Hmmm. I enjoy arguing with Peck the most, but he's become a love-sick girly-girl since Dale came back. If Kstat had convictions, maybe I'd vote for him. Ragnar caved on his grand jewel, so I can't vote for him. If BP were still BP, I'd probably vote for him, but he's not.

So, that leaves Anthem. I don't argue with him much, partly because I usually agree with him, and partly because he's too good.

Hmmmm....

BP isn't really argumentative. He just calls it as he sees it, and he sees it differently than others. But he doesn't really try to engage anybody in debates, at least not about the Pacers. Film, on the other hand, I know nothing about so I can't comment on his argumentativeness over there.

Kstat cheers for another team, so of course we don't agree with him. I don't find him to be argumentative, either. Just biased toward the wrong team.

Peck is our MVP (whoops, we're not voting on that yet) because he gets the conversations started. And he holds some controversial opinions, and he holds some of them very strongly. In a court-room analogy (since we all think he's a wanna-be lawyer) he makes great, and oftentimes convincing, opening statements but he usually leaves the arguing to others (unless you dare question the supremecy of one Dale Davis).

That leaves Anthem and Ragnar. Anthem and I have had some very good arguments on the Pacers board. We don't agree often but Anthem generally has a well-thought argument, he'll challenge your assumptions, etc. I think Anthem must've been on a debate team in a previous life.

Ragnar and I argue more on the politics forum, where he's just wrong 100% of the time even though he never even realizes it. . Like Anthem, he's argumentative in a good way, he'll engage in a debate but I've never seen either of those guys resort to insults, flaming, etc. And when it comes to PGs, he's generally right-on so I don't bother to argue with him and I get tired of just quoting him and using the :iagree: smiley.

I like all five of these guys because they all bring differing opinions/ veiwpoints to PD, and that's a snippet of what makes PD enjoyable.

I've considered splitting my vote, but I'm really just waiting to see who wants to argue with me over some of my recent posts. :D

The interesting thing is, unlike past years' votes, I wouldn't call any of these guys bullheaded - which is what I usually consider argumentative. All of 'em are pretty reasonable to carry on a discussion with.

The REAL argumentative folks are mostly banned ...

It looks like this year we have settled on 'argumentative' to be a good thing... as in a 'good debater who doesn't hesitate to debate'. In the past there would be someone who would no doubt argue until they were blue in the face but their arguments rarely held water and many times they'd be on both sides of the fence (and not even seem to acknowledge it). Their 'debating' skills were questionable.

Now... who to vote for.... ?

Uh... I don't really think any of these guys fit the bill.

Quick, the first one to disagree with me here gets my vote...

More than that - don't forget New Yawk & Writerman.

I can't say I can really vote for anyone. I think I argue with Jay most of the time (I have yet to convert him to the Dark Side of Ron Liking)

Gotta vote for KStat. He's never wrong about the NBA. Just ask him, he'll tell you. And that's the essence of the most argumentative poster. :D

I wanted to vote for KStat because he's a Piston fan. I figure he's getting a lot of votes for that reason. However, knowing he has a different point of view I had to ask myself would I be voting for him because he's a Piston fan or because he's the most argumentative.

Just another reason the awards shouldn't be going on now. The playoffs are going on and we are playing the Pistons. How many posters can separate their feelings right now? I can't.

Harmonica gets my vote.

I disagree.

Being argumentative is different from being a *******.

We have a separate catagory for that, remember?

It was down to Harmonica and Kstat. I saw a recent thread where Harmonica threw Kstat some bait and Kstat ran with it. With that in mind, I gave it to Kstat. Had Kstat been above the fray and left the bait alone I would've went with Harmonica.

Really? For some reason I thought he was escorted off after his whole, "Come to the Spurs Board and Defend Me Even Though I'm Being a Hideous Troll There" thread.

Guess I was wrong.

I voted for Ragnar. Why I'm not sure.

BP would have gotten my vote, but he was gone for so long that I can't vote for him. he deserves the Ron Artest award.

I rarely if ever argue with Kstat, although I guess we did a little after 11/19

Maybe I should have voted for Peck, I argue with him as much as anyone

I think he'd changed his tune on Artest so he would've had to wave the finger at himself too.

I'm not 100% certain he changed sides on Artest but I was thinking he did.

I think Kstat wins a different award each year. He's won rookie of year, fan of other team, and now argumentative, plus I think he won another one.

Not that there's anything wrong with it

2003- Rookie of the Year
2004- Non-Pacer Fan of the Year
2004- Poster You Love to Hate
2005- Most Argumentative

I think thats all......

Of course, I'll never have a shot at MVP, most fanatic, most improved, or most humorous, so I think my run of versatility is over.

I'll also freely admit that each award there was someone else equally deserving, and I've just been lucky to win the close ones.

I think this award I took by default, because BP was suspended for half the season. In the same poll last year, he beat me by a good margin.

I'm having a moment of nostalgia here - Who won most argumentative and then went on for 30 posts trying to convince people he wasn't argumentative? It's been a while - may have been back on RATS.

That was a high-humor moment for me.

That's just not true.

As soon as you realize you're really a Pacers fan, you are an ABSOLUTE LOCK on Most Improved Poster.

This is amazing - absolutely amazing. How can Kstat be the most argumentative poster when all he does is come in here and kiss Pacer @ss. Huh? Huh? You've got to be kidding me. And these other chumps. Good Lord! There are more arguments at a Girl Scout overnight. You mean to tell me THIS is our front line argumentative team? A musical instrument. A song. Peck doesn't argue - he's always right. At least RAGnar had a partially deserving name. This is it! I don't get it! I really don't get it!
