High ho, Silver, away!

Get the ball to Sheed, early and often.

Hopefully he can take Oneal out of the team concept like he did in game 4, with some early baskets.

Also, get the ball to whomever reggie's guarding, wether it be Rip or Prince.

Lastly, handcuff Arroyo to McDyess. When one goes in, the other has to play too.

Game 4 was so much like Game 5 ECF from last year, I'm very worried this game will be alot like game 6 was in the ECF last year.

Really if they can just hit a freakin shot and stick to the gameplan of Fosterizing the Pistons with good play from Tins, they can win this.

Jamaal Tinsley. The unequivocal key player in this series. If the Pistons can play as good a defense on him as they did in Game 4, advantage Detroit. If Tinsley performs his Jason Kidd impersonation like in Game 2 & 3, advantage Indiana.

I think Detroit comes out somewhat lackadaisical, allowing the Pacers (and specifically Tinsley) to impose their tempo and their will on the game.

This board is quietly confident, with 75 to 80% thinking the Pacers have a great shot to win.

I agree with them. The Pacers take the critical Game 5 in Detroit, and look to close out the Pistons in Conseco Fieldhouse on Thursday.

Hopefully the Pacers come out playing with a sense of urgency, something they didnt do in game 4.

Man.... I love a game that's actually decided by which team plays the hardest. Hopefully we'll be revved up for this one, especially since we just got kicked in the groin. When was the last time we lost two in a row?

Lord Helmet
05-17-2005, 06:14 PM
Don't you all just love this? The excitement, the rivals, the playoffs? Man, I really am going to miss all this like, gameday and all that, if we don't advance.

Handcuff Larry Brown to the bench and tape his mouth shut, so he won't be running up and down the sidelines looking like someone just kicked him in the sack. :o  :D

I voted other, as there was not an all of the above answer.

That was on purpose - while each of the above might be factors in the Pacers' poor shooting, the poll is asking which one (if any) you consider to be the one that has the biggest effect. :hmm:

NorCal_Pacerfan
05-17-2005, 06:44 PM
Me too. I love this. I really hope we can advance, because I just love the excitement, the suspense, the action. Tonight is a BIG game. Much bigger than game 4. Reggie was wrong about game 4. Game 6 will be the biggest game for the Pacers in a long time. Game 5 is a close second.

Go Pacers! Please, quiet Detroit.

why the **** wont JO or DD box out???

I noticed that. They just aren't crashing the boards at all.

pb777
05-17-2005, 07:16 PM
In one series, jax went for the block on Prince when he should have just put his hand up and boxed Prince out. Prince gets the board and scores. WE NEED TO BOX OUT _ ITS BASKETBALL 101

ajbry
05-17-2005, 07:16 PM
Jeff will rebound. Put him in Rick.

NorCal_Pacerfan
05-17-2005, 07:16 PM
Hey, at least we're not stuck with 11 points in the 1st. If we can hang right with them, then it's all good. Reggie's getting off a bit, jax is looking good, and O'neal is right there.

Let's win this one, damnit!

PaceBalls
05-17-2005, 07:22 PM
AJ can be effective as a PG vs some teams, but vs Detroit he just sucks unless he is playin shooting guard. Good Gods, I sure hope they get another PG that can dribble the freakin basketball in the offseason.

Jermaniac
05-17-2005, 07:23 PM
Just rebound better and we are fine.

WEST
05-17-2005, 07:23 PM
AJ dribbles way too much and hes not good at it.

pb777
05-17-2005, 07:24 PM
WE NEED TO HIT SHOTS (yes i know caps lock is on, i'm shouting)

WE NEED TO HIT THE BOARDS AND MAKE SHOTS

I'm so tired of shooting less than 40%, let's make up for all of the misses in prior games and MAKE SHOTS

brich
05-17-2005, 07:25 PM
It feels like we should be down more then we are, so I guess I am happy with the first quarter. We can still play much, much better.

JO has made some shots, but still doesn't seem like he has found his rhythm. He definitely needs to be better are rebounding and boxing out.

Reggie made one of them, but PLEASE...FLOATER...at least once in awhile.

Billups and Prince are making the shots that we can't. We need to get our shooters in rhythm too, or we need to shut these guys down.

Rebounding is ugly so far. There are alot of long boards so far tonight. That is usually Foster's specialty. Hopefully he will gather some up this quarter.

WEST
05-17-2005, 07:25 PM
WE NEED TO GET THE HUSTLE STATS!

So the Pacers put the Pistons into the penalty with over 7 minutes left in the quarter. Have we taken one free throw since? Hell no.

The Pacers are playing awful. Our defense is slow, our rebounding is nonexistant, and our offense is stagnant. Oh, and Jermaine is having ANOTHER terrible game all over the place.

Other than that, things are peachy keen.

Alright, Alright. The fact that we were able to stomache their run, and are still standing is a good sign. 7 is a very managable lead. Reggie needs to hit some shots. JO has 10 points, but he needs at least 13 in the second half. I still have confidence in winning this one.

NorCal_Pacerfan
05-17-2005, 08:03 PM
I didn't like that second quarter at all. We should be down by 10. Thankfully it's only 7.
If we can make a little run to start the third, we can come back. If we get down and out early, I don't think it will bode well for us.

Lead's only 7, actually could've been a lot worse.

Very true...I am as frustrated as if we would have been down by 20. Our shots still aren't falling, we have gone early to ugly isolation ball, our defense has been erratic, in general our ball movement is terrible, our guys are getting stupid touch fouls, there guys are suckering us and the refs with flops, Reggie can't shoot the ball, Tinsley is making bad decisions and forcing passes, Dale has not played well, we can't buy an offensive rebound, and Foster has three fouls.

The only positives so far is that we have had at least some ball movement tonight, Jax is playing well on offense, and we aren't down by more.

WEST

Carlos Arroyo totally turned this game around. I can't express how much he means to this team when he's on the floor.

I'm still royally *****ed at Larry for not playing his *** earlier in this series, but oh well.

I'm also glad Tay got sick and tired of taking punishment from Jackson and finally decided to give some back.

I'm satisfied with a 7-point lead, but we need to remember Indy came out and DEMOLISHED us last time at home, and they did it by jumping on us early in the 2nd half.

As long as we come out focused, I like our chances.

Lastly, calls aside, the harder-working team AGAIN has the lead. Refs or no refs, the Pistons have beaten the Pacers to almost every loose board. Jackson was too busy leaking out for potential fast breaks to bother boxing out prince and his long arms.

Oh yeah, and get Sheed more involved in the post.

We can win this, but we have to get our asses in gear in the second half, or really just our brains. They're getting on us for not playing smart, it's a pretty correct-able mistake, if they can adapt.
