Sarunas Jasikevicius 6-2 180 PG Maccabi Tel Aviv 1976

Played PG at Maryland and while he was a nice PG in college, he looked far too slow and unathletic to ever play in the NBA.

But he's so mentally strong and works so hard, he gets better every year. He's the son of athletes, his father was a big table tennis star in Lithuania, so he comes from a very competitive background. He is the classic case of mind over matter.

He nearly led Lithuania to be the first team to upset the USA Dreamteam, back when it seemed impossible. After winning back to back Euroleague titles, something that hasn't ever been done since the creation of the Euroleague, the NBA has finally taken notice. He's 29 now. And though he's smarter, some scouts wonder if he's already lost a half a step. Is the NBA too late?

He should be a very effective PG in the NBA for whichever team he ends up with. One of the real keys to his game is the fact that he always keeps his dribble alive. He's able to find players off cuts and screens with precision accuracy.

One Lithuanian contact we spoke to at the Final Four (who is close to him) said Jasikevicius told him 3 weeks ago he was headed to the NBA next season.

He's a free agent, free to join any NBA team. So the question isn't whether he wants to go to the NBA, but which NBA team will sign him.

Rumors in Moscow were that Indiana was a team very interested. But obviously any team with a solid core and a need for a PG, (Utah for example) would be a great fit for him.
