded how close and how far we are from a championship.

I think there's pressure on both teams, but significantly moreso on San Antonio for these reasons:

1) Spurs are at home.

2) Spurs don't handle pressure as well as the Pistons, which means since game 7 pressure is supposedly equal on both teams it will seem like more for the team that doesn't handle it as well.

3) Pistons won it last year and obvioulsy expect to do it again.

4) Pistons last game 7 was about 15 days ago while the Spurs last game 7 was about 15 years ago, before any current Spur was in the league.

All I know is this is all J33J's fault. If he hadn't gone and said that the series was over the Spurs would have won. :irked:

On a side note my 9 year old niece who knows nothing about basketball has picked the last 2 games correctly.

Exactly

This is game 7 of the NBA finals. Its total :bs: to say that all the pressure is on the Spurs because they're favored to win

How can any fan say that "all the pressure is on them" when they're entering a DO OR DIE GAME.

It's like 98 with the Pacers and the Bulls. Sure the Bulls were "supposed" to win, but the Pacers clearly had just as much pressure on them. When it's win or go home, both teams feel it.....if you don't believe that, you're only kidding yourself.
